There is no way, and I mean NO WAY, I came up with this. I have no memory of this comment and cackled reading this myself.
...They should have just ditched the kids and made Balan playable, at least he has charm, personality and style, make him dress in the costumes, make HIM the one we control.

I don't even know why we play as the kids. I guess to help battle their personal demons if that's where the story is going but Balan has natural powers, based on this bout, is a lot stronger than Lance who so far only spawns some enemies and corrupt people that the kids beat just by jumping at them. If Lance is just causing trouble, Balan seems a hell of a lot more capable than the kids. I don't get the threat. Eggman is more of a threat than Lance.
@@the_shortski6053 Yeah, these kids are just...there, they don't seem any important at all and completely inconsequential, not only that, they are pretty much useless all alone, the game dosn't even give them typical puzzles or platformer challenges that they should naturally be able to do in this type of game, not only that, the costumes are very overused that some are useless/unnessesary/or down right stupid, some of the should be scrapped and that concept behind them used as enhancements for other existing ones.
@@wolfan20 Some of the costumes kinda cancel each other as well. They got a bunny power up that has a flutter jump and a pig power up that can also do that from what I've seen but also has a ground pound. Plus that fox power up that randomly turns you into a box seems more like a hindrance and annoyance. I'd rather just fly through rings, dodging obstacles and shoot enemies as Balan than just bare bones platforming with bare bones puzzles, little to no enemies and frustrating 90 odd power ups that most may not even help like the dragon and flower power ups. Even a third person shooter but his guns and block is just his magic is more interesting than what's here.
It's pretty sad that the GUYS NAME IS IN THE TITLE YET HES REDUCED TO A QTE

Why is Balan’s gameplay reduced to a QTE? You would think they’d make it like Nights or something.
i mean i doubt that sega whould let that slide. might rub some NiGHTS fans the wrong way to seeing them add in NiGHTs gameplay sections without straight up making another one

In the demo you can see a costume slot among the special costumes in the form of a tophat so maybe Balan will be playable in some way once we finish the game, find all of the trophies or finish the Tower o' Tims. It would certainly be a cool feature for the developers to add :)

no yeah its a thing someone actually managed to get up there and see the costume placed on the map. people are guessing that its gonna be found by getting a bunch of rainbow gems or finishing the tower. there are also datamined things that might show an other way to get there but i dont wanna mention that here yet

Sega has nothing to do with this game, if they wanted NIGHTS gameplay they would've added it, instead all they did was boring QTEs.
Strangely enough, I think I'm starting to like Lance more than I like Balan. Though, Balan is still pretty badass...

I think one of the biggest issues I have with this game (aside from the obvious...) is that Balan is the main attraction, but the game seems empty of him as a whole. It's like playing a Sonic game but Sonic only shows up in two cutscenes. In the old NiGHTS games, NiGHTS is there with you for the vast majority of the gameplay so you feel like you always have some sense of help, guidance, and protection, even if he's kind of a prick. Balan just dumps you in his theme park and occasionally lets you watch him beat up a piece of evil corn. I really don't understand why such an amazing character design is so underused. Imagine how much more appealing this game would be if the costumes were based on different Balan-inspired outfits instead of unsettling fursuits!

I keep seeing people refer to NiGHTs in negative ways, I've only played Journey of Dreams so NiGHTs seemed to be nice and laid-back, was NiGHTs a dick in the original Saturn version? 😂
@@lowhp_comic NiGHTS' personality could best be described as, "she's a dick until she gets to know you." Even in Journey of Dreams, she's pretty rude in the first cutscene, asking you to dualize almost immediately, since she wants to have fun. (Du-al-ize!)
I had no idea there was a version of the quick time thing where Balan fights Lance that is cool but in the final game they should focus more on the gameplay of the normals stages and focus on making the costumes have more functions and they should also ad more to the boss fights and remove the mini games and remove the quick time events
I still plan to get this game because I love the game and I loved playing the demo
B-but... But, it's not Balan Wonderworld without the mini games and quick time events! That just makes it boring! There's no tension! There's no fun! Only puzzles and mazes! No one likes boring! After all, the world is a stage, and the stage is a world of entertainment! In the spotlight is Balan! It's not BWW without him! Q^Q (Seriously tho, kinda lame how you think this game would do better without mini games. Bleh.)

