I love your honesty and candidness especially about body conditioning and age and how it affects you and your skating style. As an older skater myself never your level or body fitness level. I have been hard on myself for not being able to do what I once could or take the discomfort I once could.
Having the axles on the right means they don't unwind themselves if they get a bit loose. Could be a safety feature, not just cost.
That actually makes total sense. I never ever though about it. 👊🏼👊🏼 I will make some tests 🙏🏻
that's an interesting thought.
i always want my axles on the inside, so that when i fall on the frames it is less likely to screw up the axles. this is of course more a concern for downhill and aggressive skating than speed skating.
might be interesting to see if ricardo can actually test your idea aobut it somehow.
THIS. Every skate frame i have or had has it this way and it is for that very reason. And i have seen axles loosen or lost if its not done this way...
My Powerslide katanga frames and Seba FR1 both have the hex opening on the inside, and I have never had issues with the bolts coming loose.
I'm quite sure it's just for a cheaper manufacturing.
I am quite sure that it is done of safety reasons. It was also my conclusion when I thought about it. And had it on other skates too.
how fabulous to see someone do a hockey stop (powerslide) in a low speed skate!! nice review, thanks!!
Quite awesome that they made the 110mm version, perfect (not only) for ladies. I recommended it to a friend and since then got a regular companion for long distance skating. Happy!
Have you tried in urban environments too... like over pavements in particular... I was interested in this skates but we have a mixed road type
@@geevarghesemammen3310 It depends on the type of pavement in your cities. In the small towns in my area, there are often bumpy medieval cobbles. They are difficult to skate with any PU-wheel skate, even with the E2. That's why I mostly skate the countryside. Flat cobblestone, however, works pretty well and for rough asphalt my friend and I use the 84A Matter track road marathon wheels. They take away plenty of vibration.
I just bought these E2 110’s... excited to get them!! Skated my first marathon last year and will take any advantage I can get.
Totally sold, want to start marathon training, they just built a long straight stretch of road nearby, it's almost a highway, but very few cars (mostly trucks). Perfect place to practise double push and technique. But still having a blast with my fr3 310 in traffic and sidewalks! But the inner heel hurts a bit, heat molded them 2-3 times and not ok yet. So I'm ready to try a new boot. Thanks for all the info! 🫡
I love listening to how you break down all those little details! Truly passionate. I don't think I would ever be a speed skater but those skates look amazing
I haven't speed skated since I was in my 20's but have been wanting to skate again for fitness reasons. I ordered a pair of these based on your review to get myself back in shape before I even consider ordering another full priced set of speed skates. Need to get my ankles back in shape before I am ready for low cut boots again. Thanks for the review!
You're awesome Ricardo. Thanks for the good information
I think you making a good point on the company saving some expenditures in putting the heads of the screws in that position. In my POV this design helps in saving time coz you don't have to change use both hands in unscrewing then while they are on your feet. This saves time too. Only one hand can open both the right and the left screws :)
Little correction concerning the frames; not only a cost effective way to produce, but the axles fasten in the same forward direction on both frames so that they can't turn themselves loose during skating...
The mount where the wheel are could be exchanged to have a 4x110mm setup?
Was gonna ask this myself
I´ve just ordered one pair! Anxious for the first ride! Thanks Ricardo for the help...and the push. Obrigado.
How was your experience?
@@abcborgess Quality is very good! The wheels size is big compared with my previous 80mm which reduce maneuverability. I'm in the learning process. Happy overall.
How’s the fit on these bad boys? I have wide feet and am looking into getting into the marathon skate. I’ve been on blades since the 80s and have found rollerblade tends to be narrow. How do these stack up?
Thanks @Ricardo Lino , I've been waiting on this review! Can you speak as to whether they fixed the problems of the previous Endurace models where there the boot pinches on the area in front of the ankle, and the thing where the cuff presses down on the top of the boot when you flex forward?
Excuse me, Did you happen to find the answer? between that and the narrow front I am a little annoyed at Rollerblade. they always had much better fits for bigger feet than anyone else.
@@warrickterry4742 You know marathon skaters only have tiny narrow feet without toes. At least the industry (especially Powerslide) seems to think so. 🙄🙄🙄
Could you be so kind to do another review on those, but more on the skating part.. I orderd a pair, but dont have acces to them for another 5 weeks... I am more interested in fit form, comfort, if they are tight fitting, what support they have, is frame adjustable...
