  • Driven hunts have a strong tradition in Sweden, especially in the southern parts. Normally the hunts are for a mixed bag of wild boar, deer, moose, and fox. In this video, you will follow Glenn, Oliver, and Tobias on some driven hunts and, we can assure you that there will be quite a lot of action and exciting hunting sequences.
    When we hunt with the dachshund, we track the dog with the Garmin Alpha dog tracking device and the Garmin Instinct smartwatch.
    2:18 Tobias Shots a roebuck
    5:02 Red Squirrel
    7:12 Glenn shots a roebuck
    10:17 The dachshund "Agda"
    12:12 Oliver shots a fox
    15:07 Oliver shots a big roebuck
    18:00 Where are the horns?

    In the Eastern United States we have gray squirrels, fox squirrels, and red squirrels. The red squirrels are very small and not hunted, but the gray and fox squirrels are very popular small game. The gray squirrels are very abundant. The fox squirrels are less common, but are much bigger than the gray squirrels. Squirrels can be hunted by still hunting or stand hunting with .22 rimfire rifles or shotguns, and in the South there is a breed of dog called the mountain cur that is used for squirrel hunting. The dog trees the squirrel so the hunter can shoot it. Squirrels can be fried like chicken or used to make stew, and the meat is very good.

    Here in the Midwest U.S. we hunt American Grey and fox squirrels. Very good eating. We hunt by stalking and it is a great way to get young hunters involved.
    We hunt them with either .22 caliber rifles or small gauge shotguns.

      If one wants to be a good stalk or still hunter, then the squirrel woods is a great teacher. Of course there's nothing wrong with finding a tree the squirrels are cutting and posting up for a limit either. The squirrels taste good either way. Good luck and God bless.

    I vilka lägen brukar ni låta taxen gå vidare i löpan efter skott? Min erfarenhet är att det oftast är säkrast att koppla vid skottsplats och avvakta en stund för att sen spåra om man är osäker på träff.

    • @RedMooseHunting
      @RedMooseHunting  3 роки тому +1

      Jag är inte rätt man att råda i denna fråga, har inte jagat så mycket med tax och äger ingen själv. I just detta fall såg vi att bocken var hårt träffad och trodde den låg. Nu hade den gått lite längreän vad vi trodde, men i det läget ansåg vi det bäst att låta taxen gå vidare direkt på löpan. Det är möjligt att Linus tagit ett annat beslut ifall vi misstänkte bom eller om art mer osäkra, men här såg vi att ena frambenet hängde efter skottet.
