Lovely. Obviously recorded years ago, with a young Nelsons. Alas, he has, as one Viennese paper has called it, become "behäbig" in recent times. I have attended my home town team, the Boston Symphony, over the years, and must confess I get less impressed with Nelsons. He is a musician of exceptional talent. Yet somehow I wonder whether he has found the kind of music in which he is fully at home and alive. His performances are beautifully played, but lack that essential spark of passion that makes them thrilling and memorable.