Awesome with a review on one of these "enthusiast" speed skates.!
It's a sub genre I really hope will grow.
What you can really see in Rollerblade brand, they have a good design team. The shapes, the materials and the colors are often premium and on point. More than from the other usual suspects. I think it also comes from their long history. Sure, design is often a question of personal taste. I just tell from my personal observation as an industrial designer myself. Will order them now ✌🏼
The 45eg strap seems to be just to give the skate more structural rigidity since the whole top is connected to one side. I don't think that one needs to be super tight. Is just so your heel stays in the pocket.
That's also what I found with my 3WD. The 45deg strap doesn't help with ankle side stability nearly as much since that's the work of the cuff. I barely crank that buckle, just enough for my heel to stay in place.
To use these without cuff you need to have pretty good technique and trained ankle muscles cause if you go sloppy your ankles will not take the beating. You'll start pronating real bad out of ankle exhaustion and with such a tall long frame you risk breaking your ankle.
you're stride is amazing Mr. Lino you have some much power and grace 👌
amazing man!
i really enjoyed watching this comprehensive review; just a point!
i wish i could see that in action as well, i mean like skating with that and filming it; but it was so cool thanks again🙏
Thanks for your review. I was not sure if this was the prefer rollerblade for what I like to do but after watch you review, I was. Just receive them yesterday and toke then for a spin. Wow, love them for all the reasons mentioned in your review.
Nobody gonna say anything about him leaving his kid in the beginning lol.
Europe is safer than USA.
Ricardo, can you comment on sizing? I read somewhere they tend to run short
Bro I love your channel and you've actually made me buy a roller skate... Am looking forward to be a a pro as you...
I think that if you need to tighten/loosen the wheels quickly and not change hands the screws are better placed the way they have them. You just tilt your feet in one direction and voila. Just guessing of course. 😊
hey! i meassured my feed to be 27,3 cm and im not sure which size to get, can sb help me out here?
I got mine, build quality is amazing. But the laces are difficult to tight up. I will try to replace the laces. And I think the 45 degree strap are just for keeping lace ends in case they get loose and also for aesthetics. Thus, I suggest to really take your time when choosing the right size before buying these.
André, how was the size for you? I'm about to buy them, but not sure whether to go to my actual size in centimeters or a size up. Thanks in advance
@@monixomoni size was good. I went with a 1cm larger than mine. But I think I would just need little more tightness from that 45 degree strap. I feel the problem is that the 45 degree strap is not functional. I would not buy these right now. I would even get the new EVO or I would get a RB pro.
@@abcborgess Can you expand a bit on your experience with the skates?
@@abcborgess maybe arise instead of evo if you really prefer a more Fitness oriented skating?
Hi Ricarco, can you jump over any obstacles on the way with these skates? Or are they not strong and stable enough for that? I saw that you can also slide with them, even without strengthening the ankle.
Do you think this is a good skate for alpine? Thanks for your videos
Excellent video! I'm trying to decide between the e2 and the POWERBLADE PRO 125
Looks like the powerblade pro came out in 2018 and has a boot that can be heat molded.
Do you have any thoughts comparing the e2 to the the powerblade pro 125?
Hi Ricardo, can install twister edge 3wd 110 frame in this boot ?
Please review rollerblade maxxum.
I couldn't find a good video review anywhere
i dont go to rollerblading since january i just go to do mtb i dont regreat for that but i will love skate again in a circuit again just hope they will open skate parks again
The boot looks exactly like a skate-skiing boot. I might get these for off-season training. Better than chewing up my expensive skate-ski boots while rollerskiing.
Great review! Yeah those are really nice, someone even recommended them to me for a transition to speed skating, but I think I’m gonna go with the updated Seba Marathon 110 instead.
Thanks for this video, and many others. can you send a link to where you can purchase other boots that will fit these frames? I have this skate but the boot hurts my ankle. Thanks again. I really enjoy your videos.
do they fit wide? My feet are slightly wider than normal.
They look really good.
And one brand I really like.
Good review.
