Just bought a 2020 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost Sport Supercrew with 6.5ft box and it is by far the best truck I have ever owned. It rides like a Cadillac and tows like my old F-250. There is more room in the back of the cab than my dad's old Grand Marquis. I traded my 2016 F-150 5.0L with 6 speed automatic because it just SCREAMED when towing. No problems with the EcoBoost. I went with the Magma Red and I've never gotten more compliments on any vehicle I've owned. I've added the typical accessories - mud flaps, tonneau cover, etc., and the only thing I plan to do now is add a catch can for engine blow-by.
I have a 2020 and had to take my catch can off because I was losing mpg for some reason. From my understanding they are not needed for ours because of the dual port injection.
What led you to replace it. Was it squeaking really bad? I have a bad squeak forming from what appears to be the water pump pulley. Mechanic says it could just be the belt.
My dad has 2014 3.5 V6, he has 167K miles on it, only thing he has changed is coil pack, tires and Mobil 1 synthetic every 7K miles, I have driven it, has lots of power
Great video, just bought a new 2019 F-150 XLT with the chrome package and learned a few things I did not know. Will be reading the owners manual right away
The 3.5L is also used in the GT 40 which won Lemans... my local Ford Dealer has a 2019 GT40 in their showroom... and an airfield in the back... now thats a test track..
Have 2018 4x4 3.5 10 speed EcoBoost love it pull 10,000 pound tractor no sweat pass chevys and dodge's all day. You can pull what ever speed you want. Had 2015 EcoBoost loved it too 6 speed.
We just got a brand new 2020 Ford F150 XLT sport crew cab with this 3.5 L TwinTurbo eco-boost and it destroys our old 2014 ram ecodiesel crew cab. The new truck drives smoother, has a lot more power and torque.
Two years ago I bought a 2016 Ford Transit van with an EcoBoost 3.5 engine. It gets great gas mileage. I don't know what the HP is. It's a V6. The steering wheel has chrome and is leather covered. It was setup at the factory with the trailer tow package, and a backup camera.
Just bought a 2019 xlt 3.5 and I love it. What convinced me was a man I met with a 2016 3.5 with 240,000 miles. He said just regular maintenance and no problems. He gave it to his son and purchased a 2019 3.5.
Just purchased one very similar to this. Full size bed, though. Love it so far. I swear it sounded less stressed uphill towing a 6500lb load than the 2006 Ram 5.9 I was driving a week ago. Still have a lot of “tests” to put it through, but great truck so far.
Nice. But how is the engine for longevity ands maintenance costs!!!!! I had my last f150 for 15 years and it was far from trouble free. (5.4 Triton) Ford has a habit of redesigning things and never builds something solid and sticks with it. They could use a few lessons from TOYOTA, if it works don't fix it!
@@chandlerthoma9173 I have a 2000 ford expedition eddie bauer with the 5.4 L triton V8 engine and I don't have any problems... 179,800 miles and only oil and filter changes but that's it... It is strong. I love it...
Chandler Thoma yes. I know, but I think engine situations are unique to every owner. Because maybe maintenance, how they drive, etc etc... but.. thanks for replying. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
They keep ahead of the curve. Other trucks have issues too. All have problems with the fast pace world of technology. Take care of the vehicle will last awhile.
mine is a 2019 model and has 18000 miles on it recently when it sits over night when i start it the engine it sounds like a diesel engine for couple of second ,it only do that when it sits for 7-8-9 hours. what could be wrong?

Changed my timing chain last week... 171,000 miles before going into limpmode. Bad ass motor! Love my ecoboost

Fun fact: for some reason this truck is called LOBO in Mexico.
Lobo means wolf in Spanish, and to me it sounds more bad ass than some numbers

That colour looks much better with the XTR Chrome package. Just glimmers like a proper classic should.

My 2019 F150 sport has the Coyote V-8. Runs like a champion!
In my 2017 F-150 you can display the turbo boost gauge by selecting Truck Info/Gauge Display
I believe a tuned version of the 3.5L ecoboost powers the new Ford GT, 600+ HP with good durability and reliability.
yes, it's the 3.5
Wanted a 6.2 gm so bad but you have to get it in a loaded up trim. Ford offered the 3.5 in almost every trim so that’s the direction he went.
Looks like you are driving through Allen Park MI where I grew up.
Picking mine up this Tuesday!!! Do you still need to buy an oil collector? Have they figured that all out???
Did you pick it up? If so how are you liking it ?

It's been reliable for ford, that's why they put it in the GT, raptor and now the explorer. Got to keep up on oil changes though

Excellent intro
The power numbers on the 5.0 are wrong......it 395 and 400lbs Hass been since 2018. Good video otherwise👍

@@gilianrampart8514 It's okay that you're a moron. I completely understand.
So do all ecoboost not have sport?
sport is a trim level, ecoboost 2.7 or 3.5 is available on a non-sport trim
Dose the 2020 have this twin turbo?
Yes it does. These engines lived on into the next gen, too.
2021 gets 400 500 and it rips!
Tacoma holds value better
Tacoma is a cute little toy hauler. There is no comparison to a real truck like an F-150. Tundra is very good too, but the gas mileage is awful.
🇺🇸 trucks are better. Tacoma’s are for guys who wear girl jeans
