You wouldn’t happen to have the gm part # would you? I ordered a lever for the 03+ ZF6 and it was out of stock everywhere in North America. I never found the # for 01-02
Side Note: Always put your trucks trans in neutral before pulling the shifter base. This will assure a no headache alignment when installing the new base.
@@cornelius6304 I’m in New England and zf5’s and zf6’s for Fords are pretty common around here. Chevys on the other hand are hard to find. Took me awhile to locate one for myself
How do you like the short throw set up, thinking of swapping my LB7/ZF6 Chevy 3500 dually to a short throw, just recently redone clutch, master and slave cylinders.
I love how tight it is. I don’t like how much noise it brings into the cab and how much effort R and L now take. I’m going to work on building an improved stock shifter in the future
They sell brand new ones for full size GM trucks. I don't think they make them for the S -10 p/u though. I think they're about $50. I've been trying to find a good one for my 97 S10 for awhile. I found a dealer who has a new old stock shifter, but they want $250 for it. I'll live with my old sloppy shifter for that price. I think Hurst may have stopped making the shifter for the NVG 3500. That's what Summit Racing told me anyway.
Yes it’s a short throw. The detent for the reverse/low is tight but it’s so tight I have to flex the shifter to get into the gate. It hasn’t gotten any easier after a few thousand miles unfortunately
@@spankranchgarage This is sort of embarrassing ha, But I took my shifter apart over a year ago because I was looking to modify it. At the time I took pictures of the assembly and how it came apart but unfortunately that phone got damaged and I lost my pictures. Would you be willing to send me some detailed pictures of the underside?
That's one unicorn of a truck right there 4X4 Duramax Manual, dream set up.
Sure is man! I love it, I wish they made more of them
I’ve got the same one
I have a 2006 Duramax with a 6 speed manual. Love my truck!
The quality of your hands working that knob made me clear my browser history after watching this video.
Glad I could help!!!
Love my zf6 f350 with the early 99 forged rod 7.3.
For future reference, the OEM shift lever is still available. I bought one new last winter. Cool video

@@OlayerB got mine from GMPartsDirect or one of those type of sites. Punch the part number into google and you’ll find them.

Good tip!
Wish I could find one of those gm zf transmissions but they made almost virtually none.
As of now the Ford zf6 are very hard to come by.

I want that zf6speed behind the 07-14 duramax.

Would you sell your old shifter and housing that you removed?

Is this factory or swapped
Factory!
is that considered a short shifter? and the reverse and 1st gear actually have a safety feature which is why its harder to put it in gear

What length is the shifter
I sold this shifter so I dont know. It was comparable in length to the stock shifter.
I think it's time for another shifter video in the works 😬
Can somebody till where can I find this which website cuz I’m from Middle East
Core shifters
Did you keep the OEM shift tower?
Yes I did. I have some plans for it.