Thank you for answering me in live streem
I'm a bigger guy that is getting back into rollerblading after a 10 year break. I rode from like age 3 to age 18. One problem I have is I have quite large/muscular calves and most boots rub on the bottom of my calf muscle. Would a boot like the slightly higher version of the two be a good investment even for just cruising around town or at a rink?
Thats endurace, wow, i got maxxum 125 3wd, good also
I've used the RB 125 frames, hydrogen wheels & ILQ-9 bearings together for speed/fitness skating and loved them. This new boot looks like a good match.
Many thanks from Atlanta Georgia USA
So how many miles can you crush on the silver comet?
@@jamesp5644 Oh, man! I'd never heard of the Silver Comet in Georgia, but just looked it up. 61 miles of smoothly paved exercise trail! Sounds like heaven!!!!! I hope I find myself in the area some time in the future. I'd definitely skate a good chunk of it!!!
Dude I love the black wheeladdict T-shirt!!
Hello, Lino. I've seen your video many times before. I hope I can get an exact answer from you! I wanted to buy the E2pro 125, but the local store only had the E2 110 because of the COVID-19, and I noticed that the maximum support wheel diameter of the E2 110 is 125mm .So I want to ask the difference is only the wheel Are there differences elsewhere
Is that what they call the "double push" technique?
How is the stability without the cuffs?
Nice one bro
Great video. played hockey my whole life, looking to get into rollerblading more seriously and this video was great! The molding process is cool and definitely works super well for hockey skates but these will be a perfect intro competitive skate
Good review. Do you have one for the twister edge?
Good Review !
Could you mention some stores where I could get a good price for those skates?
they interest me a lot
How these compare w the Powerslide HC Evo Pro
Hi i want buy one so how much it cost sir
What size did you get, Ricardo?
Great stuff!
Can I change the frames of these boots? I know RB does some boots with fixed frames like the Macroblades
Yes, the boot has 195 mount
can i use E2 boots for slalom?
New to your channel, wish I came across this sooner! I'm looking to switch from a 4x90mm to a 3x125mm skate.. What you said toward the end about tripping on your feet because of the wider base makes me wonder if these, or the Rollerblade Maxxum Edge 125 would be the better upgrade? Any thoughts if you have time are appreciated! Thanks for the awesome breakdown
What did you chose?
Ricardo (or anyone else)... do you know if there is any difference in the boot itself between the E2 110 and the E2 Pro 125? Or is the cost difference all about the frame/bearing/wheel difference and the boots are identical?
One has 110mm wheels vs 125. Both are pretty much the same and fast skates
Say Ricardo have you seen the atom Pro Fitness skate? They make a 3x110 that's 11.6 in Long it seems like the perfect skate to not be too tall not be too long be able to maneuver but still speed skate but have support. I'm really curious about the build quality. I'm wondering if they would let you try them. It would be awesome if you gave these a shot and if you get the chance some feedback! Thanks for doing videos! Thumbs up!
not very good quality overall, my left and right skate differ :( the lacing ends low and the cuff is crappy, so not very good support.
Hey great review! Is it possible to put 110 wheels into those ones? I know there's 110 version but i really want to try the 125 one. Do you think if 125 is too much i could just put smaller wheels?
Downsizing a frame is always possible. Won't be as stable and low like having a frame fitting this size but definitely a alternative way.
my ankles are so freaking small, i can wrap my thumb and ring finger around them, bout an inch shy, I want something comfortable yet rigid for power transfer and I used to go on like 50 mile rides on K2 motos, so long ago, no Im all beat up 20 plus years later but I think I wanna get back into it, something fast but maneuverable
Got them for 2 months now but having a lot of problem with several painfull pressure points at the ankle and top of foot.
Did the problems go on? I want to order them.
@@janmeissner9093 yes, they still hurt unfortunately. Could be my technique or shape of my foot but have managed to reduce the painspots by putting some custom made foampads around my foot. I diddn't feel these painspots when I tested it in the shop. The pain will come after 30 minutes or so.
@@erwinvandenberg6055 my pair just arrived today and they were instantly uncomfortable for me. see my comment at the top of the list. i'm returning them. I'm very very very disappointed because they look so awesome :(
That car back up hella fast lolol
Dear Ricardo, I appreciate too much your way to share all you knowledge about this beautiful sport
But this time I bet you will never use those skates in the real life.
