FIRST IMPRESSIONS of LAOS! (Chaing Rai to Laos in local bus)

After spending 2 months in Thailand and exploring what the north of Thailand has to offer, we are leaving Chiang Rai and taking a bus to the Laos border (Friendship bridge)
In order to to Loas from Chaing Rai, we needed to hop onto a local bus at bus terminal 1 and then get dropped off on the side of the road, where a tuk tuk will take us to the boarder. This will be the first time we take a tuk tuk to a boarder. We did not know what to expect at the Loas boarder but it seemed pretty simple to cross. Once we were stamped out of Thailand, we headed over the Mekong river towards Laos. The Mekong river is the
th longest river in the world.
Once we arrived at the Loas boarder control, we got our visa on arrival, and hopped onto the back of a van and headed to Huay Xai, A little town on the boarder of North of Thailand. We are super excited to explore Laos as we have many activities planned in this country and i guess this will be our first impressions of Laos.
Just a hint, this country is blowing us away!
