Agree about Jack Willis. Borthwick after the stick he got after the Autumn and some of it deserved should now be a real leader and demand he’s allowed to pick him. Also a revitalised Kyle sinckler. Overnight England become better. He’s making the RFU an offer they couldn’t refuse. 🏴
They will become better overnight , but the premiership will get a lot worse if the gates are opened , and it’s pretty bad as it is . Top 14 best league in the world and France only play home players, but there is also part of this on the players , do they want the money or do they want to play for their country and its easy to see which is more important .
@@davidwalker2402 Premiership is already quite bad compared to France/URC, central contracts should keep the core in England but I think it's becoming quite clear that England are worse off without the depth/quality of the guys playing in France - South Africa did the same and it was very much a net benefit.
On the salary point, do you happen to have the breakdown of the Premiership against the URC? While the URC doesn’t have a salary cap, I’d be surprised if any teams outside of Leinster are competing salary wise with the premier ship sides. As a Glasgow fan we’ve been losing players to the premiership for years partially down to salary. Tom Jordan just the most recent
Glasgow's salary 'cap' (not explicitly a cap) was around £8m reportedly. It is apparently coming down from there, but that gives an idea. Wales is lower than Prem, but that's reflected in performance. SA sides operate on around 85m rand, which is about £4m, so similar to Prem. although that money stretches MUCH further in SA so isn't *really lower in real terms. Many Prem teams don't spend the salary cap. So, yes, I think the performances are generally in line with money spent.
@Tim...always on point. When will rugby become truly professional where we have transfer season. Let players transfer to the club's that can pay the worth in development and star power...I just imagine rugby would make more money... imagine the players that can't break through into their unions actually making money for those unions! And YES - you are absolutely 100% right about both the Willis boys - I can't imagine HOW Borewick justifies to himself the lack of fight for both these ex-Wasps titans - but this just highlights how much he is chasing his own enhanced Pension prospects, at the expense of on-field performance.
Great to see three Munster players in the 23 (four if you include James Cronin). It might cheer their fan base up a little bit after their crankiness in recent weeks, although Prendergast's inclusion might set some of them off again 😉 Keep up the good work Tim 👏
Prendergast proved his hype on Saturday. Before that we assumed ye were blowing smoke up another fake sapphire. It's harsh that Frawley had to wait until 27 to be given a shot and had been demoted after one bad game that wasn't even for Leinster.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Why are you guys so mad that Tim chose Kolisi over JVDF? It is just an opinion, you guys should still be questioning the omission of Ox from the Player of the year nominations, atleast there it was a pannel which made an official nomination.
Not enough consideration given to quality of opposition. 4 from Toulouse against a weakened Ulster and 3 from Munster against a second string Stade. Nor enough weighing given to Home and Away.
I dont think ntamack was anything special this week, he still is not at his best since return of his injury, jalibert and russel were way better i think
@EggchasersRugby so you've chosen 2 open sides this week with Kolisi? Just asking as PSDT would be a 6 in most teams and Jack down as your 6. I agree England should be picking overseas players if the premiership can't afford the best
@@boerierollthe premiership can afford the best but chose foreigners instead. Wiese playing in the premiership and Willis in France doesn’t make much sense. It’s the same paying pollard to play in England and letting Farrell leave. There’s numerous examples

Same shit with Dupont who plays awsome at club level but hasnt won anything of note at all internationally Being a great club player will never ever be equal to being a great international player
I don't think winning things is a fair metric. That means if PSDT was playing for Wales he wouldn't be best player? And on Willis, he can't help England's (ridiculous) rules. He is a stand out player in a team of superstars who are the best players for their countries - Chocobares and Mallia for Argentina, Konghorn for Scotland, Dupont, Mauvaka and Meafou for France, Capuozzo for Italy. Even among all of them he stands out as one of their very best players. Not sure Kolisi, van Der Flier, McReight, Gonzalez would get picked above him if they joined Toulouse. He's an incredibly good player, we can all agree that :)
@EggchasersRugby England's rules are absolutely ridiculous I agree If PSDT played for wales they wouldent lose 13 games in a row because he'd literally carry them solo to at least one win he's that good. I will continue to say exactly what ive said for years. Club play will never ever be equal to international play in any way. International players are automatically better than club players. And YES - you are absolutely 100% right about both the Willis boys - I can't imagine HOW Borewick justifies to himself the lack of fight for both these ex-Wasps titans - but this just highlights how much he is chasing his own enhanced Pension prospects, at the expense of on-field performance.
Money talks in the club rugby
Great job, but how on earth do you manage to watch all those games 😂
but in reality I don't know half of the players mentioned so i have to give you credit😅
I would like if your bench was bench players, coming on and making an impact.
And Craigy
Bulls and stormers were like not on the field at all
The Eden Park test match you've been calling for is happening..... 6th Sept 2025
What! Only 12 matches?!? You didn’t watch the Challenge Cup??? 😂
Great to see three Munster players in the 23 (four if you include James Cronin).
It might cheer their fan base up a little bit after their crankiness in recent weeks, although Prendergast's inclusion might set some of them off again 😉
Keep up the good work Tim 👏
Prendergast proved his hype on Saturday. Before that we assumed ye were blowing smoke up another fake sapphire. It's harsh that Frawley had to wait until 27 to be given a shot and had been demoted after one bad game that wasn't even for Leinster.
Until Itoje cuts out his ridiculous celebrations, he will never make my team. I think he is just a show pony.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Why are you guys so mad that Tim chose Kolisi over JVDF? It is just an opinion, you guys should still be questioning the omission of Ox from the Player of the year nominations, atleast there it was a pannel which made an official nomination.
Willis is the best top 14 open side, he’s not better than Van der Flier 😂
Not enough consideration given to quality of opposition. 4 from Toulouse against a weakened Ulster and 3 from Munster against a second string Stade. Nor enough weighing given to Home and Away.
not a good weekend for the premiership
I dont think ntamack was anything special this week, he still is not at his best since return of his injury, jalibert and russel were way better i think
:)
So Tim, if Jack Willis is the best in his position in the world does that mean over PSDT?
PSDT is not an open side flanker
@EggchasersRugby so you've chosen 2 open sides this week with Kolisi? Just asking as PSDT would be a 6 in most teams and Jack down as your 6. I agree England should be picking overseas players if the premiership can't afford the best
Van der flier best open side in the world
@@boerieroll Typical saffa fan, cry us a river
@@boerierollthe premiership can afford the best but chose foreigners instead. Wiese playing in the premiership and Willis in France doesn’t make much sense. It’s the same paying pollard to play in England and letting Farrell leave. There’s numerous examples
What, no Eben at 4? 🙄😉
Jack Willis is awsome but yeah no hes not even close to the best openside in the world and he will never be close till he plays in the international game. Same shit with Dupont who plays awsome at club level but hasnt won anything of note at all internationally
Being a great club player will never ever be equal to being a great international player
@EggchasersRugby England's rules are absolutely ridiculous I agree
If PSDT played for wales they wouldent lose 13 games in a row because he'd literally carry them solo to at least one win he's that good.
I will continue to say exactly what ive said for years. Club play will never ever be equal to international play in any way. International players are automatically better than club players. End of story
Toulouse were playing against a truly pathetic awful embarrassing Ulster. Anybody would look good playing against them !!!!
Sita played at 8.
Yep. I mention I moved him across to get him and Coombes in the team.
Willis is the best top 14 open side, he’s not better than Van der Flier 😂
