I watched Amber’s pod cast today. What she said about the negative comments about the sock machine didn’t surprise me. I left her this message.Being a loom knitter I get a lot of comments that it is cheating. I look at this way I have arthritis in my hands & using a loom allows me to do something I love. Most knitting stitches on needles can be converted to a loom. Different tools allow people with dexterity issues, one hand being paralyzed, arthritis etc too continue making beautiful items.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you guys stand up for 'don't rain on my crafty parade'. I love seeing how everyone crafts and what they craft! Support for all is my stand also. Happiness is a choice, love that!!!! You grrls are amazing!
So agree with the disappointment in people being negative! Let's just be happy for other people and spread love and joy please. You guys brighten my day!!!!
Don't Rain On My Craft Parade' ought to be a bumper sticker or a pin for my knitting bag. It is easier to spread joy for me than negativity. I feel sorry for people who have to be so negative. Thanks girls, sounds like so much fun!! I got to go to my first Flock & Fiber festival this last weekend too...such a blast!!! Have a great evening/week. I am making donation hats with two strands of fingering together on 7's and they are soooo luscious for sure!!!
I just love you both!! You are so REAL!!! I agree totally with being ticked about negative comments!!! I also love Christy Glass and the Yarn Hoarder! You both knit so beautifully!! I look forward to your podcasts!!
I totally agreed with you guys about the mean people “dissing” Amber about her sock knitting machine...really people...one of the sweetest people in the world! I’m with you Tracy...I would love to hang out and knit with her, you guys and the Cozy Up sisters anytime, any day! Bring on the retreat Amber!
You guys are so energized from your retreat, LOVE IT!!! Traci the socks are soooo pretty! Jodi I'm in love with your hats! Please show them again when you get your pom poms.
OMG so it's midnight I'm knitting and watching your podcast...and of course eating Honey Nut Cherrios, like you do... when someone starts talking about the burning bush! Then the laughing and the snorting...I start laughing too of course and proceed to start choking on my Cherrios, but I can't stop laughing and now I may or may not have peed a little bit....You girls are too much fun! I believe it's a true sign of love when you knit something for your husband from your burning bush! LOL!!
Well said, Grocery Girls! THUMBS UP ten times over! TOTALLY agree with your thoughts about negativity in comments. If you can't say something nice, then walk away. No one has the right to make someone feel bad in their craft life. BRAVO!!!
Definitely everyone should always be nice and if you can't say something nice...don't say anything at all. Thumper's mom was so wise! Ladies, you're going to love knitting with the Targhee silky merino from Blue Moon. I knit a sweater and wasn't sure I was going to like it when I saw the yarn but was so happily surprised! It was really awesome. So glad you got to go to Ann's retread, she's a fun lady and really knows her stuff. I was lucky to take two or her classes two Summers ago. Great episode, again! Looking forward to hugging you at Rhinebeck! Viv
Someone hit Tracie's button. I agree with you and Amber is so happy to have sock machine so she can make more socks for her family & friends. She still is doing the cuffs, heels and toes.
Ahhhh thank you Lovely Ladies for another great episode 🤣💖🤗!!! Love the love and excitement especially in challenging times. And thank you both for calling out for less hate and for more love. We all need a little extra love n fun in our lives. When haters hate it's more about the hate they have for themselves then anything they are complaining about, so in that way send a prayer and keep going. Xoxo
I SO agree with you guys about Amber and the sock machine! Good for you for speaking up and addressing the silly humans out there daring to give any makers in our community a hard time for their chosen methods of creating. I just adore you two (not in a creepy way) and I have once again had my week made by watching! You are among my top favorite knitty podcasters- thank you for all your hard work, sense of humor, tutelage, enabling and yarny goodness! Sharon
I'm a spinner who doesn't typically watch knitting podcasts, and lately I'm only knitting my handspun, and rarely/ever buy commercial yarn, but I keep coming back to you two because you're so genuine and honest and funny and irreverent (one of my favorite words). Love love love your podcasts; love you two; you've got a great thing going here. I look forward to every one!
