I'm speechless since receiving The Holy Eucharist this evening. An overwhelming presence was felt immediately upon returning to the pew. This is at least the third time I have been surprised sensing the presence of Our Lord. Once I felt Jesus as though The Lord was sitting beside me when I was in my 20's. I think that our parish priest might have been saying prayers for me. Once when I looked at an image of The Divine Mercy. The eyes of Jesus in the picture became animated. I was suddenly aware of my unworthiness shying away and looking down in humility. I have been receiving reawakenings of faith lately. Concepts that come in flashes and I acquiesce when graced with an understanding in encapsulated completeness which gently reveals irrefutable truth to my conscious thoughts; teachings about God The Son's very real presence in the humble persons around us, that it is far better to give than receive and what it means that we are called courageously to understand more than to be understood, that because we are called to love others rather than seeking to be loved by others, we are wholey loved by God, giving life its joy and every sweetness. By these undeniable lessons, I am learning anew, what we Catholics have been professing in our common prayers, hymns and songs. For lessons are not merely about our own gratification; rather, are lived, experienced as much as learned. N'es pas? What might the noble and humble St. Thomas Aquinas (circ. 1200's) have learned from hearing about the honorable and holy life of St. Francis of Assisi (circ. 1100's) when St. Thomas Aquinas said "Non Nisi Te, Domine" while in meditation at the Crucifix of Our Lord?
Dear Barbara, Beautiful...give thanks and praise to our sweet Merciful Jesus...His Mercy is sooo beautiful. Jesus has chosen you, He is giving you much and much is expected of you, keep persevering and stay close to His Eucharistic Heart. Warmest greetings and prayers +in JMJ+ Angèle
@@ctmcatholic I'm listening to St. John of the Cross and the Ascent of Mt. Carmel on Catholic Audio books. I just heard about learning not to desire these consolations. I recall how Fr. Timothy Gallagher describes how we are to save these graces for times of desolation in The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. I have to learn to die to self ever more completely because, otherwise, the first victories will be battled again. This is a time for continuing and avoiding taking assurance in progress.
"We adore you oh, Christ and we bless you, because by Your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world." This is my favorite prayer for the Stations! God bless you!! 😇🙏💞
THANK YOU FOR YOUR LECTURE. I DO THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS PRAYING ONE OUR FATHER ON EACH AND MOVING ON FASTER TO LEAVE ROOM FOR OTHER PEOPLE. I ALSO DID THE 14 STATIONS IN ACRYLIC AND FOR THAT I WENT TO A COUPLE OF CHURCHES TO HAVE A SCOOP OF THE PAINTINGS. This is beautiful. This is my first Lent as a Catholic, and the stations of the cross have become probably my favorite devotion. I had no idea they would affect me so deeply. Thank you for sharing all this background and ideas for how to use this to grow closer to Jesus. ❤️
I glad you mentioned not to get caught up in how to do it what prayers you need to say and all that halabaloooo. Just meditate on what God because e He loved us. That is huge YES FATHER ALL YOUR TALKS ARE SOVERY HELPFUL O THANK YOU.
I didn't realise you were in Bradford! My grandmother was a Eucharistic Minister at St Patrick's, and the Headteacher at St Patrick's Primary School! I still have her pyx. God bless you and all you do for that area ❤️ Xxx
I love the Stations but find them tough to begin, as I see my sacrifice so completely inferior as a want-to-be Catholic compared to Jesus’. So analogously like the distance of head-to-the-heart with the understanding of the Faith, for some; my walk of the Stations is first knots/pain in my guts, which I see as a ‘type’ of the Fear-of-the-Lord, to the penetration of my Soul in spirit, with the guide of the Holy Spirit, gaining as I go a great appreciation the Gift/Sacrifice of our Lord. But it always ends in a sense of love and peace- a mysterious walk🤷♂️🙏. Thanks again father and good to see you in a joyful spirit.
Regarding the movie "The Passion of the Christ", I figure if Christ suffered all that for me, the least I can do is have the decency to watch, appreciate His suffering and thank Him for all He did for ME! It's hard to watch but you can just imagine it was a thousand times worse for Jesus Christ to live through!!! It's a coincidence that you talk about Jesus' suffering was love. I'm French Canadian and this morning I was watching video of a French (from France) priest speak after reading today's Gospel, and he said that love is not a lovey-dovey feeling, love is tearing away from one's self not by a type of masochism, but by the love of giving of one's self. I find this goes well with what you are saying today in your video.
Thank you very much for this explanation. It is so lovely and so true. I was raised Catholic and have always appreciated it, however, last year as I was helping my eldest daughter prepare for first Holy Communion, I experienced a desire to just let go of myself so that I could walk with Jesus properly during Lent, especially during His most difficult moments. That experience helped me to become a better guide for our daughter. She was very excited to receive Communion and on that special day she was even asked to crown our Blesses Mother in honor of Mother's Day. It was beautiful. Thank you again and God bless you all!
I’ve let myself become too focused on the “right words, right way” to pray the Stations and was looking for a guide when I came across this video. Ahh the freedom in knowing there’s no perfect formula and we can just focus on adoring our Lord. Thank you!

This is so helpful. I have been so stuck on doing the Stations “properly “. I much appreciate the suggestion to let the Holy Spirit direct us to where to go in the Stations.

Feeling enlightened and encouraged. Thanks as always guys and the tremendous work you do for our Faith. God Bless you all.

Let's reflect on Stations of the Cross especially this Lenten Season. Ukrainian is walking the Stations of the Cross. Despair, suffering, torture, blood.
St Alphonsus Liguori was the man composed the prayers commonly said in the modern devotion of the Stations of the Cross. " We adore you O Christ and praise you ... ... " By the way if you want gore in the statutory and images in churches then Andalusia in Spain is the place to go.
Can stations of the cross be read in the church as opposed to walking around the church at each station ? A priest I confessed to gave me the stations of the cross as penance but I’m learning it still. This is week 2 of that penance. I went online and find various forms, short way, long way, some with less prayers and others with more prayers. I’m never sure I actually did the right one. The first time, I walked the stations but Got a bit mixed up because of Roman numerals, today, I decided to sit in the pew and do the short form but not walk the stations. Typically, at end of confession, Mass is getting ready to be started, and part of the stations lead up to basically the alter itself, which I am always hesitant to step on. So, those 4 stations last week I just sat at the nearest pew instead. Basically, I have no idea if I’m doing it right or not. When I ask the priest the first time he gave me this penance, he told me to look it up on my phone. So , I’m pretty clueless as to what is the appropriate and valid penance version of stations of the cross he gives me. :( though, I love the prayers and stations of the cross, I’m just not sure if I’m doing it as prescribed as the priest just said “ look it up on your phone”.
Thank you for your videos, it truly helped me. And it gives me sooo much joy to see humour in catholics that most people fail to see. :>
