Best too fish them slow it's all about the speed and cast slightly upstream and let it swing round.took me a while but I get lots of salmon fishing them esp black or bright colours depending on clarity and height
The river has been running dirty last few days due to the Bogend burn again, reported to SEPA as i have been doing last 6yrs, ART informed and video provided, at this critical time of the year this is not acceptable, The Bogend burn has been a problem over the last 6yrs, the problem is SEPA doesnt have the authority to enforce action against the farmer, catch 22 situation, guess i'll always be reporting this cattle fouling problem until someone actually does something about it. salmon have been waiting a while to get up river and now the water has risen, there's no stopping them, cool video again bud thanks.
I think the no fishing on a sunday comes from back in the day when you were ment to be in church on a sunday and not salmon fishing. Its kind of outdated but that is the law here in scotland
might try a worm. Never caught a salmon on a worm before. Usually fly fish or lures. Just makes it easier than having to find bait. used to worm fish alot. Maybe will give it a try
@afishermansdiarywithiainup5377 I had one and lost another yesterday on the Leven with the worm after fishing a devon through and other people using all manners of lures, worm has its time and place
@stewartsimpson2236 that's just what fly only knobs say to justify trying to make everywhere fly only, if you strike when you feel the fish you're fine, pretty sure the Ayr allows fishing float and prawn too, that's another deadly method which never deep hooks for a bit of variety
Cheers from Peter in Maine USA. Thank you for your videos. I enjoy your voice and commentary; fish or no it is fun and great.

Ok I get you. I thought it was just something that happened when the river went up. I guess it makes sense it must have come from somewhere. Thanks

I suppose it depends on river rules and if you want to practice catch & release - worms typically result in the fish being deep hooked ??

@@ROSSLINDEN0 I was just asking a question - it so happens I only fly fish but I wouldn't consider myself a knob - thanks for your comment 👍
