- Chris Thrall is an Ex-Royal Marines Commando who talks through his journey serving his country, to becoming homeless. We discuss his experience of crystal meth addiction while working for a viscous Hong Kong crime syndicate, as a nightclub doorman. Chris was forced to survive in the world's most unforgiving city, hooked on the world's most dangerous drug.

Dodge, thanks for a great chat, mate, and to your wonderful subscribers for watching. If you're reading this and no one told you you're a MASSIVE legend today ... then I just did ☀❤👊🏼
My pleasure Chris and I really enjoyed our chat. Love your energy and how your mind ticks.
Good man 🙏
Nice one Brother 👍
@mikekeating3213 Nice one Buster! To celebrate my Veteran of the Year award I'm taking a team of novices up to the Arctic for 7 days of survival and ski training in March and I'm rowing across the Atlantic in December to raise awareness of veterans suicide and funds for bereaved service kids. If you want in on either mate just say the word as you're the epitome of the Royal Marines' ethos and it would be good to have you aboard 🙏👊☀️
Chris you’re amazing! I want to hear more! ♥️♥️♥️👏👏👏👏👏💯🌹
Thanks for the interview, always love seeing your story and how your grew from it.
Chris Thrall is a warrior 🪖🇬🇧. Thank you for your service 🙏🇬🇧
Always loved this guy. Has a good channel and is one of few public figures brave enough to speak out on corruption/matrix
Chris has offered me life coaching for 60 quid an hour and took the opportunity to inform me that I am operating at a lower dimension to him and that I am stuck in the 4th dimension. I asked Chris how he managed to make that assessment considering he doesn't know me at all and how he came to that conclusion.
Chris had no answer to these questions and since deleted his comment.
To be honest this doesn't sound like an enlightened persons comment.
Anyway I am not here to bash Chris, I am just being open and honest. I have previously supported his channel from UA-cam and Locals but after those low dimension comments, why would I support that?
The bloke is nothing but a GRIFTER and a fantasist with a massive EGO.
Bang on
Agreed.
Everyone even you Renegade can have a bad day 🇬🇧
@user-yb9sm5jp5u Everyone can have a bad day, yes, exactly. When I have a bad day, I don't try to put others down, and I certainly don't try to cash in on it.
There is nothing wrong with being open, honest, and transparent. That's all I'm doing here mate.
Great to have Chris on! He’s a great guy with an all encompassing view of life. His channel covers a wide range of stuff including spiritual and physical health.
I’ve been watching Chris’s channel for years he’s a top top bloke love the fact that you brought him on your podcast 👏
I have been following Chris for 2 years now and he has definitely helped me on my inner journey, what a top bloke ❤
As a plymouthian I can honestly say this is the best pod you've done yet dodge!
Chris is such a genuinely lovely man. What a story. I would highly recommend his UA-cam channel to anyone who has been through tough times or to anyone who knows there is so much more to this life. Thanks Dodge for a great interview. 💚⭐️😁
Nice one dodge, love your interviews with the ex forces, could listen to their stories all day, Chris reminds me of staz so much with his energy and the way he tells a story, great work mate 👌🏻
Best one yet what a life Chris as had so far 👏🏻
Dodge you are such an amazing interviewer. I watched another very well know UA-camr (I’m sure ppl can guess who) and saw him push a very vulnerable man into a full ptsd episode, proper shaking having flash backs, retraumatising, the guy and just for views pushed and pushed until the guy got to his worse point. You have so much compassion and come across very trauma informed, whilst still getting the story without hurting anybody. That’s a huge pat on the back for you. I don’t know your past but I’ve never seen you traumatise anybody and if someone you interview starts to go down a dark path you redirect. You genuinely want to help ppl on your podcast and educate ppl who don’t understand the horrific life of someone living with cptsd or ptsd. I can’t praise you enough. You don’t appear to do anything just for views you just want to let the person speak safely without damaging them further. Good on you isn’t enough to say.
Great great interview as always.
Hey Kylie - what a lovely message to read and it means a lot to myself and our small team.
Thanks and have a lovely evening 🙏💛
@@DodgeWoodall credit where it’s due. You help a lot of people. 😊
Thought I’d heard the last of Chris 🤣 he believes it at least 🤣
What do you mean?
