- The island of Gran Canaria, 1 of 7 inhabited islands on the Canary Island Archipelago is full of astounding nature and geographic diversity. That's why it's known as a mini-continent among locals. I show you the rural side of the island, the part that few tourists see when coming here. We finished the Camino de Santiago after starting in Maspalomas in the south and traversing the 66 kilometer route to Gáldar on the north side of the island. What an adventure it was.

What a wonderful video Elliot! We had loquats in the neighborhood when I was kid spent countless hours climbing the trees for them. Here in Texas we make prickly pear jelly. In the winter time when grass and hay were in short supply, my dad and his brothers would burn off the cactus spines with blow torches so the cattle could eat the cactus. Nopalitos are a very popular dish here also! The ties with the Canary Islands truly are amazing

This was the only time except one time when I couldn’t finish something. The other time was eating tripes (stomach lining) with a Peruvian girl haha . But she was happy to finish them.

Loved watching your whole journey on the Camino Gran Canaria, Elliot! Definitely something we'd love to do at some point. We actually just got back from Tenerife and could see Gran Canaria across the ocean and clouds from Teide and was thinking how you were just there and could see Teide!

Existe una variante de "tuno" conocido coloquialmente como tuno indio, pequeño de tamaño y muy rojo en su interior cuyo colorante es muy intenso y se mantiene durante el tracto digestivo. De niños nos advierten que no debemos asustarnos si después de comerlos la orina y las heces parecen intensamente sanguinolentas, algo necesario para no entrar en pánico creyendo tener una hemorragia interna. It was just a rural farm near Gáldar.. not for tourists or anything. I just walked up to them and asked them to show me what was going on. I usually avoid “tourist” places.

Nosotros vivimos en ciudad y aveces, ya por el simple cambio de agua nos ponemos malos, imagina leche natural...
Pero bueno, si no te pasó nada... Está todo bien.
La leche cruda no es mala... Y menos si es de mi ganado 😃😃
La leche debe estar muy fresquita y de oveja más natural