Thank you both for the reminder of just being truly authentic. There are days I'm bummed that I don't have more subscribers on my knitting podcast, but I have to remind myself that it's not about that! Those that do watch, love what I do and are super supportive which is all that matters.
I just accidentally found you great girls. Love the Knitting Machine support for the other pod caster! I am a crocheter, but know how to basic knit. But y'all are my Knitters Channel of choice now!
I am so inspired by you both that I signed up for a sock class on Craftsy. Really feeling like it will be above my skill level but have been envious of your sock life that I decided I needed to live a sock life too. Wish me luck! Thank you for what you add to my knitting life. You have brough me such joy.
Yay just got my notification! I’ve been waiting all day to knit with you ladies. I don’t have any knitting friends here in Michigan, so your podcasts are my “knit night.” Hope you had a great retreat...now time to get my socks out and enjoy the podcast 😊
Another great episode ladies! Thanks and that burning bush was so funny 😂. My hubby walked in at that part then Tracie said it's bulky so my hubby was like "oh no it's a bulky burning bush"! Lol
I love watching the podcast, Tracie and Jodi!! :) I definitely agree with Amber about her sock machine and yes, I am jealous cause I need a sock machine too. I also agree what you said Tracie, "Be Who You Are." Plus, I am also a new knitter.
You girls make my day. Thanks for the inspiration and the views of all the lovely yarn. As for the "haters" who feel the need to send negative comments to someone who makes the time and effort to share their joy..........Well, karma is waiting for you!
Tracy, I love you so much. I feel the exact same way. People need to mind their own business and just let other people be who they want to be. Why does it matter to everybody else? Can't wait to see you at KnitCity. 😘. Vicki
Omg I'm doing the dishes and cracking up just hit the part about the Burning Bush... geez I found a way to do chores and laugh doing it Haha. Y'all are priceless.
I love this episode and agree with you, most people are nice and hurting peoples feelings is never OK. Yarn Hoarder is so lovely and happy and always cheers me up ☺Xxx
I've only watched a portion of this podcast and I have to tell you... I am so happy that you both stood up for Amber. You girls rock! Now... back to watching... :)
Amen Ladies!!! As a new knitter i sometimes fell stupid. I watch you guys and i learn so much and i love you guys. I totally get it, that why i only have about 5 podcast and your on my top 5. Love you guys. Give me a thumbs up!!
I met Amber in Chicago. I adore her. She is the sweetest lady. I own both sizes of the AddiExpress machines and want a sock machine. There is not enough time to knit for those you love and anything to knit faster is a blessing. I am taking that "don't rain on my craft parade" (haha) and adding it to my phrase bucket. People need to be kind to others. At some point they will need someone to be kind to them. I enjoy you Traci and Jodie. Thank you both for being so kind. You are appreciated. 😃
OMGoodness!!! I should have waited til the end to comment!!! You are SO correct about negative/rude people. It's so much easier for cowards to hide behind their " device" & type/say mean things ! If they were to meet you in person they would never have the ball$ to say something negative!!! Thx for speaking out !
Hi Ladies... I was on vacation in NJ and went to Do Ewe Knit She has all the colors I was a fun trip .I bought my first Hedge Hog Fibers and I'm so happy. It was so nice that you got a gift from K
that was a great interview, Amber with Kristi Glass, can't wait to see you guys on Kristi Glass! I just saw that episode earlier today. And what a good idea a knitting machine! How neat is that!
I can't recommend Iceland and Norway enough. I've been to both and purchased yarn while in both places. They are beautiful countries with fantastic food. Go. You'll be so glad you did. 👍🏻🤓
Now I'm really excited about going to the Ann Budd retreat in Edmonton! That swag bag was awesome and I'm excited to meet everyone. Hope to see you both in a few days ago Knit City!
Just discovered you girls a couple weeks ago and have been binge watching your podcast every night after work and on weekends while I knit. I have to keep pausing to go look up the yarns and patterns you mention because I just can't wait for the show notes. I just loved the I Made It to 60 Bitches color way and will have to buy some for myself since my 60th birthday is in less than a month. Now that I'm caught up with the podcast and have subscribed so I don't miss new installments, I'll have to go watch your Off Our Needles on Craftsy too. Love, love, love watching the two of you!
