It did! There was a prototype version of it, a fully working version! And it had an even bigger gun as an option to. Search the wikipedia for KV-1S and look at the models. But, i'll go for a version with the D10T gun, it will be even better with the extra rate of fire.
Gun handling of the su on paper is pretty bad, in practice, however, it tends to favor the center of the reticle a LOT, and i mean LOT. fully dispersed unaimed snapshots i pull all the time, and 3 out of 5 times it'll hit. Whereas my wt pz iv's shots fly out at the edge of the reticle all the time for some reason....
+soer9717 there's more hidden stats to accuracy, russia has almost no in-flight shell dispersion while german tanks have it really bad. artillery has it through the roof.

That's if you find those tanks alone but most of the time they are with at least one other member of their team which makes it hard to exploit the reload time of the kv-1s while another tank is shooting you.It is also hard to take advantage of that reload time if its city map.The kv-1s does have poor armor on paper but in practice that armor is trolly. It gets so many bounces. I bounced two shots from the rear hull armor with the top gun of the VK 3001 D. kv-1s is overpowered for its tier.

I absolutely agree with QB in the end of the second battle. 3 skilled players driving KV-1S'es own the battles so hard... There are several famous Russian teams and UA-cam uploaders like Jove, Amway921, Gleborg, Woziris, who ADORE this tank.. It teaches you to think strategically since tier 6, not since tier 7(US, China, Germany) or 8(Brits). it teaches you to use cover, reload in time, take right positions - and it pays back really good. 7/42 tournaments show it is excellent. Just enjoy it!

KV-1s is a great tank to learn the skills needed for fighting at a higher level. It demands that you be very good at fire and movement. The KV-1s rewards you for playing well and punishes you for screwing up. It is OP but I hope it doesn't get nerfed too bad in 8.9
I would be much happier with it if it was more of a glass cannon. It has supposedly small armour, but it is not really the case. It bounces 140 pen guns quite often. And not only it has super-gun it is also quite fast. So at current time, it is fairly OP tank, no matter how fun it is.
it can easily be killed during Reload what i usually do is wait till the KV-1s shoots then i just take time and aim (or if i have quick reload just put shots in it Time after Time again) also a lone KV-1s is very vulnerable against tanks like the Cromwell
personally, i think it just needs a longer aim time 2.9 to 3.4, mandating a gun laying drive. then you are just fine. reason? then you cant roll around a corner and expect to hit anything for 3 sec longer.
if i'm honest the 88 feels underpowered if anything, the penetration seems too low especially considering it has to compete with the 122 of the KV1S. My VK 3601H has resorted back to the Konisch for extra penetration, and I still have at least 20mm's less of that than the 122

It has a very nice gun that can one-shot most tier 4 tanks and most tier 5 TDs. It has medium like speed and heavy like armor (it bounces a LOT of random shots). It is totally OP for tier 6. It should be in tier 7 with slightly more HP and the rest of the stats the same! It LITERALLY is an IS with less armor and more mobility + little less ROF.
They cant take away 122 gun because it was historically putting. So the only way to nerf it is a transfer it to tier 7, it will be the light version of IS(after some mobility up of course)
And TBH it is one of the easiest tanks to get those two good shots off - the accuracy isn't disastrous, penetration is very good, aiming time is very workable and the only 'balancing' factor is RoF. Put this package onto a mobile platform and you literally get yourself a tier 7+0 medium tank, as KV-1S can shift just as fast as my Pershing for instance. There are reasons why I do so well in my IS even in high tier matches - 390dmg a shot is great, and doing it in tier 6 is OP...
If you had to choose between a kv-1s and an m6? I bounce kv-1s in my m6. it's not that hard to do at all. They're then helpless during the reload. and I punish their puny weak armor. Also, the inaccuracy causes more inexperienced kv-1s players to miss a lot. I love dodging those shells then shredding the helpless kv-1s in my light and medium tanks.
T4 german hetzer has gun like the KV1S but at tier four, and is completely inpenetrable if you hide behind a crushed "log pile"... that 350 alpha damage, instakills ALL tier four cept the matilda...
Grinding my way to the kv-1s . I'm a german tanks player but got sick of panther's bullshit. The l/100 gun misses like 30 or 40% of the time. Now, since I got my KV I have had so much fun with it and the howitzer canon. And since the 8.6 patch I pop heads from 600+ meters no problem with it. It's like kickin puppies. While I struggle to have fun with my german armor, except the vk3060, I'm having a blast with the russians. Completely new experience.
True, and historically, the KV-1S dident even have the 122mm. In real life, the 88mm L/56 could penetrate a M4 Sherman from 2 kilometers away. In the game, it cant hit anything if it is more than 300 meters away, not to speak about penetrating.

