I'm surprised nobody mentioned the belt clip was on upside-down.
I bought this drill back in April 2021 as a promo and leapt on it
I did have an issue 6 months later, where the fwd/ rev switch was stuck and wasn't able to engage the reverse function.
The drill was collected by UPS, fixed the next day and returned to me on day 3.
Besides the above issue, I'm very happy with this drill and Festool's customer service. 10/10
Strange, I had the exact same issue, and it took 2 weeks to fix and return, the service department’s communication was questionable. Drill is awesome.
UK festool user here, I recently bought this as an upgrade from my PDC, killer feature for me being a lefty, is the ability to change the forward reverse button via my festool app so it works the other way meaning I don’t change the direction accidentally with my forefinger and thumb.
Is it a big upgrade? I’d like to upgrade my pdc but can’t decide if this is a worthy upgrade
@@carbb5760 good question, my PDC was well used and still worked well. It was perfect timing as I passed it on to a mate who was starting out and needed kit, otherwise I would of probably carried on using it till it died. I do prefer the speed selection and as I said the choice of direction switching helps me.
@@adamlythgoe8574 ill follow up here, I do like the feel of the pdc the trigger and balance are both good. I just find it to be very large and underpowered. So hopefully the tpc solved those issues as I think I’ll pull the trigger

Sorry I missed today's "Festool Live" episode. My wife is in a memory care home and I had a meeting with them this morning. Due to time zone differences we are three hours earlier than the Eastern time zone. I'm currently looking at adding a Festool drill kit to my collection so today's topic was very timely. The TPC is JUNK !! ... its big, very low on torque vs other top brands... the TWO drills that were sent to be BOTH jammed up after literally 3 or 4 holes into brickwork... the gear selector was stuck solid on both drills... total junk
One or two swallows don't make a summer. If they truly were junk, UA-cam would be all over it along with the FestoolOwnersGroup forums et al. It's been 11 months since your comment and I'm not seeing crazy issues like this.
Also, on the torque, I would have originally agreed with you. However, the application for the drill isn't to be a torque monster. If you want that, get a Makita 40v XGT. Even the new Hilti Nuron top-of-the-range drill one has 85nm in first gear. That's a far cry from their previous top-of-the-line brushed 130nm in first gear torque. The TPC and TDC are more about finesse and even more so with the old and upcoming CXS and TXS.
