This is so complicated now. The Quest 2 has absolutely ruined itself by making modding so unnecessarily difficult. I went through probably 10 different tutorials before finding this one and did a million different steps out of order / from outdated videos which is almost 99% of the tutorials for modding online! Now BMBF is completely broken too without having to keep my entire Quest un-updated. Totally ridiculous.

@@mayodoesstuff2205 yes, Scotland 2 is for v1.35. I haven’t seen anything that indicates it was updated for 1.37. If you used qavs to downgrade to v1.28 then you need to use questloader. Have a good one!

Meta REALLY needs to loosen up, modding beatsaber used to be super straightforward and easy but the amount of hoops you need to jump through on q3 makes me want to say screw it and get rid of the thing in favor of just staying on my q2 which already is modded. Everyone who's played Beatsaber knows without mods the game is worthless.

Hey! Its Me again! When I was trying to install a replay mod for my gameplay with QuestPatcher, I was prompted with this message: "The mod you are trying to install needs the mod loader Scotland2. However, your app has the mod loader QuestLoader installed. Would you like to repatch your app with the required modloader?" If I clicked yes do you know if anything would happen?
Very interesting prompt, the dev of questpatcher must have determined that the replay mod is much more stable on v1.35 and Scotland2. You would need to remod the game with scotland2 so the replay mod doesn’t cause crashes/stability issues.
My QuestPatcher on my computer (followed everything double over and I did everything correctly) shows that I am on 1.29.0 instead of 1.28. Is there any way I can fix that?

Well, lets try to break it down. Quest 2 or Quest 3? Is it a Mac or PC? Have you tried the mods by friday method while using chrome on a pc? Mods by Friday is the easiest method by far.

@@blacksocrates1530 the question is, how many mods did you install? I’m pretty stable with qosmetics whackers, trick saber, noodles, mapping. I tend to avoid chroma. Find it causes crashes as much as qosmetics for something reason.

This is a “with pc guide”, I do have a phone only guide as well if needed. It’s all safe, hosted by dedicated devs of the beat saber modding community.

Now it’s not working for me anymore. Every time I open up a level, it always crashes, no matter what’s in it. I tried remodding it, and nothing works, I can’t do anything in it. It also crashes before the game even starts.
Hey! I followed your other tutorial you posted originally, the now patched one. It was working for a good while; however, my oculus decided it needed to factory reset today, which was unfortunate and I had to struggle to find your channel again. I followed this new tutorial, but my game doesn’t seem to have any mods, it’s just the regular beat saber, do you know what I should do?
Interesting, I have three current working guides. One for android phone, one for pc and one with just the headset. It’s hard to say where it would have went wrong. The android method is the easiest way. And you can use the same method with a pc. Best I can say is to try again. Must be a step or section that was missed.
i didnt get the restore game prompt which im assume is normal but beat saber wont start up. any idea why. i also keep getting beat saber keeps stopping message

I followed every step and it works but my walls are invisible ingame so i cant see anything in noodle extension maps. Any advice on how to fix walls not working
@@BearskiVR I dont have any of the qosmetics installed. The walls in vanilla songs work fine but in the modded maps the walls are just faint boxes with no outline. Ive tried reinstalling the mods 6 times now.
@@JetSe77er Truthfully, I'm not sure. The game is launched from the pc. So I'd assume the files on the PC would need to be modded. That wouldnt be the same process as pcvr beat saber though. I'd have to do it myself to get the concise answer.

Hey man i get to about 8:32 in the timecode and when i go do start uninstall. it says something about restoring from a backup and then pops up QUV can currently nor manage mods for Quest 3 and not anything like do you want to uninstall this app. But i think it succesffully downgraded to 1.28 dont know what to do from there. it shows the versions 1.28 and a mode this version
@@BearskiVR Yes, i actually got it modded, between Mod Assistant and and questpatcher but it only took one day and not it dont work at all right now. I load it and sometimes it just goes to a black screen forever and dont load or it will load, and crash a few times between asking to restore and i cancel. And then when i finally do get it to play i try a level and its weird sometimes Im looking out the side towards where i would be standing and playing and when i try to use the sabers they are almost as big as the whole screen and i cant even see around them to play. I might have just put too many mods or just the wrong mods. I now cant unmod or take off some mods because i cant evne play it now. It seems to happen almost right after i modded it. I will go unisntall and re try all of it again, 1 mod at a time this time.
Did you change the channel version to v1.29 and then reinstall? Honestly, this guide is official outdated. Many things have changed. That said, give the mods by Friday method a whirl. It now provides noodle extensions and qosmetics.
I did all steps and it worked, but when i open beat saber it infinitely loads, the screen gies to the beat saber title at the beginning, and fades black indefinitely

