Let me know what you think of my first attempt at a Thousand Sons marine 😀
Awesome thanks for responding i live in holland though so thats going to be hard.. but you use em for metalics realy? Dont you eat through them, and yeah it looks awesome been painting for around 1100 points so still veryyyy new
@pimschoenmakers1484 hey! I’m in Australia but the brushes I use come from the UK so they are close to you and have an online store with shipping 👍
You’ll find that you go through any brand of brush over time even the most expensive. My advice is you don’t throw them out, they just serve new purposes. When a brush loses quality I stop using it for fine details and start using it effect paints etc. And yep I use them for metallics! Key is to clean the brushes and don’t let the paint get all the way into the area where all the hairs join the handle. 👍
Sir from everything I know about painting thousand sons, painting the gold AFTER the blue is Insane you are a mad man and I'm here for it lol
It looks fantastic!!! I'm looking forward to the Fanatic range especially with how Army Painter prices their paints they look great
Hahaha! 😆 glad to have you onboard then. You are welcome to jump into our discord and give me some pointers on painting thousand sons! 😀
Wow! I’m surprised that Daemonic Yellow looks like it went down so smooth over the blue and didn’t need a base coat of a darker yellow or bone beneath it. Amazing results again, Mike!
Yeah same! I wanted to test that to really push the capability of the paint and was impressed 👍
Another brilliant video dude
Thanks Wayne 😀👍 what’s a type of video or painting guide you’d like to see next?
Trugg and the truggoths would be great to see maybe some more ork and definitely more nurgle
All is dust homie.
Shout out to Iskandar Khayon
😀🤙
I came here to say I already chose violence but I wanted to see blue as well
🤣🤣 awesome!
Glad I found your channel. Great video production and the model looks amazing. Was originally trying to find that cool terminator with Black armor and blue edge highlights.
Amazing! Thanks so much Justin you’ve made my day 🤙 Did you end up finding the video? The video surrounds our discord painting comps where the winner gets to pick a model and I’ll paint it for them, the next competition starts this weekend 🥳
@@flashingbadgerpainting Yes I did! thats a really cool idea for your channel. keep it going, you got a new member.
I’m glad daddy algorithm brought me here. This was a fun ride
Unreal! So glad the algorithm dragged you across 😀 welcome!
@@flashingbadgerpainting thank you, sir. Glad to be here.
Currently listening while painting my battle sisters army green. I’m calling them “the salamander sisters”. Or “sisters of the salamander”; haven’t decided yet.
Unreal! Feel free to show off your works in progress in our discord if you like. One of the guys is working on Salamanders for Legions Imperialis and they look sweet!

@@flashingbadgerpainting thanks my man, i appreciate that a lot.
Have you played around with either the artist grade pear color acrylic paints or any of the wax based gold paints? The former can get some very fun effects when used for dry brushing and the latter are a great highlight for gold that doesn't de-saturate it the same way as a silver highlight.
Oh cool! No I haven’t. Thanks so much for the advice because I’ll no doubt be painting some more and can test new ways. Thanks for letting me know 👍
@@flashingbadgerpainting sorry I meant pearl color not pear color
Haha lucky I knew what you meant or I was going to be breaking out the fruit 🍐
Looks great!
Thanks so much 😀 I think this one was the most fun to paint. Must be the blues
Thanks for the video, very entertaining! How do you secure the model to the big corque ?
Thanks so much for letting me know you liked it 😀 I use some ‘Scotch’ brand double sided tape. Two small strips. I find that lasts a month or two of swapping out minis I’m painting 👍
Great Tutorial! One question: how did you paint the demonic flesh? br from germany
Thanks!! I played it quite safe here using standard flesh colours such as Bugmans Glow base then highlights with Cadian and Kislev.
A fun way to paint it though like I do for my death guard is a base of Bugmans or Cadian then get two contrast paints, Fyreslayer Flesh and Volupus Pink and wet blend them to meet in the centre of the tentacle.
Then highlight with your brighter flesh tones. Check out my Death Guard showcase to see what I mean 👍
@@flashingbadgerpainting great, thx fo your answer!
Hey man im wondering what brush you use for the trim so the metals, looks like a real sharp one
Hey! The brushes I use are in the description of the video. They are awesome! They are from Rosemary and Co and I’ve been using them since I started painted a few years ago.
The link is an affiliate link so it will take you direct to the brushes I use and if you decide to buy any you can enter code BADGER2023 at the checkout and they help sponsor the channel so I can make more videos 😎
Hope that helps!

Can we get a video of you painting a dreadnaught or something larger ?
Maybe painting a loaf of bread ? With Wyona ryder red colour :)
🤣🤌 you’re the best. I’d love to paint up a larger Thousand Sons model like a Dreadnought or Tank 😀
@@flashingbadgerpainting I look forward to seeing it !
i have a problem: I really want to get the warpaint fanatic range, but I already have a significant number of Vallejo Game Colour paints and GW paints hahaha
Haha! Well I think with both Vallejo and GW you are covered. If someone was buying a new set entering the hobby I’d recommend these as a good set to pickup 👍
Hello Good sir, i just start my journey on warhammer last year, and my first box was the 2022 xchrimas box of tsons howeber i never learn how to paint correctly, but this tutorial give me hope, :D
i like yours colors, is there any list for the everything you used? :D sorry still new to select my own colors
Hello mate, welcome aboard 😀 these paints are from The Army Painter and are their Fanatic Paint range. In the top right of the video I display each of the paint names to help you out if you’d like to use the same that I have in the video. 👍
@@flashingbadgerpainting Thanks dude, i appreciate, what color do you used for the eyes? so it can look that greenish
@salomonyuja2152 black base, dark green covers most of it, then lighter greens ending with a bright green similar to Moot Green
What's a pokienom?
Personally I wouldn’t know because I doing cool stuff like racing cars … and roller blading… wait what?
@@flashingbadgerpainting There was me just being an adult! 🤣
Eye catching because of physical mutations? Grim reminder of devastation? Sounds like my ex-wife.
🤣🤦♀️🤦♀️
Using coloured lights in the show case is really distracting and kind of pretending there is more colour theory in the model then there really is.
Thanks for the feedback 👍 I usually use both during the display, natural so you can see how it turned out and with some coloured lights for fun and to be thematic with the faction or theme.
I’m tipping this one was coloured lights only? Thanks for the heads up and I’ll look to balance both options in the upcoming videos 👍
Rather than it being from a place of painting dishonesty, it’s just me playing around with editing and production as I find my feet cresting these videos 🤌
