hey guys welcome back to our house reno series! Today is episode 4 of working in our new house! You read it right….we do have mold! It’s unfortunate but in the weeks to come we will go through the process of removing it. For now we are continuing our process with demo. Averys siblings were able to help us out this week. Our last house was a total gut, it had a really bad smell, smoky and musty.we used the kilz and zimmer primer worked great, on the wood we used the oil base. I know oil based is a hassle but it did work better. Good luck!!

Just a suggestion. You've mentioned the odor of cigarette smoke. Use Kilz Restoration primer on all your walls before you paint. This will seal in the odor where as if you just paint, the odor can seep through the paint and you'll still smell it. This primer is also great for covering up stains.