You two are my best knitting friends!! 💜💜 The laughs, the love and the yarn porn!! 😃😃 My dream bag is a MrsBrownsBag in Georgia On My Mind colourway from the LoLo's 😍😍 ( of course! ) Love from Denmark 💜☕🌸
I took a class with Carson and I sooooo thought the same thing when I read the course description...D.R.Y. However, it was seriously THE. BEST. knitting class I have EVER taken!!!!! He makes it interesting and he made my knitting so much faster and I'm so appreciative for that class!!
You guys will LOVE Targhee! It's such a yummy fibre. It's my favourite to spin, and BMFA makes a fingering weight called "Tigger Targhee" that's amazing for socks, it's super springy. Happy knitting!
WOW! Awesome podcast! I have never heard of a sock knitting machine. Now I'm intrigued! I will go look at this wonder of a machine. I've never knit socks but this might get me started! And thanks for the rant. I agree. If you can't say something nice, then don't. Next....... Sounds like the retreat was awesome! Oregon has some amazing hand dyer's and yarn shops. I'm 2 1/2 hours away from there and it's always fun to hit a few shops. You found great yarn! I can't pick a favorite of them. Now you are off to the other Vancouver, for another great adventure. I can't wait to see the next podcast, after this next trip. You guys keep me enabled. My current favorite yarn dyer is Pandia's Jewels, but I always keep an eye out of new yarn dyers. Just a FYI. I keep a paper and pen next to me when I watch you because you have so much information on things. I now have 12 web sights to go visit! Love you both. Thank you for the laughs and the joy.
Tracie and Jodi's "bitches' totally cracked me up! I knit on a loom because I never did learn to knit with needles. And I own a sewing machine for quilting and (future) stuffed animals. Seriously, nothing creative is ever less or more because of how it is made. I absolutely LOVE this podcast!
This is why I love yours and "the fibre friends" podcasts so much, your use of inappropriate humour... the whole burning bush segment had me in stitches 😂😂😂😂
OMG thanks so much for pointing me to Mary Scott Huffs Ravelry page. She has a pattern for kilt hose which I must knit for my piper/ hubby. A sock machine would be so great for that long leg. Great podcast ladies! Too bad you're not having any fun. :P
i love you girls and look forward to your podcast. Both of you are like a breath of sunshine in my life.i am watching you from Singapore and love all the things you are knitting. you have encouraged me to start knitting again. Have stopped the last two years after my hubby's demise as feel such emptiness but now feel that its time to start again. So much to learn from you both as i feel like watching two close friends. Totally feel the same sentiment regarding the negative comments about Amber.Lets be positive and support one another.Wish you both love and more laughter.
I just watched Amber's podcast this afternoon. You said it correctly......they hurt Amber's feelings! And that made me mad! I would love a sock machine. I have so many people to knit socks for.
Love your podcasts!! You guys are a hoot!! I watched Amber's podcast and totally agree with her. Everyone should "do you" and leave everybody else's business to them. I would love a sock machine if I could afford one, It doesn't mean that I would never knit socks by hand. Just another means to a good end. The quilting world finally figured that out. That you could have many more completed tops if they were done by a longarmer. And so the choice is yours. See you in the next video!!
Here I am, fangirl-ing as I listen to you guys fangirl over my hometown's (Portland!) amazing yarns. You need to come down in March for the Rose City Yarn Crawl!
I have a really shitty job here in Australia as a Property Manager managing tenants and owners and today I watched your podcast whilst working and you both cheered me up so much and made me laugh so much 😂🤣 thank you girls xx😘 if you ever want to come to Australia you'll always be welcome!
There will always be those people who like to "rain on someone's parade". I absolutely love the idea of a sock knitting machine, I wish I could knit them but my RA makes it difficult to hold those small needles. I say... Sock On Amber!! Great podcast as always! Love you ladies😊
I took lorilees class on continental knitting class at stitches midwest and she is absolutely fabulous. A beautiful soul. Her Instagram is beautiful also. So glad you guys had such a wonderful trip.
jodi, your bags are amazing. I love your knit themed fabrics. I just ordered Lizzie and Mari. your bags are unique and no one out there does the same thing. I also think that your bags are amazing quality. The only negative is that I wish your bags had an inner zipper pocket for small notions.
