    WOW man that is a cool spreadsheet!!! I have a problem finding a monk for my peasant militia. Is there a mod that will make the monks more prevalent on the map for a peasant militia run?

    Maybe it's better to make perk upgrade on sacrifice guaranteed? Though speeding up events make you to pay more lifes for them.

    Is there a video out there where the build excel is explained how to read? I'm not sure which merc I should recruit for which build

    • @abhuyllongfellow4233
      @abhuyllongfellow4233 3 роки тому +1

      There isn't a "right merc" for "X" build. This whole game is about adaptation.
      Hire a bro, see what stars he's got, what stats came up... and then you decide where the bro goes.
      For example: A farmhand has extra stamina by default (background). You hire one cheap on a random city... he comes up with 3* in Fatigue, 2 in Atk and 2 in Def. You just got yourself a battleforged brother.
      Now a Hedge Knight comes with extra MAtk and MDef. You hire one with 2* Stamina and 3 Matk... and you got a duelist (can't convert him, though, so keep some powder in inventory).
      I remember one of the best sargeants I ever had was a Beggar (comes with minus resolve). He rolled +5 every single level up to 11 AND had Brain Damage (extra resolve). I had him classified as Fodder... turns out he became a god and I spec'd him into a sarge.
      It's all about adapting and making decisions on the go. If you must minmax, check the wiki (or mods) for the best avg backgrounds and all that.... But you'll still be locked to whatever your bro rolled and how to make the best use of them

    Hello, im on my 340 days campaign, my rooster is of 12 cultists, 3 food monks, and one gambler, still at this point no sacrifice event happened? did some1 experienced that too. could it be bcz it is the standard game only with lindwurm addition to it (have no wariors of the north, or deserts, or beasts and exploration)

      you need to buy the DLC to have acces to starting as "Davhkul cultists" in stead of mercenaries

    Nice builds. I still dont get when to pick Nimble over battleforged. I see your Duelist here are Nimble, any reason for that? To get more stam on them?

    • @jaytaylor8346
      @jaytaylor8346 3 роки тому +1

      i think if they have high ini but low stam you want nimble so they wear lighter amour, and battleforged for someone who can wear the heavy armour, im no expert tho

    • @cccbbbaaa110
      @cccbbbaaa110 3 роки тому

      if you focus more on dodge then nimble is the best. if you just wanna 2h face tank then definitely forged

    • @misteral9045
      @misteral9045 3 роки тому +5

      Late reply, but hey. To directly answer your question, yes. Duelists are very stam intensive builds, so going nimble with light armor gives a larger working stamina pool while still retaining enough defensive perks to not die. When picking your frontline bros, the real question is whether to make that brother a 2hander or a duelist. In general, a duelist is the best bro you can find. 1handed weapons won't out-damage 2handed weapons unless the bro is hitting most of his attacks, so you want a bro with very high melee attack. Making two or three attacks per round, including secondary modes like mace stun or cleaver decapitate, are very stamina intensive. So duelists are usually nimble to make a larger working stamina pool.
      Nimble with high hitpoints is situationally better than heavy armor vs chosen, unholds, and lindwurms because of their high armor-piercing attacks, but battleforged brothers can make up for that with the fur padding and/or bone plating armor attachment. In general, a nimble bro with high hitpoints will go down faster than a bro with heavy armor, simply because hitpoints will never be close to being as high as heavy armor. Most heavy armors, for example, are in the 280-320 range, whereas a three-star hitpoints bro will probably end with 120 hitpoints. Even with max 40% nimble, that's still only ~170 effective hp. So you want your duelists to have really high melee defense so they don't mind taking a hit or two, but they avoid taking a lot of hits.
      The relationship between nimble/duelist and battleforged/2hander isn't set in stone. The legendary 2handed barbarian cleaver is fairly stamina intense to swing, so making a nimble 2hander is appropriate. I've had battleforged duelists with iron lungs, an orc 1hand axe that had skills cost -3 stamina, who wore midweight armor. The long winded answer to your question is to look at your bro and see what he is capable of doing for your team, and then select the perks and stat level ups to enable him to do that. I hope this helps!

      @@misteral9045 man, I was casually playing BB for 2 years, but you finally explained that so even I understood lol
      I never used nimbles before since battleforged 2h always had a better performance, but now I see that I just made mistakes while leveling up the brothers with nimble perk. Finally I will be able to create a perfect duelist :p
      Thank you!

    Farming brain damage for bannerman is totally worth it even in non-cultist run. For any other - not so much, seeking dumb or talented convertables looks better.

    I must suck at this game...been playing it for a few months. It always takes me forever to start getting decent famed/legendary gear, like 300-500 days in. I use the old build guide, granted, but still i don't know. I guess i take my time and explore to much? Am i using to many mega tanks? Generally run 4-6 of them. I don't use throwing weapon builds, i guess that's what is hurting me.

    • @billmarquardt3743
      @billmarquardt3743 3 роки тому +2

      Way too many tanks, I keep 2-3 on the payroll, but by day 100+ you want to have 4-6 heavy armored twohanders on your frontline for armor piercing and aoe DPS. If you don't quickly scale up your tanky DPS for the late game, you'll quickly find yourself in trouble.
      Using thrower/archer hybrids will also be a game changer for you. I keep 3-4. Bows for picking off backlines, Javelins for Armor Piercing DPS, Throwing Axes to shred Skeletons and light armored enemies. Also, be using nets to make high mobility or heavy armored enemies easier to deal with, and dogs to help tie up their archers and run down the fleeing.
      Also having a mixture of Battle-forged 2h DPS and Nimble DPS is key in this new DLC, as barbarian chosen/some orcs can shred through armor like butter but heavy armor works well against southern enemies. You'll need to be able to deploy different formations and combinations of brothers to suit each late game battle at hand. There isn't really a one size fits all company.

    I'd caution against recruiting brothers that can't be converted unless they get brain damaged and counting on getting brain damaged as an injury to do so. I've done a little testing of that situation (reloading autosaves in a battle that was perfect for trying to farm a brain damage) and repeatedly sending a helmet-less hunter into a circle of enemies with clubs and flails. After 16 attempts, of his 16 deaths only 5 were 'struck down' as opposed to outright killed. Of the 5 struck downs, none of the resulting permanent injuries were brain damage despite that he was invariably dying to head damage from bludgeoning weapons (his body armour was typically still intact on death - I'd given him very heavy build-inappropriate body armour and no helmet to encourage that). Frustrating to see a brother clearly dying from his head being bludgeoned and getting a permanent injury like a missing finger or collapsed lungs.... I know it's a small sample and I may just have gotten unlucky, but still, that experience doesn't indicate much prospect of redeeming a non-convertable background with brain damage, especially in an ironman run.

    • @FilthyRobot
      @FilthyRobot  3 роки тому

      To the best of my knowledge, permanent injuries aren't related to how you're killed (outside of bleeds/decaps preventing any chance of struck down). So getting headshot to death doesn't increase the chance of brain damage.
