It might be really great (personally, I think the whole concept is corny). It’s the demo/marketing video that was painfully terrible and terribly painful. It would have been hilarious if it wasn’t so headache inducing.

regarding "Hype", PA does this to every release, they start charging $200 and even $400 and 6 months later it drops to $20.
True dat...and in the end, ALL of the Plugin Alliance stuff I've ever encountered isn't even worth that. Especially since you can get far better tools that do all of that...for free. Might not be all in one VST...but who cares, really?
You know PA heavily discounts all their plugins after the first year, right? There is no reason to ever spend more than $50 on a PA plugin. So the real question should be is it worth up to $50
PA does have some great plugins, but the game you have to play is obnoxious. I don't bother anymore

AJA (All jokes aside), ADPTR/UrsaDSP's HYPE actually gives a hardware analogue sound ITB and a nice K-Stereo imaging.
if you mess around with the Compressor section, it has TWO built-in EQ algos of transient and body EQ's which come in handy to dull out
clashing hi-hats and let the snare snap through the mix without needing to use something like Eventide's SplitEQ as another plugin to add to the chain unnecessarily.
Doing this and turning up the HYPE button to 100%, you can get some very, very interesting audio restoration and/or new stereo imaging you'd never imagine beforehand.

This got me thinking of how Adobe stole the Photoshop clone stamp tool from another company but just buried them in litigation when they took it to court. Now we’ve got the subscription model, so yeah I’m onboard with Scam-dobe. Although the trick is to have work pay for it all and then install it on a second computer… at home (or so I’m told).
That sounds like stuff that you would find on demos back in the old 80s digital synth age when they would play the corny demos and expect to sell synthesizers that way.

About the BLL pricing -- I thought $1000+ is pretty fair. These types of small production instruments cost a lot to put together so it's a pretty understandable price range. (I'm not personally interested in the instrument itself though)

I have to wonder if there is more to the Kodamo thing that meets the eye. The "demo" was terrible to the point of embarrassing. Their FM synth is pretty well-liked, though. The new thing sort of reminds me of a Linnstrument with other controls on it.

I work with Adobe products on a regular basis, and I have massive doubts about their AI music tools. Image and coding generation? Sure, but Adobe has never done music before and it feels way too corporate for their own good. Unless you're generating corporate ukulele music

Nobody is paying the full price for PA plugins. You play the PA poker and get it for $29. Or maybe a bit more if you're impatient, but never anything close to the full price. The full price is there just for laughs. It's very stupid, but that's how it is.