Very, very incorrect. The KV-1S was not normally mounted with a 122mm gun, no. But few tanks in the game were mounted with their actual top guns - just as an example, the Tiger I is supposed to only mount the short 88. The long 88 was only on the Tiger II. The KV-1S was a lightened KV-1, yeah. Only on armor, though. Its weaponry was enhanced as a stopgap til the IS-2 was in service. This included a prototype fitted with the same 122mm gun you see in game, the KV-122. Google it.
Actually read your history, the KV-1S was designed as a test platform for the 122mm gun before the IS. There were only a couple made. They were less armorored (not lesser gunned) than the KV-1. go to Wikipedia and read up on the KV-1 and you will see info there.
Because it's not balanced against the KV-1S. They're supposed to be balanced against the other tier 5 mediums. Also, it's not like tier 5s don't end up in fights against ISs and KV-3s which both have the same damage gun. Treat the KV-1S with the same style you would them, but easier to penetrate. Also, with 150mm of penetration, even without normalization, it's still rare to not penetrate if your enemy isn't well angled.

Every tank is unique, and KV-1S is very OP compared to other tanks. By your logic we should give M6 the 105mm gun T29 uses with 3,5 ROF and call it balanced 'because it is unique' (hint: it wouldn't be).
I replied you in another response. KV-1S requires a ton of skill to play it and win on it. Newbs can drive it, they cannot use it. I rarely get any damage from enemy bucks, I am afraid more of t34s with their needlers, or m4 Shermans, than of newb KV-1s i often face. Back rhombus is the key to victory in high level battles, long reload prepares you for IS-3, 4, 8 and 7, as they reload much longer than IS. KV-1s with 122mm is the tutorial of tier 8,9 and 10 heavies. And yeah, it owns sandbox too!
How i love su 100 - y! Most of the ppl thinking its so op. But its a very huge target and lacking armor. Its kinda hard to play in my opinion. I realy like big striking tanks. Show your head take targets %80 healt.. Get back in cover. Never shoot 2 times in same spot. If some arty in enemy team ^^.
KV2? I honestly dont get the problem considering the reload on both the KV1S and KV2 with durp. Yes it can be irritating but somebody has to have the biggest gun I have a bigger problem with the 105mm gold durp... you can get that at tier 4 ffs... with a bigger rate of fire. 150mm Pen and 350 average damage with a ROF of around 6.5 average across all the tanks that use it from tier 4 to 6. There's ALOT of people using it as well on all that tanks that can fit it, especially Hetzer and M4.
Doesn't matter. Go back to Wikipedia and go further down the Kilment Voroshilov tank article, and specifically look at the "variants" section. You'll find this: "KV-122 - A KV-85 with the 122mm D-25T cannon. One prototype was made in 1944. Not taken in service." Ta-fuckin'-da. KV-1S (the KV-85 is the KV-1S with an improved turret designed to accommodate the 85mm gun found on the T-34-85) with 122mm. It DID exist.
kv-1s is not op anymore. It is still capable of 300Ish damage at 1 tier lower than it was in this vid. (also with a much smaller turret) but its best gun is a derp gun now with 60 pen. i normally get around 100-150 with splash and a pen is almost always an instant kill. It's just really rare.
Thing is though, they already nerfed the KV-1S along with the IS a while ago. They took off some of the armor of the tank. And plus its russian so they are bias about it and wont nerf the gun.

