Thanks enjoyed it very much. I hope to have a working cocker puppy by November. Safely lost my last one 18 months ago and I was so heart broken I said never again!! But I was lucky she got to over 15 years old and had a great life. Best breed in the world and can’t wait to meet my new little girl .
Rowan I’m glad you enjoyed it! Oh it is so heartbreaking when they leave, it never gets any easier but I still couldn’t ever be without a dog in my life and 15 years is a great age! Enjoy every moment with your pup when they do arrive! 😄
Thank you Mark! In this video she is wearing a Barbour flat collar. I’ve just googled and found this one which is the same: www.toddsofkendal.co.uk/378150/products/barbour-brown-leather-dog-collar.aspx?currency=GBP&chosenAttribute=DAC0002BR15S I can’t remember where I got it the lead as it is about 6 years old but it is a 1.5 meter long clip lead. I hope that helps 😊
I’m really glad you find them useful! I actually have two release cues. The first is “break” which is what I use for saying she can come out of position or off the placeboard but she still needs to remain engaged with me. Then my second one is “Off you go” which I use to release her to go do her own thing and explore the environment.
Hi Rob, glad you’re enjoying our videos! I just use a button clicker which you can get nice pretty cheaply on Amazon. Here’s a link to the ones I brought www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B076LZ4XGK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
You can use the placeboard as a training tool to help with training lots of different behaviours including; sit stays, steadiness, stop whistle, delivery, lining, directional casting, recall etc. I have a folder saved with a selection of placeboard videos showing how you can use it for training different behaviours if you wanted to see how it can be used. It’s definitely not an essential but can be really helpful for some dogs and/or some handlers.

What's the point of this?