This was a great interview. Chris is a good man .thank you.
Chris is Awake to all the Agendas. great guy ..❤
Been following Chris for years what a decent bloke can't wait to watch this thanks mate !
Dodge did a good job keeping Chris on track- I bump into Chris a few times in HK when he was door man at Neppies (Neptune). I was interviewed by him once about life in Royal Hong Kong Police. He’s a bit mad.
You know, this has to be probably the best interview channel on the entire internet! Really interesting, it is great to hear someone that is really interested in his guests. The characters are so broad ranging, their lives are fascinating. Keep this going, I can listen to this sort of content for hours. Real lives, a real interviewer with no agenda, just getting them to talk, fantastic content, thank you so much for all of your work Dodge! Appreciated.
What a lovely message Richard and much appreciated 🙏
Dodge flies straight.
His guests like many other UA-camrs have are not always what they appear to be.
They talk a good talk
Their motives aren’t always apparent tho
Make what you want of that
Addicted to meth(I heard him give some ridiculous amount that made no sense), took on the triads single handedly. His story when he first came out is now even more embellished. I love this channel but don't believe half of what this bloke says.
Totally agree lol
DONT HATE GUYS APPRECIATE
It sounds far-fetched and exaggerated to me. As an ex servicemen myself, I felt a little insulted that Chris offered me life coaching for no reason other than he wanted to make 60 quid an hour. He knows nothing about me. I am actually living the dream abroad, great job, lovely family etc... I offered Chris my services for free, that's the difference.
Hello Dodge, you have some amazing guests on your show who have had the most incredibly interesting lives. Chris Thrall is one of them and a very nice bloke. Look forward to reading his books, thank you.
Good man Richard 👍🏼👍🏼
Blimey
What a life !
Dodge ,you and your guests are so entertaining.Hats off 👊
Once again D amazing interview so much respect to how it's done, loons or not you always respect I love that
Hi Dodge, just subscribed, I'm a true believer in awakening awareness and spiritual growth though life experiences, I've had the pleasure to say Chris has helped me get to know better the constructs of aiming higher, we're all legendary, being brought together as a consciously aware community is of the essence, particularly in the days we live in, hats off to you both for uploading this episode, I'd tell anyone who is reading this that another ace podcast is Chris Thralls bought the Tee shirt, really amazing content, thanks again, keep smiling, massive respect, peace and love, JX
Hi Dodge. smashed it again, what a lovely man, well done
Another great interview Dodge!!
What an interesting character Chris is!
Wonderful, this so has a Chris part 2 to come , hasn't it, thank you both.
The whole psychosis and drug fuelled conspiracy had me in stitches, I related big time 😂😂 but the commando crawl would have been the end of me. LOVE this guy, biggest respect. Never comment before I finish the podcast but you got me cracking up laughing thank you lads ❤
Very powerful. Great podcast 👍🏼
Greetings from Australia. Bloody good show lads. 👍
This episode should be a cracking 1 cant wait to listen & watch this ❤😊😮
I think you’ll enjoy this episode Michael.
All the best 😊
Wow. Loved this. I was on the same tour in the same Base but was attached to the same Company from Support Company. I got a GOC NI Commendation for capturing a terrorist. It is a certificate that turned up in the post and said well done for capturing an armed gunman. The terrorist had 2 weapons on him (a pistol and sawn of shotgun) and a17 further weapons at his home. He ran down an alleyway and I flanked and challenged him as he excited the alley. Royal Marines never seemed to get any awards as the Army - the Royal Marines Officers at this time were so arrogant they would never put their men up for an award! I also had to go back to the Diplock court in West Belfast - a court run with no jury and was not found guilty I was involved in many more incidents and it was much more busy than I thought it would be.
Busy place I served there 1988-89 Fort Whiterock
I was 18yrs old my 1st tour was Belfast 6months 1991 ❤I can relate to everything he's talking about on this podcast especially Northern Ireland it was crazy times but fun 😁 😂
Great chat guys .. glad we didn't have to go over to social 😅
What a gent. deffo in the top 10 of your episodes.
Dodge is spot on, Thrall is a fantasist in what he claims. No doubt he was in the Marines, but knowing some of the Marines who knew him, backs up the latter.
