Great explanation. I love rules!!!
Will the strong be too harsh for soft/ sensitive cured paint?
I’ll have to compare to the M122 surface prep I’ve been usint
I have M122. I really question how strong it is. I don’t really know. 🤷🏻♂️
Won't an alcohol/water mix perform the same results to remove any gloss or filler?
The difference between dedicated panel prep like Gyeon Prep, Car Pro Eraser, Optimum Paint Prep or Rupes Reveal in that case is - lubrication. Water and IPA mix is great for removing polish residue, but it provides no lubrication, thus you run the risk of marring the paint, while checking for defects. You will run circles around yourself thinking that you did not remove the scratches, while in reality - you were the one that installed them while inspecting the paint. There is the other side of the coin as well - some panel preps can be too harsh, and while you spray them on the panel, they itself can marr the finish.
Fillers are usually kaolin clay based but sometimes oils but it can happen from overheating the paint (swelling during buffing)
Carpro Eraser😉
Sorry..... But the best Prep spray I have ever used is 2 parts Original Windex and 1 part Acetone. Available at any hardware store and around $35 makes 3 GALLONS!!!!
Alcohol based?

I like Rupees products, but this is teaching to suck eggs. There are a ton of products that can do the job.
