I too was naive for my first build, telling the HVAC sub to just install it. The result was a section of 32’ 6x12 girder holding up the second floor being hacked out to make room for his return. That was 40 years ago and I’m still scarred.

Spray foam is extremely toxic if the house ends up catching down... that's a no-no no in my brand new house build
