I made my own inktense travel set before derwent made theirs, used an altoids tin and watercolor half pans and put a piece of each color I wanted cut off the blocks glued inside the half pans. If you want you can use magnetic sheets or tape to make the colors changeable as you want. I got 15 1/2 pans in mine so lots of colors in a small container... fits in a pocket if you want.

Just finished a scene with three Chick-a-Dees, and this popped up! I used my own photo for the main one, and I could have used your tip on making the black head highlights! I used ultramarine blue with the black which worked with my background! Great information and the prettiest bird!

Redecorate. Change of scenery. I used to put on Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera even at school while drawing and painting with ear buds on. There were so many times I would put it on and forget about the loud sudden intro of music that comes after the auctioneer says that the chandelier has been wired for electric light and a woman screams. The loud music would suddenly come from one side because of stereo and I'd jump everytime. Thank goodness everyone was so busy focusing on their work they didn't seem to notice. 😆

What transfer paper do you use?
Two questions: When you blow dry your canvas, do you use hot or cold air? I heard that hot air cracks the acrylic and melts it. Second question: Do you like the mini brushes for detail? I’ve been looking at them on Wish, but not sure how often I would use them. Thanks so much, Lisa! (We have the same initials!)
I use hot. If you use a heat gun instead of a hair dryer, those things get hot enough to melt and bubble the acrylic paints. I had on hair dryer in the past that was WAY too high powered and that could cause a similar situation, so I recommend a lower end $20 or so hair dryer. It's still possible to cause cracks, I do it intentionally with certain special effects where I put the water down thinner then thick on top and use the hair dryer to force the first layer to dry faster than the thicker top layer to get the top layer to crack. In a case like this painting where each layer is quite thin, it's not an issue.
Mini brushes are not going to last long with acrylic paintings. The paint builds up too fast and ruins them after one or two uses. You want longer bristled brushes for acrylics :)

If dogs consume cinnamon in large quantities, it may irritate their mouths and digestive system. Plus, if your dog inhales cinnamon powder, it may cause coughing, choking and breathing difficulties. So be careful if you decide to use it on your plants, please as one dog lover to another. Love your artwork too that bird was so pretty and cute. RBF works really well if you're blessed/cursed with it....lol. The earbud thing never seems to work with me they just want to continue to yak after you pull one to be polite and find out what they said.....maybe I should be more rude?
haha, you have to keep the earbuds in, not pull one out - that will send the message 😄
No worries here, my boys don't go near the plants :) Good advice though. I agree with @Queenria8410 with the earbuds, the trick is to not remove them to hear what they said. make it intentional you have no plans to listen to them lol.
