Despite what you think of him as a person, he really is one of the most daring and unique actors to ever exist period. This dude literally risks his life just so we can all gather in 1 location for an hour or two and watch a 15-20 dollar per ticket movie
It’s sad how everyone hates him because of the cult he’s in. Everyone who’s acted with him on set, say he’s really nice. Not just that but, that man raised a black son too
His wild personal life seems to be part of his attraction, like some other celebrities: Brad and Angelina, Ben Affleck and JLo, Will and Jada, Kanye and Kim, Johnny Depp, Britney's custody battle, etc... Alot of their personal info doesn't need to be released. Britney's PR staff could just say she's retired from spotlight and still get help for her personal situation without getting media involved. Any publicity is good publicity for some. Tom's latest Mission Impossible movie was its top grossing, so something is working!
To live his life....I'm not sure how many amazing stories he will be able to tell until he just collapses from exhaustion. By the time he reaches....'Oh...and my 1,198th most amazing experience was....'
It's probably not worth mentioning, but I'm sure they had to do a little CGI to hide the ropes and restraints and possibly add/hide some stuff in the background (which is normal in most movies/tv shows) but besides that, all real... Very impressive. I have a little anxiousness when taking off inside a passenger plane.. let alone taking off while barely strapped to the outside of a military cargo plane.

March of the following year I flew over the Nazca plain in a Cessna Grand Caravan to see the drawings on the ground. Altitude was probably about 6K ft, not high at all in the grand scheme. But that flight -- only about 30 mins -- was the bumpiest flight I've ever taken! I had to actually stop taking pics out the window, close my eyes and focus to stop feeling motion sickness. Got on the ground & my tour guide, great guy named Paul, said "You look a little green, sit down on this bench & get yourself back together." I'm still grateful to this day. Yeah, there were no more thoughts of adrenaline-junkiedom like Cruise's.

Tom Cruise is really badass action movie actor. Handsome crazy madman. I like this guy, i respect him. And of course, those unknown stunmens and stungirls are awesome too.
I've always loathed Tom Cruise but his drive and ability to push on through and learn new stuff at his age impresses me; maybe a tad envious of that myself...
Always been a fan since the outsiders... He is just an incredible performer.. and humble... always including the stunt coordinators and fellow castmates.
this scene would have had so much ipact on audiences if they hadn't put it in the trailer. that ruined it for me I stayed away from all the trailers for mi6 and I had a blast with the movie this weekend
I totally get this. I saw both Law Abiding Citizen and John WIck without seeing their trailers, in fact I knew nothing about either movie somehow and thoroughly enjoyed them both more so not knowing the characters were such bad-asses. But Fractal Boy is also right, the trailer is what has made me watch other movies so it really is a tough one. Of course the worst part is something in the trailer that wasn't in the final cut, that's just rude.
What they should have done in the trailers would be to have scenes of him hanging on to the plane on the ground, or maybe even a very clearly CGI scene of him on the plane in flight. Make everyone think "No way, not really, they didn't do that." Then they see the film, oh yes they did!
Not a big fan of Tom Cruise or any actor for that matter, or anything coming out of Hollywood but, besides the insanity of it, I have to be impressed with the level of dedication put into it by everyone. Think of what we could accomplish if everything we all did was done with that discipline and commitment to excellence.