My Matilda II is OP as hell. It frequently bounces T2 and T3 arty, has 121mm pen with normal AP and takes 1.77 sec to reload.

and tier 4 tanks can pen the flat part of the front armor of the kv-1. the kv-1s has really weak armor. it's a glass cannon.

Protip, most late tier russian heavies were designed with the tier 10 gun the IS-8 and IS-4 can mount. Instead we get shitty 122's with nerfed stats

That's not how balancing works, when the KV-3 was tier 6 and considered OP it got bumped up to tier 7. Tanks aren't locked into their tier.

I was wondering what program you use to record and also how you make your voice as loud as it is right now as I'm currently using the same headset you are and I am barely as loud as the game volume when I set it to 1.
Every tank is unique, and KV-1S is very OP compared to other tanks. By your logic we should give M6 the 105mm gun T29 uses with 3,5 ROF and call it balanced 'because it is unique' (hint: it wouldn't be).

An ARL-44 can stop a KV1-s.. but mobility of this kv-1s is insane.
Box Tank and Tog II should be friends, both are funny, smash enemies.
Mmm the 90% winrate, did you think about all the tier 8 matches you would get into? Then the kv-1s is ok but not as great.
I have KV-1S and I don't even play it anymore, don't know why too.
I replied you in another response. KV-1S requires a ton of skill to play it and win on it. Newbs can drive it, they cannot use it. I rarely get any damage from enemy bucks, I am afraid more of t34s with their needlers, or m4 Shermans, than of newb KV-1s i often face.
Back rhombus is the key to victory in high level battles, long reload prepares you for IS-3, 4, 8 and 7, as they reload much longer than IS. KV-1s with 122mm is the tutorial of tier 8,9 and 10 heavies.
And yeah, it owns sandbox too!
How i love su 100 - y! Most of the ppl thinking its so op. But its a very huge target and lacking armor. Its kinda hard to play in my opinion. I realy like big striking tanks. Show your head take targets %80 healt.. Get back in cover. Never shoot 2 times in same spot. If some arty in enemy team ^^.

KV2? I honestly dont get the problem considering the reload on both the KV1S and KV2 with durp. Yes it can be irritating but somebody has to have the biggest gun I have a bigger problem with the 105mm gold durp... you can get that at tier 4 ffs... with a bigger rate of fire. 150mm Pen and 350 average damage with a ROF of around 6.5 average across all the tanks that use it from tier 4 to 6. There's ALOT of people using it as well on all that tanks that can fit it, especially Hetzer and M4.

Doesn't matter. Go back to Wikipedia and go further down the Kilment Voroshilov tank article, and specifically look at the "variants" section. You'll find this:
"KV-122 - A KV-85 with the 122mm D-25T cannon. One prototype was made in 1944. Not taken in service."
Ta-fuckin'-da. KV-1S (the KV-85 is the KV-1S with an improved turret designed to accommodate the 85mm gun found on the T-34-85) with 122mm. It DID exist.

The arl 44 has 212 pen and a lot of armor for a tier 6, and still o one complains about that.
kv-1s is not op anymore. It is still capable of 300Ish damage at 1 tier lower than it was in this vid. (also with a much smaller turret) but its best gun is a derp gun now with 60 pen. i normally get around 100-150 with splash and a pen is almost always an instant kill. It's just really rare.

Thing is though, they already nerfed the KV-1S along with the IS a while ago. They took off some of the armor of the tank. And plus its russian so they are bias about it and wont nerf the gun.

Even better in the Russian meds, bounced multiple IS-3 shots with my t-34-85