OMG. So I am sitting this evening, working on my Steve rousseau shawl that I am knitting for my sister's 60th birthday. I am using headphones and watching your podcast. Door to bedroom is open and dog and husband are asleep. Then "burning bush-gate" happens and I am laughing so hard they both showed up to see what was wrong with me. Dropped 4 stitches.....and I may have peed.... Well it would have put out the fire. Husband and dog go back to bed giving me disgusting looks for waking them up. How do I explain it. I don't. Bwahahaha hahahahaha. Tha last for the laugh.
I love the old saying " if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it". Sheesh. Let's all spread happiness and kindness not meanness. Lol. And yes, I have started to get thicker skin and let negative stuff roll off, but we all know that's hard. I love watching you girls!!!!!! I really am Bummed that I'm not going to Rhinebeck this year! Would have loved seeing you both in person! You will have an amazing time!!!!!!
You two are amazing!!! I am so sorry I missed you in Vancouver this past weekend. I live basically up the street form the Lodge and I really wish I could have been able to afford to attend... Next time!
I absolutely love your podcast! I agree with everything you said concerning the responses Amber received about the sock knitting machine. Cut it out!!!! Leave us nice people to our knitting please. I love you both and I hope to join the podcast community soon.
Ladies, you are such a pleasure to watch and of course you can come and stay. I've (Lora) got loads of room, but I should warn you that I live in the back end of nowhere. It's very pretty though, even when it's raining. I shall email you proper, but in the mean time I anted to say a massive Olann and thank you, for highlighting the Knitted Knockers Campaign once again and for passing on the information about our #knockeralong Fingers crossed, none of us will ever need them, but if we should, well........ Much love from Ireland Lora & Deirdre x
Those hexagonal needles are fantastic. The guy who makes them is super nice. He is always at VKLNYC. I buy needles from him every year. He spends his evenings in NYC finishing needles in his room. Very nice people.
I can't stand it when people are negative about the tools that crafters can use. I love watching Amber! She's a sweetie. I wish I had a sock machine, I would be able to knit through my stash faster...so I could buy more!! Love your flannel shirt Tracie! Love your sweater Jodi! Have a great trip!! I love all the yarn you ladies got! Happy Knitting from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 Marie
Yup! Don’t rain on my craft parade is definitely correct! I mean... who cares how you’re crafting!?? We like to craft because it relaxes us and we like to make things... it doesn’t matter HOW! Right? Anyways Tracie! I’m loving your Mosi Mosi! Can’t wait to see it finished! And Jodi, well done on frogging if it’s not going to fit! The yarn is gorgeous so the more you have to knit with it again even better!!! Yay!!!! Sending big hugs!
Thank you I have been knitting for almost 50 years but am now doing more machine knitting I have rheumatoid arthritis but can't give up my craving for yarn I am a yarnaholic. It is so upsetting when people say that my stuff is not handmade because I use the machine.
Kerry Wilson Thank you for sharing this. I was diagnosed with RA two years ago and despite all of my knitting and crocheting, my hands continue to get weaker. I sometimes wonder if I'll have to stop one day. But, knowing that you are continuing to make things with your hands and with the help of a machine gives me hope. Blessings to you and may you continue to have the strength to fight this awful disease.
Heather Lyons I also bought a pair of Tommy copper gloves that have that short fingers on them which idoes wonders for the arthritis and I can knit without pain.
I am so glad you brought up people being just mean. I totally get pissy too when I hear about judging someone else's fun and making them feel bad. I loved when I saw Amber's sock machine! I wish I had one too 😀. I don't know why but I was shocked to hear she got negative comments. I completely agree with everything you said. You guys are just the best!!!! So glad you brought it up it needed to be said. Ok so for happy talk...Looking forward to meeting you guys in person at needlesup. And yes that Iceland Norway trip sounds amazing. I've been to Norway but years before I was a knitter, that country is amazingly beautiful. All the best Tonya.
