@@myjizzureye And because you have a couple of average clips posted, you somehow think this helps you know anything about Wing Chun? Tell you what, take a camera with you and visit the gentleman in this video (sifu Mark Phillips based in UK). Tell him his Kungfu doesn't work, if you're really about that life. He trains MMA fighters as well by the way, and has fought bare knuckle since the 90s, but I guess you're the real expert eh? Lol. As for me, I'm not a Wing Chun guy. I grew up with Mexican boxing and later a bit of Kenpo, but I always show respect to all arts. All arts can help a good martial artist grow... that's the process of "emptying your cup".
@@AA-nx8ki Sifu Mark has done it to plenty of MMA fighters. He also has trained MMA fighters himself. Any style can work, what matters is how you apply it into your game.
+Fight SCIENCE This is very, very, practical, however there was an opportunity to out-time the enemy's defense. After you drew his defense, attacked on the half beat, and cleared the first barrier. You were met by another barrier in the rear, after having cleared the first, and I'm talking purely for the reason of simplicity, to end the confrontation as soon as possible. Well instead of breaching the second barrier there was an opportunity to rather, strike with your right hand to his jaw. Depending on the fighter, and circumstances of the fight, maybe this would work just as well. I really liked the fact that you addressed everything, even down to the position of the block on the wrist, and that's also why I recommend maybe substituting a the strike in depending on the conditions.
I wish more men would simply fight hand to hand but where I'm from Wing Chun is useless because all they do it's shoot each other. Anyways, I still appreciate every video you post on UA-cam.
When he grabs the hand you can also use the Bil jee elbow that will fold over the hand thats grabbing you. The momentum of the elbow coming downward will snap his structure downward. Great video!
+Anthony Allen yes that works well too, thank you for adding. Personally, I like the cross because it makes it harder for him to recover his rear hand in his defence. Also it keeps his hands tied up for longer. Thanks again for watching. 😊
I recently started training in Wing Chun and enjoyed this video as it is well explain in its uses....now I have to go get a partner and practice these great various Sao techniques. ..but again great video...
+vincent parlante thank you very much. Here's the thing you are only as good as the people you train with, so pick a good partner who can punch properly for you. Hope that helps you. Good luck with your Wing Chun journey.
+Fight SCIENCE Wow, thank you for your response and tip...and I will continue to reference and try to link together if that makes sense between my studies here with Sifu Romero and fellow class mates but again , thank you.
+vincent parlante what a coincidence, I have a student (from the UK) that trains Sifu Romero. In fact, I am teaching on a seminar in Philadephia with your Sifu in August. Small world. Please send him my regards.
+Fight SCIENCE Lol...it is a small world in deed. I feel extremely greatful to an opportunity to study with Sifu Phil Romero. I have seen a number of posts on him and his long time study with Master Hawkins in Los Angeles. ...and to learn the history there as well.....Sifu Romero certainly knows his Qigong and wing chun and it's deep history. One more note whenever I watch Master Hawkins cheung with his old videos and old seminars showing his fellow long past class mate Bruce Lee do his hequally famed 1 inch punch it amazes me to see that Qi power in such a small man and now as Cheung is now I believe in his early 70's and can still perform near effortlessly in Wing Chun. ..Anyway Thanks again and I will talk to Sifu Romero tomorrow and pass on your best wishes to him....Thank you again..take care.
I was shown to step outside as I block and move out of the way at the same time. I would like to see more of that because one may not be big enough to engage one's opponent head on.
Watch the top of his head when he moves forward and back... this is how you know it's the correct WC because his head doesn't bobble but goes in a straight line back and forth. It's very hard and alot of practice.
+devilzmantis thank you for your analysis. It's interesting how you can define a system of combat that is conceptual as correct Wing Chun or not correct Wing Chun. This is the problem within the Wing Chun community today. There are too many academics and not enough practitioners that actually apply the art in combat. Thanks for watching.
Fight SCIENCE Because there is alot of bad WC out there and I've touched alot of those hands. Just like there is bad foot work in Western Boxing... when someone fight in the ring long enough, they just know.
Perhaps the problem of why there is so much bad Wing Chun is because there are not enough people in the Wing Chun community actually training and testing the art. It's very easy to sit in a comfortable chair as some Wing Chun practitioners do and say in theory you should do X, Y, or Z. It's another thing to do when someone is really trying to hit you in the face. At least Western boxing has a real test of their art. For me good Wing Chun is what can be applied in combat against any style of martial art. It's in the application. Don't you think?
It seems to me as too much complexity - for example deciding the next move based on whether I blocked the opponents punch by wrist vs forearm vs elbow. In real street fight, especially when you already got hit, maybe you're even bleeding from eyebrow or one of your wrists is already injured, and the whole fight takes like 5-10 seconds in total, your brain switches to automatic mode, unless you have years of training and dozens of competition fights (or street fights for that matter) under your belt. So for self-defence purposes isn't it more realistic to learn and really internalize some universal initial defense reaction to any attack (ie. get rid of natural reaction to close eyes and turn away) and then 3-4 quick automatic "universal" counterattacks where there's a good chance that at least one of them will land and thus save you? I'm not talking about surefire win scenario - nothing like that exists. I'm talking about minimizing the probability of damage on your side. I don't have answers, I'm just asking more experienced martial artists here. Thank you.
+Josef Richter good point and I totally agree. If you've watched our most recent videos I really do discuss the reality of fighting and how you should keep it simple. However, this isn't as complex as it seems. It actually becomes very intuitive once you have been training Wing Chun for a long time. In fact, I've noticed the same type of subconscious reflex in many Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guys. I guess it comes down to your level and focus in practice (I. E. Whether you pressure test your ability to react to see your breaking point). Hope that helps you. Have a great day.

One of the best instructors who single handedly lends credibility to WinChung as self defence system.
Absolutely yes. He is a magnificent open minded master.
Other fight styles too, he trained a lot of arts and had real life fights, good instructor.
Here is a nice little showcase of the traditional art.
Great ways of conceptual thinking that puts the art dynamically forward. 🙏
Street martial art right here... I do boxing and Thai but i love Wing Chun...
