The 400f is the OG of "Modern" MX Machines - They haul A's for a bike thats 1/4 Century Old! I have a YZ Tuned WR400f - but would like to get a Legit YZ400f to restore & ride every now & then! - Can be a B*tch of a bike to start! if you don't know the technique or it isn't Tuned right! Cheers 👍 🇦🇺
I will say it is a big heavy bike and the clutch pull is really heavy aswell, that being said its an awesome and powerful bike! One of those things that make you feel like a badass kicking it over 😆. They arent very hard to work on and theres actually a guy in youtube im following whos doing a full rebuild on one! Ill have to look up his name. If the price is right and thats the only issue with it, id say go for it!
@@EmxBrandon Cool just b carefull that's allot of power nice trail's but the high tension line,we could open it up I miss the old days stay safe I wear full gear. Arms and legs the crome one's and same gloves madbike gloves it looks cool too.
Hello, I need help, my Yamaha yz 400f leaks antifreeze out of the exhaust, I changed the head gaskets and it keeps leaking when I try to start it, how can I fix the
If its coming out of the exhaust and you already changed the head gasket you may have a crack in the head or the head is warped so the head gasket isnt sealing properly
@donnisjacinto5297 i dont unfortunately use whatsapp. Youll need to do a leak down test first to find out where the coolant is coming from, then do a visual inspection.
Its possible it has an auto decompression. Give it a couple slow kicks to prime it, twist the throttle twice, then get the piston to top dead center on the compression stroke, go 1 click on the kick starter passed compression stroke, reset, and then kick hard. Should start up 1st or 2nd try.
Yeah it just depends. If its got aftermarket parts like an exhaust and wasnt re jetted, or the jets werent cleaned during the rebuild. Sounds to me like a lean fuel issue.
I notice a lot of yzf have stutter issues/ carb issues. Mines at shop now coz its backfiring and cant hold revs steady if try cruise just missfires alot
@Matt H sounds like lean conditions probably a gunked up carb. In this video the airfuel screw actually backed out and fell off. New screw and the thing rips!

1900 sounds pretty fair if its clean and runs good! They are a beast of a bike for sure!

Yeah if it fell over you cannot pick it up just by its handlebars you have to use two hands and lift up the whole frame.

Does your also back fire after high revs?
Sounds like a lean condition, might need to clean the carb! Has the jets been messed with?

She's running but there is still something wrong
Turn out the air fuel screw backed out as i was riding it, easy fix!
