Another similarity I find between chess and life is that every action you take has a consequence. In chess every time you make a move, you weaken a square or a piece or you improve your position, similarly in life every time you say or do something to someone, it registers a positive or negative feeling for you in them.

Don’t try to anticipate the whole game before you play it. You just can’t!
The key is to Start playing the game.

The best lesson i got was "If you are taking too much time to make a move, that means you don't know what to do. And that's the time when the chances of you making a blunder are the most"

We understand that we have only a chance to give our best move not to think about the end and overthink

I don't know if this qualifies as a lesson but still I go- a loosing king doesn't get killed. Simply we leave the game there and call it checkmate meaning loss or failure does not mean loss of dignity/self worth. How profound!

Does chess leads to overthinking? I mean you play on the board or on your computer/mobile phones and spend thinking yours and your opponent's next 2-3 moves and its possible effects. So doesn't our brain starts functioning that way for real life scenarios as well and make us overthink in every little things that happened to us.

I learned from chess that You should not let your ego kill you
    Like for example
The other opponent is 1300 elo 300 points lower than me
So should i chill and think ah he is lower than me i will alywas win
Nah man you have to find best move in every possible position....

Can you also check out, review and clarify topics in this webtoon I started reading recently called 'Dr. Frost' - it's about a clinical psychologist who tries to understand his own brain while counseling a variety of patients. Very interesting & adventurous story and it covers topics like Borderline personality disorder, OCD, hypnosis, trauma, brain and neuroscience too
