Hey I just got a job as an apprentice for this type of work. And oh man have your videos be so informative. I've never worked on shower door installation. But I feel like I can start work without feleling useless your very informative!!!
Welcome to the trade! Best of luck and keep learning!
I love the videos, my family owns a glass company in NC. I’m beginning to install frameless showers. I’d love to see a video showing maybe your essential tools, and tips and tricks for installs.
Thanks! As far as tools, I find Dewalt is best.. BUT I love Ryobi for lights and vacuums.
As far toolboxes.. Dewalt T-Stak all the way! ua-cam.com/video/rcNE5gWO5D4/v-deo.html
Thank you. What material or what are you using for the shims?
I like your videos! What should I do if our hinges is coming out of the wall on our glass shower door?
Thanks! The door and hinges must be removed. Inspect the holes, perhaps they're bigger than the anchors used allow. Bigger anchors my be the fix.
@@ExceptionalGlassLLC I really appreciate your response! Thank you.
Hi, the main question I have, is were you able to screw the new screws into the existing holes in the tile without any trouble, or does it strip the threading?
The old Anchors were removed and new ones placed. Then the new hinge was installed.
@@ExceptionalGlassLLC awesome! Thank you!!
What are the allen screws on the back for? Just set screws or any adjustment from those?
Those allen screws pin the outside part of the shower door hinge.
I highly recommend not loosening it.
It's been installed from the factory with loctite.
I haven’t touched those screws . I adjusted my door the way you show in your videos it was missing the plastics between the glass and hinge . I was just curious what those allen screws were for . So those are not for adjustment right they should not be loosened.
Do the screws that are used to sandwich the glass with the hinge need loctite ?
I have a glass door that won’t close all the way it’s an. Inch from closing but keeps pushing back..any tips
Try this! ua-cam.com/video/79VGdu0oHpM/v-deo.html
From Video, the failed hinges are stainless steel. So very cheaper. Not good for shower. You use CRL hinge is brass, quality standard. And nice hinges.
Where do I get shims or what do I make them from?
Exactly!
local glass shop or hardware store. These are simple rubber strips.