What's the word on the street then?
Yeah I think drugs have messed him up. No idea what he was on about half the time.
@@psy-op as a former 25 year Paratrooper and having been in Northern Ireland over 5 years, I can tell you this fantasist is talking rubbish. The man’s of his rocker and prolific liar to up his ego and image.
@SJDV63 ex 7th brother, 5th airborne at North Camp in the 80,s.
I think he is honest about his service, a nice sunshine tour and Ireland and Norway what's wrong with that? Who were you with and based where what rank did you leave with?
@@psy-op 80 / 05. You’ll know Jock Love? Not questioning his service as I said in my opening comment, it’s fantasy during his time in service and his Chinese tales. 1 Para.
Really enjoyed this thanx
Great podcast Dodge ! Love Chris’s podcast too . Great man and genuine . So much truth spoken ❤️👍

I enoy all the forces episodes they tell it as it is dodge they dont lie & sugar coat anything what some or nearly all men & women go through in the forces on duty joe bloogs on the street would not even get past day of training 😊
True words Michael 👏👏
This guy cant half waffle..
19 to full screw in 3 years? Thats unheard of. .Dodge did well to sit through this 1 lol..
shut it nobber
@@Sarky39 aww u ok hun xx
I lived next to the RAF camp
I'm sorry but I have to say something. Have any other Royal Marines seen this. It's so full of holes that it's embarrassing. It's like Swiss cheese.
Just a few of the big ones.
The endurance course is on Woodbury Common, not Exmoor. You spend half your training up there you would never forget.
SBS guys do not meet recruits at the station.
Drill Leaders would not thin you out to the NAFFI every lesson. The drill square is right in front of the officers mess for a start.
DLs take their jobs very seriously, especially in basic training. It's a huge part of the discipline.
You would not describe the SA80 as a fully automatic machine gun.
The notice period is 12 months, not 18. Another detail you wouldn't forget.
I'm not saying you weren't in the Marines but it does look very suspicious to anyone who has gone through CTCRM. I went through in 96, 28 years ago and remember every detail.
I get it was a long time ago and you have had a tough time. But you are on a big platform. At least do a bit of revision before you talk about it again.
You have had quite a few ex military on now, Dodge. The ones I have seen, their stories stack up. Chris Thralls, doesn't, it falls apart in the first 10 minutes.
hoofing
I was RN ETWE even I found major holes
@groovechemist2702 A true Booty.
The guy has long been full of 💩 it’s embarrassing really.
wow, so much in this one. immense!
Well done Chris and Dodge 🤝☺️
Great intreview Gents.
Winston Wong...... That wasn't lost on me Dodge 😂😂
😉
8k plus rolex sea dweller nice
Love these ex sas guys not all about the beef, they are only humans suffering the same shit in life
No sas here
not SAS
The accent is amazing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
enjoyed this one..good to describe the hit etc of drugs and other experiences chungking mansions up in nathan rd what a dump! wan chai is like soho but safer causeway bay is the neighouring district overall both good areas but u do get the side streets that are a bit iffywas laughing when u were swearing in chinese
Ohhhh i forgot about this guy.. i used to watch his channel.. dunno why he doesnt show up anymore

The SA -70/80 rifles aren’t very good are they apparently ?! - 😂-keyboard warrior here
Drug addict who worked on the door in HK. Not really what I was expecting.
Should have asked him when Brendan O’Connell exposed him as a bit of a phoney.
Talks a good talk but it’s all an act
Take off your mask lad. Few of us are all over you.
I call him a Super Walt. Did a bit of service. However, he appears to exagerate it and IMO tell compleat and utter lies to make himself sound good.
He talks about having no ego he has the biggest one I have ever seen. I say this with a bit of authority because I have met the man in person.
more embarrassed that hes an example of those who served honest careers
@Abefroman1812 basically he portrays himself as anti establishment, he says hes enlightened to how the system really works, were all getting fingered blah blah blah.
Sounds great and it attracts my attention. What you find with many of these characters is that they're not really against the system. They're winging it. He thinks he's the real deal. He's not one of us.