hey! in the downgrade to 1.28 section it says "game downloading dont close this app" but under that it says "no game downloads" and it just gets stuck there, what can i do?
The game should download followed by asking if you want to reinstall beat saber. You could try reinstalling QAVS and see how what it says when you open it.
@@BearskiVR i tried to reinstalling 2 times and it didnt work, also the QAVS goes to the "download page" but it says no game downloads, i left it in that window for some 15 mins or so and nothing happend.
@@CokeVR143 OH! My bad, thinking of a different issue. So, you changed the channel version to 1.29. Correct? You then used QAVS to downgrade to v1.28? Then you used quest patcher with "questloader" selected to patch your game. And then you made sure you used v1.28 core mods? If yes to all, Just reinstall beat saber and give it another go. Something must have went wrong.
Best thing to do would be to start from the beginning. Restore beat saber back to live. And if you try to mod again, follow each step exactly. Chances are you didn’t change the legacy version to v1.29, didn’t downgrade to v1.28, didn’t use questloader instead of questpatcher, or didn’t use v1.28 mods. The method will work, but it’s a house of cards set up. Need to do everything correctly from the get go.
I recently updated beatsaber to play the new levels but when I tried to go back with the same steps I’m running into a issue with quest app version switcher, it had a weird step in it where I have to connect to Wi-Fi

I’ll whip up a video showing how to do this, tonight. But for you, with exclusively bmbf and not quest patcher. You should be be able to uninstall beat saber on the App Library and then just reinstall it. It should then be live and ready to update when ost7 is out.
Okay...I did it before but accidently updated the game. So, I redid it all via this video but when I finish, there is no Mod Menu to the left when I open my Beat Saber. What may I have done wrong?
Did you restore the game twice? Did you change the channel version to 1.29 and reinstall then downgrade to 1.28 with qavs? Did you patch beat saber with questpatcher's mod loader called "quest loader"? Did you install v1.28 mods? Have your tried restarting your headset? If beatsaber is on v1.28, you could try quick fix and patch my game in questpatcher's tool menu. Let me know how it goes!
after installing all the mods, and doing all as instructed, my beat saber does not open at all, it just crashes, doesnt even give me the restore and open toggle option. it just opens, and shuts down
Chances are you didn’t change the version channel to 1.29. Didn’t downgrade to 1.28 with qavs Didn’t patch beatsaber with questpatcher’s modloader called questloader Didn’t install version 1.28 core mods Installed too many mods. 100%, one of the above things didn’t happen which is crashing your game. You could reinstall beat saber twice and try again but that’s up to you.

No worries, Unplug and plug in your headset to your computer and go to notification in quick settings. The adb prompt will be there. Click that and then you can allow.
The pc or the quest isn’t allowing the share files prompt? Is debug mode on? Is the headset on when you plug it into your pc? Are you clicking “allow” on the usbadb prompt?
its not working everything is set up but when i try and get in beat sabor it tells me to open app,restore, or close but if i click close the game just crashes
You’d want to click open. But it sounds like you installed the wrong core mods, didn’t downgrade to v1.28 or didn’t patch with questloader. Reinstall everything and give it another go.
Also everytime i open questappversion switcher it says i need to allow access and then shows some folders but I dont have any folders in the folders to do it so

Ĥow do I down grade it? I've tried following steps online, then Uninstaller and reinstalled. Didn't work. I even factory reset and it still didn't work
Could be a number of reasons, Did you change the channel to v1.29 and reinstall beat saber? Did you downgrade to 1.28 with qavs? Did you patch the downgraded version of beat saber with questpatcher's questloader modloader? Did you install v1.28 mods? 9 out of 10 times its one of those steps that were missed.
What do i do if all my mods are working properly, but when i get into any map the game crashes? (i also tried repeating the process to install mods but it didnt fix it)

I've modded a few days ago without issues. The change is that you need to change the channel version within your headset and reinstall beat saber. Meta's new app breaks when trying to change the channel. I have a feeling this is where you are experiencing the problem.
I can’t do it bc I had mods before and I have a lot of songs but I got rid of them bc I wanted to try ost 6 and 7 but when ever I try to get mods back it keeps crashing no matter what I do:(
Reinstall back to live twice. Then go through the guide. Make sure you use the latest version of questpatcher(use questloader and not scotland2), v1.28 mods. Start with just the core mods then add others one at a time.
when i run questpatcher as admin, it says "Windows cannot acces the specified device path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" When i try to delete it it wont even let me delete it??
@@BearskiVR but it wont let me downgrade, i keep pressing the downgrade and it takes me to a pop up saying to install the downgrade but it just gets stuck with the prompt I mentioned earlier where its saying its waiting for a response.
Sort of, any packs that came out after v1.28 won’t be playable until your return back to live. But when you do return; they’ll be there to be redownloaded and not rebought.
Unfortunately this won’t happen until Meta releases their propriety Meta Horizon OS. Google just isn’t budging. Another avenue would be to have Beat saber releasing a modable version as well but the assumption is that they wouldn’t want to risk opening up easily downloadable custom songs. I think a disclaimer would be all that’s needed but🤷
@@BearskiVR I scrolled down the list of releases and found an update about Scotland2 from which I downloaded the QuestPatcher from (still didn’t open). But other than that, I’m not sure what you mean

Bruh, you shouldn’t need a credit card. Try going to the meta dev website on a pc and try there.

