Thank you so much for your teaching which is wonderful! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Can I say “Oh! I found that my neighbor’s house was on fire after I caught a whiff of burning.”? Is it correct? Your reply is greatly appreciated! 🙏🏻☺️
Here I have some examples for me to take notes and add to my flashcards: Subtle flavor: A delicate or faint taste that is not very strong or pronounced. Example: The soup had a subtle flavor of herbs that added a hint of freshness. Distinctive aroma: A unique and easily recognizable smell. Example: The bakery had a distinctive aroma of freshly baked bread that filled the street. To bring out the flavor: To enhance or emphasize the taste of something. Example: Adding a touch of garlic to the pasta will really bring out the flavors in the sauce. A bitter aftertaste: A lingering unpleasant taste experienced after consuming something. Example: The medicine left a bitter aftertaste that lasted for hours. A bland taste: A taste that lacks distinct flavor or excitement; often used to describe something plain or lacking seasoning. Example: The rice had a bland taste, so I added some spices to make it more interesting. A peculiar taste: An unusual or distinctive taste that is not commonly found. Example: The fruit had a peculiar taste, combining sweetness with a hint of tanginess. To give off a smell: To release or emit a particular odor. Example: The flowers in the garden give off a wonderful fragrance in the spring. An overpowering stink: A very strong and unpleasant odor that is overwhelming. Example: The garbage bin had an overpowering stink due to the rotting food inside. A revolting stench: An extremely offensive and disgusting smell. Example: The sewer backup created a revolting stench that could be smelled from a distance. To catch a whiff: To briefly sense or smell a faint odor. Example: As I walked by the bakery, I caught a whiff of freshly brewed coffee.
