My mom had some plastic crackable eggs that came with a box, and normal and scrambled eggs. I LOVED them. I still have them. Crackable eggs are precious! Homemade or not, they're so cool
As someone who has worked in the early years, this is fantastic! Pretend play is so crucial for understanding of the world and toys that are natural or made with things like cloth are really great. Plastic toys are good up to a point but these give more sensory stimulation and can help kids learn about the world better.
I’m a couple months late, but I would have used a blanket stitch. It can give it a cute, quaint appearance, but I also think it makes appliqué pieces like this look more finished. If you can’t hide the stitches entirely, might as well use cute visible stitches. I made a bunch of felt and amigurumi foods for my kid when he was little. He’s a teen now, and those toys have since gone through all of his younger cousins and then were passed on to my brother-in-law’s nieces and nephews. I figure as long as they’re getting played with until they fall apart, they’ve served their purpose, lol.
Reminds me of the double-sided giant felt board that I made for my kids! It grew more and more felt pieces as my kids' imagination grew over the years! Always new felt board pieces to find! Homemade Christmas tree decorations, stocking stuffers, Easter baskets, and cheery, funny lunchbox surprises! Great memories! Thank you for reminding me ☺️🥰
I made my oldest granddaughter a "bag lunch " out of felt. It was a sandwich, cheese, ham, lettuce, and tomato. I know i made more, but its been 13 years!
I failed home economics sewing even though i knew how to sew only bc i sewed my felt crafts like that but a bit bigger bc i loved and still love the stylw
I understand people's choice to avoid foods that are unethically obtained but...my chickens live their best life scavenging in my back yard all day and the eggs I gather are 10x better because of it. My uncle used to raise cattle and we would gather around the diner table, giving thanks as we ate. I research the foods I buy because I care about where my food comes from, but that doesn't mean all animal products are unethical. If anything, I would argue that incorporating foods in play, like this, provides us with the opportunity for teaching moments around topics such as this.
Reconsider that most people consider themselves omnivores and you are very very disrespectful of their beliefs. Me personally, I love some eggs and bacon in the morning 🍳🥓
This is the kind of toy that gets passed down through generations.
Nah it'll probably get thrown out before the kid has a chance to pass it down.
@@goober112you don’t just throw something handmade away, even if it’s just some felt…

Yesss
Yeah, because it won’t be played with much.
That is adorable. I wish I have extra space to make a whole play kitchen for my daughter.
We have the Duktig kitchen from IKEA and it’s the perfect size! It’s not too big at all.

"As someone who has WORD in the early years"
What the heck is THAT supposed to mean? 🤨🤔🤦🤷🙄👎
@@JediLoreen It is meant to say worked. Thanks for spotting the typo!
THESE ARE SO MUCH BETTER than the plastic bs they sell in store.

I love this!
If you paint those eggs white and add a matte varnish it'll really look extra amazing ❤
Look but not feel! Texture is important too. :)
Eggs in the UK are usually that beige colour lol, I think it looks perfect! I forgot yours look different 😂
The best eggs are brown
i think it would be interesting if you added some orange/brown stitching to the edges to make it look cooked!
You could have put a second white layer after stitching the yolk
I remember my tea set and my kitchenette were my FAVORITE things to play with. Of course other kids would come and destroy everything
That is cute and clever. It's definitely a longer-lasting project, too.
Very cute idea. I would have loved these as a kid.

I bought a bunch from Coco Village during a huge sale and did this. My boys love them
I love that!
Cute ❤❤❤❤

Genuine question, if you're making a felt on felt toy, why not just felt them together instead of stitching them together?
That’s too cute 🥹.
If you paint them egg colors, my easily entertained brain would be so happy
One sided yolk, 2 layers of white
Such a cute idea!
So cute!!
Omg I love it

Omg how cuteee!!!
A little cotton ball sewed in and yummy❤
u dont have to stitch at all, u can felt- stabbing the fibers together to bond w a needle
that would require a felting needle! It’s different from classic sewing needles
If you did it on the sewing machine you could use 2 colors
Use two white pieces to cover the yellow stitches. ❤
Ate you going to paint the egg shells?
You could have cut two white pieces. Sew the yolk to one, then sew the white pieces together so you dont see the yellow stitching.
❤
Crochet the egg
Clear thread
When the little one flips the egg. Will be perfect
I thought those were potatoes
Carrots and eggs?
Eggs and carrots for Easter
Anne, eggs are chicken ovulation. They are usually taken from birds in terrible conditions. Please rethink your consumption of them.

Good thing these are fake eggs. You can rest easy now. Lol