May be complicated to not give a good opinion of the skates have been sent to you for review, but if anyone believe in your words telling that this skate is fine, could buy them and would have a very ugly experience about skating, you know this.
If use them with the upper cuf, it is not more comfortable than any hard boot skate as Falcon F.E. or Imperial PS.
And if you use it as low boot it is a nightmare. As it is not hard boot, all support is given by the laces so that type of pressure damage the blood traffic into the feet.
And you must feel this pain on your feet because you didn't talk just positive about the boots.
I suggest you to be really honest for all people who appreciate you because all good information you keep sharing with us so long ago, I figure most all of us believe you are a free man who usually tell us your own mind opinions, I feel some sorry for you this time because of this video.
As you some way say in a moment, the only good thing about this skates must be their frames to use for 3x125mm wheels.
Besides this comments, I always will think you are an excellent person and keep thank you for all your kind instruction so long time to now.
1000 good tips
vs 1 bad comment.
No way to change our mind about so much you are one of the best on this field by all the different matters you share from tips about simply wheels to show us real factories.
I also bet you were willing to get some bad review about this video to ease your mind.
Took my words with a smile please, I am also smiling for you.
Receive a hug from distance, I appreciate you very much
Got mine 2 weeks now, they should have made them heat moldable
What is the weight of this skate?
Jeeej congrats 🔥
Please open up the skate and show the padding❣️
wow this cool
❤ liked
A pretty positive review. It looks like this 2nd version is superior to the first. I have the older 110mm model and the lacing system is pretty crap..really difficult to tighten up, looks much improved now. Cool to see you on some 'speed' skates, are you tempted to get some proper ones? Congrats on the 50k 👏 👏 👏
"looks" much improved... i have owned these E2 pro 125 for about two months. I like them but one thing... the straps still are from like 1990s! probably the 3rd time i rode on these I wasn't able to fully tighten up my boots because the straps (all 4) stripped.. I've contacted the seller... hopefully there's some type of resolution. Paying quite a bit for these and the strap fails prematurely... the simplest part... :(
@@phile4108 Did you get it solved?
@@abcborgess yes and no. Apparently it’s the same issue with the replaced ones. I was thinking of calling again but I don’t wanna feel like “that guy”. The reseller was able to replace the straps free however.
@@phile4108 When tying your laces, tie the laces twice before making the butterfly knot. I try to find a video to show how to do it.
ua-cam.com/video/niHapElcBf0/v-deo.html in this dutch video from 5.00 min .
Song title?
I wish I had money to buy this lol
Fast wheels? Isn't it mostly in the bearings???
Bearings are very important, but good polyurethane for the wheels is also very important. The hydrogen wheels are a good all around wheel.
Bearings aren't important at all. The precision that bearings are manufactured at only comes into play at RPMs well above what a skater could generate.
@@Shawn-wt4kh I'm going to have to disagree since these bearings I were using started making noises and wouldn't spin as well as they used to.
Regarding the screw/bolting, with the left skate tightening on the inside of the frame screw tightens in a clockwise direction, the same direction as the wheel rotation do the screw is always tightening ‘if’ not free in the bearing. The same goes for the right boot, the forward wheel rotation tightens the screw clockwise. If the tightening on the rh boot was on the inside the wheel direction is opposite the tightening of the screw thus can undo?? Just a thought.... maybe rollerblade are trying to be clever....
@@dstone6964 no you obviously can't un tighten the bolts because there's not nearly enough friction for that to happen. Those bolts clamp down HARD
My problem with this skate is that the tongue bites in my ankle where the tongue is very thin just below the removable part of the tongue. Any tips anyone?
u can use tapes on ur foot where u have pain, its helpin a lot
Sir, I think you forgot your daughter at the playground 😬
They are garbage, they wear out so fast, the boot is bulky with too much padding. I switched to powerslide arise and they are way better and there wheels and bearings are superior to rollerblade. The price of the two are basically the same
I understand your pointing view but it also depends on where you are with your skating in terms of padding. But for the wheels well, the RB are for sure a superior quality compared to the ones that come on the arise. At least the versions I have.
Rb come with wheels made in USA by aend and arose with Asian made UC WHEELS . The undercover raws don’t last as long and have a slower ride to me for sure. 👍🏻
So glad I didn't waste my money on this crap