@@gaming1zanagi-1999. That and his in-game model looks very flat no matter the platform, his smile has no teeth in some scenes and his neck cape item is modelled differently than when in the trailer as it doesn't look like it goes over him no more :/

Honestly nothing against the fight but it looked like they were old friends or brothers or have some kind of connection cause it just looked like they were goofing around and test each others strength.
Well balan and lance have kinda the same name if you mix those names togather it would be balance so it could be related i think or not

It seems like they HAVE a deeper connection. according to the manga (I just red the inormations online), is Balan the Maestro of Wonderworld after Lance got corrupted by the negativity of human hearts. That's also the meaning of the names "balance" together they hold the Balance of the Human heart
(But in my opinion old friends sounds so adorable that i wish, that this would be true)

It's because he punches wrong. He punches with the fist that's forward not the one pulled back and actually punching him. He's more using his fist as a battering ram which doesn't work. They should have looked at how to do punches when flying. Superman's super move in Injustice 2 is the best example.

@@SpoodleTheNoodle Yeah but the demo is released only months before release. The full game comes out in March and there are other issues with animations and mechanics. So even if the punch animation and other animations get fixed, the general gameplay will be the same with one button interactions and bare bones platforming. There are other demos that look a lot better than this. Even on older generation consoles. There's too many problems with the game itself that I doubt most will be fixed by release. If this isn't the most up to date version of the game, it wouldn't be worth really showcasing this close to release.

I really hope that this game gets delayed so they can rework it. It desperately needs something. I hope that the final demo. Watching this Lance doesn't feel like a threat at all. In the main game, all he really does is summon enemies and corrupt people to make them enemies and in Balan's Bout, Balan seems stronger overall and it's a quick time event that I don't think you can actually fail it. Just gives you an oops trophy. The game seems like there's a lot of potential but it gets disappointing as there doesn't feel like a point to anything.
The game will be released next month and everyone is waiting for Balan to arrive. So don't even think about it and stop insulting the game.
@@ashleysanders5913 Stop criticizing the game from what I've noticed and the lack luster feel of everything so the flaws will be noticed could have possibly been worked out and improve upon. Ok. Well if you want people to stop pointing out what's wrong about it and let the game fail. :/

@@ashleysanders5913 😂 seriously? Ok first off I don't doubt that they haven't worked hard on this. Second I couldn't delay this game even if I wanted to. I doubt that they have actually read my comment particularly. But it's what they need to hear. They have something but their choices hasn't worked and if the demo is reflecting the full game then people won't have much fun with this game. Some people might but I think that the simplicity will just end up making the game dull. All of the buttons doing the same thing will make it boring. The awkward mocap will take people out of it. The quick time events will be dull. Probably won't be much challenge. They can't rely too much on cinematics like the opening one won't help sell the game. They need negative feedback as well so they can improve. People aren't being negative towards this game to make it fail. People want this game to be better including myself.
@@ashleysanders5913 while you do make a good point the reason people feel this way is that they feel like they have been cheated out of a game as it is a bit lackluster with the plain level designs and the fact that you need abilities to do really anything. @@kellyscorner1319 they're completely unintuitive and boring. The coolest looking character in the game got reduced to one repeated qte and some unintuitive mini games.
@@danielwoods3896 quick time events are intuitive and not all of them are boring, genious. As example, the saga Project Diva uses them a bit for special success since the Vita games.

If by "haters" you mean people that want a game to use more than one button, then I guess that makes me a "hater". Honestly I think most people are just disappointed with how uninspired the gameplay is. The costumes seem redundant. Each one replaces your one ability(jumping). but have things like the dragon costume removing the jump in favor of breaking things, but why would you use that when you can use the costume that lets you break things and jump? The level design also looks pretty basic(the layouts themselves, the art assets are fine). The characters have a lot of charm, but charm alone can't make a game good. I want Balan Wonderworld to be a good game, but the direction its headed in its current state is not good.
@@apothisiii5549 I just like the game how it is. it may be a little broken, but that doesn't mean I should judge the game of it's issues. Once you get used to the game as you go on, you'll be able to experience a type of fun. Besides, I want balan wonderworld to be a good game too, and I believe this might be an attempt at making a NIGHTS game with a different gameplay style
@@apothisiii5549 I’m pretty sure the game is SUPPOSED to be one-button. If I remember correctly, the creators stated that in the development presentation. It probably adds to the puzzle and difficulty that the game has.

the part that gets me is the filler animations between each actual QTE, plus the hard cuts which completely rob it of any kind of momentum or energy.

Ugh! I am so for this game! I really want it. But the gameplay is not worth 60 dollars! It's tiny things that are the problem and if they can delay it a little bit, I feel things would be fine. I might wait for this one. At least until the price goes down a bit.

@@TheSaharay1 technically the subtitles are in English. The game uses its own language, meaning it's not Japanese or English so yea there isn't an actual English or Japanese dub. Not sure if that will change for the final product

There are better QTE, like the one in Project Diva, introduced in the F games and re-touched for arcade
