  • In this video I cover how to test for EVAP system leaks. Also the following is covered:
How to test an EVAP vent solenoid
How to test the computer driver.
Normally open and normally closed solenoids.
For more information on this topic, I have written a “field manual” called Engine Performance Diagnostics which is available at www.scannerdanner.com as an eBook or paper book.
Want even more diagnostic training? Whether you are a DIY trying to fix your own car, someone looking to become an auto technician, or a current auto technician that wants to get more into diagnostics, subscribe to ScannerDanner Premium www.scannerdanner.com/join-sc... On ScannerDanner Premium I will bring you right into my classroom at Rosedale Technical College. You will find page for page lectures taken right from my book as well as exclusive classroom type case studies. What is so special about these classroom case studies? I pull live problem vehicles directly into my classroom and we troubleshoot them in real time, using and applying the theory and testing procedures we learn during the classroom lectures. PERFECT timing. I've been chasing my tail with this code on my cavalier but don't want to throw parts at it. Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic-a demonstration on how to test with the smoke machine would be a bonus. I have found many uses for mine including head and tail light lenses finding where the gasket is letting in moisture. Great machines.

Done a few of these. I tried tapping on them too while jumping them while removed and never had one unstick.

Incredible video! In the smooth presentation and not belaboring obvious points. I will point out, though, a fuel tank always has some oxygen in it unless you fill it up to the very top of the filler neck. As the fuel is consumed, air is let into the tank.

Great video. We can do solenoid power and ground testing using a test light also instead of scope.

Awesome video! I was finally able to purchase your book. Went ahead and did it through AESwave. I just prefer a hard copy. Can't wait for it to show up. Thanks.

I use your brothers method but with a battery operated tire pump and a fitting I made with the green cap on the hose end. That and some water and dish soap mix.