I watched Amber’s pod cast today. What she said about the negative comments about the sock machine didn’t surprise me. I left her this message.Being a loom knitter I get a lot of comments that it is cheating. I look at this way I have arthritis in my hands & using a loom allows me to do something I love. Sorry Tracie for spelling your name wrong...
I love these two girls. They are so fun and I can't get enough!!!
Couldn't be more right, ladies! Keep spreading the love and everybody else, you be your crafty self. 😊
You guys are so energized from your retreat, LOVE IT!!! Traci the socks are soooo pretty! Jodi I'm in love with your hats! Please show them again when you get your pom poms.
Go Jodi and Tracie!!! Love all you podcasters. Everybody can learn something from somebody.
You two do so much to spread goodwill and joy. Thank you for that and for such a fun podcast.

Someone hit Tracie's button. I agree with you and Amber is so happy to have sock machine so she can make more socks for her family & friends. She still is doing the cuffs, heels and toes.
I love your podcast! You bring happiness and joy to my little corner of the world (Sweden). Thank you for being you.

So glad you featured Tiffany at woollen homestead. Her yarn is beautiful, and she's from my home state.
I could not love you ladies more. Thank you for addressing the trolls in such a great way!
i love you girls and look forward to your podcast.

I love you guys. I met you at Stitches West. I am with you, I don't understand why people give you thumbs down.
that was me! I asked for Lizzie and i ordered it yesterday. Thank you so much for making it
Love your podcasts!!
I love you girls :) You bring joy and happiness to my life!
Here I am, fangirl-ing as I listen to you guys fangirl over my hometown's (Portland!) amazing yarns. You need to come down in March for the Rose City Yarn Crawl!
Me too!
Hello Jodi and Tracie! Love - Don't rain on my craft parade! I couldn't agree more.
You guys are amazing! I appreciate your message!
Watched Amber's podcast and feel the same as you! Love her and you two ladies also!!!
Oooh Tracie, a worsted Boxy would be so beautiful and cozy with that Blue Moon yarn!

Pamela Marriott lol thst was funny wasnt it
Love the energy and passion !
I love the old saying " if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it". Sheesh. Let's all spread happiness and kindness not meanness. Lol. And yes, I have started to get thicker skin and let negative stuff roll off, but we all know that's hard. I love watching you girls!!!!!! I really am
Bummed that I'm not going to Rhinebeck this year! Would have loved seeing you both in person! You will have an amazing time!!!!!!
You two are amazing!!! I am so sorry I missed you in Vancouver this past weekend. I live basically up the street form the Lodge and I really wish I could have been able to afford to attend... Next time!
I am always heartbroken when each podcast is over. Can hardly wait till the next. Just love you two xoxo
You girls thank goodness for women like you xxxxxxx
I absolutely love your podcast! I agree with everything you said concerning the responses Amber received about the sock knitting machine. Cut it out!!!! Leave us nice people to our knitting please. I love you both and I hope to join the podcast community soon.
Ladies, you are such a pleasure to watch and of course you can come and stay. I've (Lora) got loads of room, but I should warn you that I live in the back end of nowhere. It's very pretty though, even when it's raining.
I shall email you proper, but in the mean time I anted to say a massive Olann and thank you, for highlighting the Knitted Knockers Campaign once again and for passing on the information about our #knockeralong
Fingers crossed, none of us will ever need them, but if we should, well........
Much love from Ireland

Yaaayy Iceland mentioned many times on the podcast !! Can't wait for you gyus to arrive
Those hexagonal needles are fantastic. The guy who makes them is super nice. He is always at VKLNYC. I buy needles from him every year. He spends his evenings in NYC finishing needles in his room. Very nice people.
well spoken - you made my evening ... as usual - go on girls
Happy Knitting from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
Marie
Kerry Wilson Thank you, Kerry. I'll check those out! ☺️
You gals crack me up!! Thank you for being “you”
You cant hear me laughing, i love you guys just so dang much
Omg! Love "do not rain on my crafting parade!"❤️❤️❤️❤️
Right on ladies! I just gave you a thumbs up for supporting Amber!
Ah! It was my birthday also!!! You had fun for me!!!