Basically he had Brendon on his show. Brendon lost his rag and called him out as a phoney. I'd have to watch it again to remember exactly what got said but it showed Walter mitty for what he is.
@Abefroman1812 scary thing is so many sheep lap his shit up and are impressed.
Nothing we didnt know about 95% of the population tho tbf
He's a fkin oddball imo
Might be totally wrong btw in all of this...
But my gut tells me he's a absolute bellend
I don't think this is the platform for it. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who thinks he's a bit of a shill. His day will come.
Every guest delivers so much positivity after so much destruction either self or third party.
All your guests give so much motivation, these guys are changing lives every day from this channel.
Huge respect
I was in NI the year before Chris joined up. All of the "players" were known and catalogued. It was a very bizarre situation and the watershed moment for me to never take anything the media says at face value. I'll need to pull up my boot straps and get a move on, I'm only 73 countries and 40 US states! I ended up in HK, in 1995 and it was phenomenal, spent 6 fantastic years there before moving to the USA. I had an ex GF that ended up on meth (or "shabu", as she referred to it), she looked as gorgeous as ever when I bumped into her in Wan Chai, the lights were on but nobody was home. Coincidentally, I met her in Neptunes II.
I've watched Chris a few times now, and to be honest I always thought his story was a bit far fetched. I can remember thinking, fuck me Jonny!! Sly would struggle to make this a movie!!! But I'm an recovering addict and I've made so many mistakes over the past 25 years Chris!! I honestly hope you don't just me for this comment mate. It's just complete chaos when I'm drinking of drugging, so it was nothing but shear ignorance. I'm so
Got to be honest, this was a mess until about 1hr 15 in. I'd much rather listen to what is clearly a now remarkable story, than the incoherent ramblings of what was then a madman.
Someone must have served with him, it’s not like there’s only a few marines out there.
Madness great pod both fair play to Chris what a guy !
10% Truth at best.... 90% ABSOLUTE FUCKING WAFFLE 😂
Fair Play Dodge putting up with the bullshit for as long as you did 👏
Brought the T-shirt podcast has been my number 1 listening for the last couple years 🙏❤
This was quality, best pod for along time... Would like to see him back again to into the finer details of the ending.
I was based in Hong Kong early 90’s I used to go to neptunes one and two, pussycats, big apple in wanchai, good times.
Hello Dodge great interview Chris is a legend God Bless....🫶
Not sure on this chap
who cares .. the rain cancelled your evening dogging sess where you watch the wife guzzle on a big black one so you come on here writing pants?
Let's go 😊 tea made erm cigarettes rolled ❤
Lived in Beijing for 13 years 10 years ago. Have been to Hong Kong many times. Lived some of your Chinese life. Crazy times. You brought back many memories. Love your attitude today. Respect. Glad your where you are in life.
Has anyone noticed the military is full of trauma victims with drug or alcohol abuse stories. This makes a poor military. You have to wonder about recruitment.✌️❤️🇬🇧
I am ex military no victim here or drug addict 🤣
My brother wiv no drug / alcohol addiction or abuse neither is he victim
I don’t think it fair to say “the military is full of trauma victims with drug or alcohol abuse stories” because it isn’t however I would like to know how you personally would cope with the stress of combat which has been especially intense for periods in recent history. You strike me as perhaps being a little disrespectful to HMForces, perhaps I’m incorrect.
I don’t agree with your statement here. I served and have never taken drugs and don’t drink. What frustrates me however are the guys who jump on the old PTSD bandwagon. The reality is, those individuals had mental health problems prior to joining and hid it very well whilst serving. It’s only when they leave the military and can’t look after themselves do they then claim PTSD. The handful of guys I know who have done this all have the same trait.. alcohol and drug abusers with a victim mentality. The one guy I know claimed to have PTSD.. baring in mind he did nothing whilst serving apart from work in the store room and was a well documented drug abuser and alcoholic. He was also awful when he served. Chris is no different.
What a load of bollocks this guy couldn't fight himself out of a paper bag
Mate your podcasts are by far the best ones out there.
You bring the best out of people.Apart from being a hammer you are bang on the mark👍🏻 COYL🦁

He says do the work but what is the work?
Full'o'shite, his book eating smoke is a load of rambling nonsense aswell.
