I was last week's winner. I was out today for about ten hours, Canon T6i. I am a train channel, so I was chasing down trains. We call it rail-fanning. Only did still photography, Next time I go out I will do video. I came across a professional video crew, and they know all about Digital Goja. They were shooting stock footage for TV Commercials. I am having trouble getting this lens to work on my T6i. Full manual, the exposure meter on the camera viewfinder and rear screen give readings too low, and the Exposure Simulator for the rear screen does not work at all (sadly, the T6i model doesn't have an option to enable/disable the Exposure Sim)
I purchased the lense to shoot HDRI 360 images, so using the AV setting doesn't do me much good as I need the camera settings to remain constant as I rotate it around for the 360.
For me, the only way I could get a good image was to take some test shots, call the pics up on my computer then go back and make adjustments until I dialed it in right.
I've done my best to research online to find out if there is a workaround specific to the T6 model, but no such luck. I am afraid I will have to send this lens back if I don't come up with a solution in another couple of days.
Thank you for the video, it really helped point me in the right direction. The T6i Canon, however technically compatible with this lense for me, I've not been able to get it to function without the camera having an electronic connection to the lens mount.
Hi, when in full manual mode the meter of the camera is not so reliable, we would suggest you to follow the "sunny 16 rule" as explained in this link:

Hi Tracey! The connections are the same for all the Canon 7D around the world (the differences are in the warranty and sometimes the name). It will work on any APS-C sensor camera, like the Canon 7D

Hi, unfortunately, this lens is made for crop sensor cameras so it cannot be used with full frame cameras as the portion of the picture will be cut off.

can i use this lens on my full frame camera D750?
Hi, it can be used but the image will be cropped as the lens is made for crop sensor cameras so we do not recommend it.
@@DigitalGojaUSA I've been using this on my D5300 but just upgraded to a D750. I understood this lens would create a full circle image on the D750 but it's creating a rectangle with a circular shape over the middle top and bottom sides of the rectangular image in a black frame with the D750 set to full sensor. Will it not produce a full circular image on a full frame sensor?
So I was experimenting more tonight with my new Nikon D750. This lens only looks right using a DX (crop) sensor. It does not produce a full round image on an FX. Instead it creates a rectangular image shape with rounded protrusions on the top and bottom edges. You must put the FX sensor in DX mode and then the image looks great. This creates the expected warped image. You just aren't using the full sensor with full resolution.
That's correct Kevin W. You would need to switch into the DX crop mode on your D750 because this lens is designed to cover the full width of the APS-C sized sensor. Personally, I wouldn't recommend using it in the FX mode because exactly what you are experiencing and the lens will produce a lot of chromatic aberrations (which you may or may not be able to remove in post). If you still want to try it in the FX mode, try removing the lens hood.Thanks for watching and congrats on your new full-frame Nikon camera.
@@DigitalGojaUSA BINGO!!! For some reason, it never crossed my mind to remove the lens hood and try a shot!!! That is the trick that gets the FULL circle image on the FX sensor. Yes, there are strong chromatic aberrations around the circumference of the image, but I put the image in GIMP, created a circular inverted mask that is just shy of the frame close to the top and bottom, invert the selection, and finally fill the background with black. You are left with a perfect full fish eye image. Made my evening. 8-)
I'm finding the sweet spot is setting the focus around 1.5', and using f8. Setting the focus around 3', as suggested, just doesn't seem to produce as crisp of images.
REALLY loving the D750. I paired it with the Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 lens that I purchased from Digital Goja this past week! Couldn't be more pleased. It truly steps up the game. :-)

Does the fish eye work good with video recording? I want to buy it for recording purposes and those it have an AF switch. I have a canon 80d do you think it's autofocus is good enough with the lens thanks!
The lens is good for video but please remember your camera will not recognize it as it is a manual lens so manual focus has to be used.

Very good video. I purchased this lens but looks like I will have to return it. It really don't work well with my Nikon D80 nor my D5600. The pictures are coming out very dark if they come out at all. If I try to take a picture inside. The picture comes out black. I can not find any site/link that has any information.
Hi there! Keep in mind that this is a completely manual lens. Try setting your camera to manual mode and adjusting your exposure/shutter speed and ISO manually. i have nikon d5200 and my firmware is up to date ie 1.03. ..at present i want to purchase a lens ....whether i go for new nikon AS-P 70-300 or Tamron di ld 70-300....my main use is photograph not vedio ...aperture value is not good in AS-P lens then tamron so i am verymuch confused between dis 2 lens ...kindly say which lens is good for photography with good blur background
Both lenses will perform well for shooting sports, portraits, landscapes etc. Since the Nikon lens features an electromagnetically controlled aperture you will see the simulated exposure on the screen. I would say the difference between f/5.6 and 6.3 is not a deal breaker. Both will render a smooth blurred background. In my opinion, the Tamron would have an edge in sharpness and its stabilization system. Also, the build quality is better on the Tamron. I hope that helps.
