The husband said to his wife, "I'm going out with my friends."
She replied, "Okay."
After a while, their son said, "Mom, my mock exam results are out, and they're not great."
Thinking he would be scolded, he was surprised when his mom calmly said, "Okay, if you study hard, you'll get good grades. If not, you'll have to retake this semester. It's up to you."
The next day, their daughter hesitantly said to her, "Mom, I crashed the car."
She was afraid her mom would get angry, but to her surprise, her mom said, "Okay, take the car to the repair shop."
This person, who was usually quick-tempered and irritable, suddenly changed. Seeing this reaction, everyone was worried, thinking something was wrong. They all asked her, "Is something wrong? Why are you so calm?"
She smiled and replied, "It took me a long time to realize that everyone is responsible for their own lives. I realized that my pain, worries, anxieties, and stress cannot solve your problems; instead, they will only increase my burden. I realized that I can only offer advice when you ask for it, but whether you take it or not is up to you. Whatever decisions you make, good or bad, you must bear the consequences. I am not responsible for anyone's actions. I realized that I can only control myself. My job is to take care of you, love you, and encourage you, but solving problems and finding happiness afterward depend on each of you. Therefore, I should remain calm and let each of you solve your own problems."
