Thanks, Danny. I have about 10 calendar items a year and 8-12 emails a day, mostly Twitch channels going live (musicians) or alerts from someone messaging me on Discord. With such an easy life I don't need anything more than GMail. But, your joy has finally made me want to install this and play.
I started using it a couple days ago. Connected a few calendars, etc and damn it's really nice! I love the ability to not think about WHERE I'm time blocking or task mgmt. Thanks a lot sir
Thank you Danny! You got me out of a planning spiral with this video trying to learn how to use Notion and the new Notion Calendar app. Not having an easy way to visibly check off tasks in Notion Calendar was driving me crazy (along with all my other gripes with Notion and Notion Calendar)! Morgen is exactly the kind of Calendar I was looking for, like a huge upgrade to Google calendar. I hope there is some integration with Obsidian notes eventually! I would love to easily click on an event and pull up the notes for that event in Obsidian.

Have tried this out for a couple of days; the desktop version is nice, but is not complete yet. I'm assuming that once a task is created (and in the sidebar), then dragged out into the calendar, that they are linked? If I update something inside the task, e.g. est. duration, this will update across all linked calendar/task entries. However, if I change the title on the task in the sidebar, this does not change in the calendar. This is one of a few annoyances I've come across. There's promise, but it's not ready for primetime. Also, the android app is not great, the UX is clunky, and the sync across devices doesn't work that great either.
Scheduled tasks will appear in both the sidebar and calendar if you have that setting on. Then schanges appear in both.
I turn this off, as I dont want to see scheduled tasks in the sidebar.
The mobile app is functional...
You inspired me to use obsidian then zotero and then morgen. Thankyou so much. Your tools selection is very good. I also found out you also use da vinci resolve which I also use. Now I just wanna know a workflow from you of all these tools together. I mean suppose I want to make a youtube video then I will do research which I will store in zotero. Then I will integrate it with obsidian by plugin so all my highlights will come in obsidian. Then I want to do the work now I am confusing that how I will schedule by using obsidian and morgen together. Should I manually type all the tasks in the morgen such as 5 min before sleeping about the daily agenda. What could be the good workflow which doesn't have lot of resistances?
My workflow changes by project. I have videos planned for my course.

What do you think about Reclaim? I have doubts about whether to use Morgen or Reclaim 🤔
And another doubt: Do you use your "Capture Tasks" in Morgen or Todoist? I think Todoist must be the faster tool for this
I use Morgen. There is no obvious speed difference to me.

I have two Outlook business calendars and I use Apple calendar for personal stuff. Can Morgen handle that? Also, is the calendar sync bi-directional…..meaning if I set a task in Morgen that syncs into one of the outlook calendars and then change it in Outlook, does that sync back into Morgen?
Yes Morgen can handle muliple calendars and the sync is 2 way.
Tasks depend on where the tasks are created. Might be worth Joining their discord to trouble shoot with users that use Apple. I am a windows person 😁
Now if Morgen could bring emails then it would be perfect.

I tried it but did not see the benefits over outlook that does the same thing in addition to being my main email client (I have 4 different emails and calendars in outlook, i can superimpose all and define tasks, which I don't use much anyway). What I found annoying was to have two different prorgammes open (one for email one for calendar) when it is much easier to see both in one with Outlook - however how ugly the interface is.
Understandable! I use a lot of tasks, and am in gcal so Morgen was amazing.

So do you have to use Google calendar to use this? Or can this be its own calendar app? If you do changes on here to events, does it update on Google?
Morgen works with outlook, gcal and caldav providers.

Just tried Morgen and the Todoist integration is now part of the Pro tier.
I think it has alway been. As someone that uses Morgen tasks I cant comment much on that workflow.

naaa. this calendar is outdated. i use "usemotion" AI calendar. it automatically, schedule, adjust and re-schedule my calendar. I never had a calendar, now I do with AI features. It's awsome and like having a LIVE personal secretary for task scheduling. It's just incredible. I am on my track to change my life, this one does it.
If this regards Motion... I tried it and there were bugs, conflicts and non sensical suggestions from my experience 🤷♂️
@@DannyHatcherTech oh ok, i guess we are on a different schedule. but i find it to save my time. i am 57 never have I had a "calendar" wheerver, with Motion, I do. Since 1993, I knew about Google calendar, my colleague at the bank use it, i just don't find it useful till now with Motion.
For me Morgen is my favorite app. But its task function and syncing is relatively slow..

The obvious question: still no integration with Obsidian tasks?
No.
I really don't see any benefit of that... Obsidian is slower to load on mobile, sync takes longer, doesn't have calendar integration functions for time blocking the tasks, and doesn't give easy time management flexibility like dragging and dropping but that is me 😁
morgen is awesome. i have todoist, google calendar and morgen all synced up and working together and its beautiful. i just dont get the need for notion. way overrated.
Notion to time management, agreed.

Yes it is. I became free last week.

You should be able to download it like any other app as it is now out of beta.