Now it’s not working for me anymore. Every time I open up a level, it always crashes, no matter what’s in it. I tried remodding it, and nothing works, I can’t do anything in it. It also crashes before the game even starts.

Only ScoreSaber, core, Whackers, and bettersongsearch. I don’t even know what’s making it crash.

Hey! I followed your other tutorial you posted originally, the now patched one. It was working for a good while; however, my oculus decided it needed to factory reset today, which was unfortunate and I had to struggle to find your channel again. I followed this new tutorial, but my game doesn’t seem to have any mods, it’s just the regular beat saber, do you know what I should do?
Interesting, I have three current working guides. One for android phone, one for pc and one with just the headset.
It’s hard to say where it would have went wrong. The android method is the easiest way. And you can use the same method with a pc.
Best I can say is to try again. Must be a step or section that was missed.

@@BearskiVR I dont have any of the qosmetics installed. The walls in vanilla songs work fine but in the modded maps the walls are just faint boxes with no outline. Ive tried reinstalling the mods 6 times now.

Hey man i get to about 8:32 in the timecode and when i go do start uninstall. it says something about restoring from a backup and then pops up QUV can currently nor manage mods for Quest 3 and not anything like do you want to uninstall this app. But i think it succesffully downgraded to 1.28 dont know what to do from there. it shows the versions 1.28 and a mode this version

QAVS is just to download and downgrade to v1.28, you use quest patched to finishing modding.
@@BearskiVR Yes, i actually got it modded, between Mod Assistant and and questpatcher but it only took one day and not it dont work at all right now. I load it and sometimes it just goes to a black screen forever and dont load or it will load, and crash a few times between asking to restore and i cancel. And then when i finally do get it to play i try a level and its weird sometimes Im looking out the side towards where i would be standing and playing and when i try to use the sabers they are almost as big as the whole screen and i cant even see around them to play. I might have just put too many mods or just the wrong mods. I now cant unmod or take off some mods because i cant evne play it now. It seems to happen almost right after i modded it. I will go unisntall and re try all of it again, 1 mod at a time this time.

Honestly, this guide is official outdated. Many things have changed.
That said, give the mods by Friday method a whirl. It now provides noodle extensions and qosmetics.
I did all steps and it worked, but when i open beat saber it infinitely loads, the screen gies to the beat saber title at the beginning, and fades black indefinitely
Try restarting headset and then opening beatsaber.

The game should download followed by asking if you want to reinstall beat saber.
You could try reinstalling QAVS and see how what it says when you open it.

So, you changed the channel version to 1.29. Correct?
You then used QAVS to downgrade to v1.28?
Then you used quest patcher with "questloader" selected to patch your game.
And then you made sure you used v1.28 core mods?
If yes to all, Just reinstall beat saber and give it another go. Something must have went wrong.
Nothing works ive tried everything but now nothing is working from updates and more.
Best thing to do would be to start from the beginning.
Restore beat saber back to live. And if you try to mod again, follow each step exactly.
Chances are you didn’t change the legacy version to v1.29, didn’t downgrade to v1.28, didn’t use questloader instead of questpatcher, or didn’t use v1.28 mods.
The method will work, but it’s a house of cards set up. Need to do everything correctly from the get go.
I recently updated beatsaber to play the new levels but when I tried to go back with the same steps I’m running into a issue with quest app version switcher, it had a weird step in it where I have to connect to Wi-Fi

But for you, with exclusively bmbf and not quest patcher.
You should be be able to uninstall beat saber on the App Library and then just reinstall it. It should then be live and ready to update when ost7 is out.

100%, one of the above things didn’t happen which is crashing your game. You could reinstall beat saber twice and try again but that’s up to you.

Unplug and plug in your headset to your computer and go to notification in quick settings. The adb prompt will be there.
Click that and then you can allow.

You’d want to click open.
But it sounds like you installed the wrong core mods, didn’t downgrade to v1.28 or didn’t patch with questloader.
Reinstall everything and give it another go.

Reinsert the cable or try a new cable. 9/10 times that’s the culprit.

Chances are it’s the wrong beat saber version or the wrong version of mods that were installed or Scotland 2 was used instead of questloader

I've modded a few days ago without issues. The change is that you need to change the channel version within your headset and reinstall beat saber.
Meta's new app breaks when trying to change the channel. I have a feeling this is where you are experiencing the problem.

Reinstall back to live twice.
Then go through the guide. Make sure you use the latest version of questpatcher(use questloader and not scotland2), v1.28 mods.
Start with just the core mods then add others one at a time.

Sort of, any packs that came out after v1.28 won’t be playable until your return back to live.
But when you do return; they’ll be there to be redownloaded and not rebought.
Do you know if a new method for modding beat saber on standalon will release?
Unfortunately this won’t happen until Meta releases their propriety Meta Horizon OS. Google just isn’t budging.
Another avenue would be to have Beat saber releasing a modable version as well but the assumption is that they wouldn’t want to risk opening up easily downloadable custom songs.
I think a disclaimer would be all that’s needed but🤷
For some reason QuestPatcher 2.9 won’t open on my laptop and QuestPatcher 2.5 does open but doesn’t have QuestLoader
