Saurav changed the way India played. Made them tougher, taught them to fight back. The current Indian players play the tough brand of cricket just like Australia did in the 90's. This is Saurav's legacy.
Sourav literally DETHRONED Steve Waugh and Nasser Hussain. But Ponting had players like McGrath and Gilchrist which unfortunately Sourav didn't that's why however close he got, he couldn't dominate Australia. Sourav also has best batsmen in the world, but a pressure handler like Gilchrist is what you need more than 5 best batsmen.
Same thing happen with Dhoni in tests. Didn't have a single bowler to conquer overseas.

Not really. There are very dark stories about Clarke in his personal life and more importantly his cricketing life. He is known to be one of the most cunning operators in the team and hated by few of his teammates. They all try to present a calm face after retirement.

India did have the best Test batting lineup..Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Ganguly and Laxman. Sehwag used to change the entire course of the match if he stayed on for just first 30-40 overs. And Laxman used to play with all the tailenders and still make centuries. Golden days of Indian test batting.
