-----------------
A verb in Arabic can have an active voice الْمَعْلُوْم or a passive voice الْمَجْهُوْل
Only a Transitive Verb الفِعلُ المُتَعَدِّي can have a passive voice, Intransitive Verb الفِعلُ اللَّازِمُ cannot have a passive voice.
A transitive verb requires one or more مَفْعُولٌ بِهِ to complete the meaning of the verbal sentence.
An intransitive verb does not require a مَفْعُولٌ بِهِ to complete the meaning of the verbal sentence
In this lesson we will learn the pattern for passive verbs for the Perfect and Imperfect tense.

Ustadh made it very clear. Easy to follow and understand. May Allah reward you in both worlds.
Does the rules mentioned here apply for the verbs Form 2, 3, ..., 10?
I leave my notes here so that it may benefit others. (and for reference when I come back in this video again In Shaa Allah.)
16:30 Pattern of the Passive
Rules:
* Past tense
1. Don't touch the 3rd root letter
2. Don't leave the 2nd root letter ( change to Kasrah )
3. Put Dammah on the 1st root letter
* Present tense
1. Don't touch the 3rd root letter
2. Don't leave the one before the 3rd root letter ( put Fathah on it)
3. Leave everything else
3. Put Dammah on the 1st letter (which is the sign of the present tense)
May Allah bless you for sharing these notes, it will certainly help us all.
Also I am so pleased to see that you are making your own notes, learning from the videos and they are bringing benefit.
May Allah make it easier for all of us to learn and understand Quran
Another excellent teaching!!!

Asalam Alaikum Ustad. The breakdown and concept practice at the end of this video are amazing. It would be great if you have these more. SubhanAllah, very interesting, and fun to implement these rules in Quran. Jazakallah. May Allah reward you for your efforts. Ameen.

Imperfect should not be was (past).
It is being opened.
It is being helped.
It will be helped.
Sorry I am not sure what your are asking here
Salam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh Ustaz
I firstly want to appreciate your efforts in putting this out there for the ummah. You've really made concepts clear and made my recitation less of mistakes now, I say a big jazakallah khairan
I've a little question
why do some active مضارع words have their first letter in rafa3 status, for example يُخرجُهم,
Waalaikumsalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
I am sorry I do not understand what you are asking, as far as I know there is no such thing as a "first letter being rafa" in Arabic.
@TheLanguageofQuran what I mean is that the first letter has ضمة on it. For example, يُخرجهم which I feel is an active verb, starts with a ضمة، and I wonder why it's not يَخرجهم
This looks like a passive verb -
Jazakallahu Khairun for your lessons. I'm going through all of them.
One question: if I have a plural non 'aqil, should I use the singular feminine for the passive? For example "the heavens have been created" will need khuliqna or khuliqat?
A note: in 29:45 you put "you (f) was helped", but in English you must say "...were helped"
Assalamualikum,
Thank you for the correction 29:45, insha Allah I will correct in the next version.
"khuliqna or khuliqat" I am sorry I cannot give a detailed reply to this type of questions by text. As the entire rules will need to be re-written here.
my advice is that you go though the Quran and look at uses of passive forms, and study these rather than all the possibilities
23:57 the title in arabic is madhi' when I think its supposed to be saying mudari' as well as the english title. Is this correct?
Jazakulallah khair
Yes thank you, this is a typing error inshaAllah I will correct in the next release
At 25:14 the english meaning of the perfect passive and imperfect passive are the same. Should it be the same?
Thank you - it is a typo error on my behalf, InshaAllah will correct for future lessons
Assalamualaikum wrwb Ustadh. Just would like to clarify, in the video at 24.50min will the majhool mudhari change to past tense or will the meaning translate to he/it will be opened etc instead of was opened. JazakaAllahu khair.
Walikumusalaam, yes you are right,
Assalamu Alaykum, Alhamdulilah for these lessons
28:50
Isn't the ta in Nasarat and Nusirat to show it is feminine and the faa'il is mustatir?
and 55:00
Isn't Qabli Dharf?
May Allah make it easy for us to learn and thank you so much for benefiting the Ummah with your work
Jazak Allahu Khayran
Wa'alaikumussalam wbt. According to what I learnt, as u mentioned, the ta is to indicate feminine & the dhomir is mustatir.
The Ustaz has a wonderful way of explaining. Really appreciate his lessons. Jazakumullahu khayran katheera to Ustaz Muhammad Arjan Ali & those helping to put together these lectures.
is this sentences correct?
- خَلق الانسَانَ من علق
- جُلق الانسانُ من علق
Assalamulikum, please forgive me, due to the detailed reply needed in answering questions, giving clarification or explaining any Arabic grammar rules, I am am note able to answer any questions or check text on this platform.

Please accept my sincere apology
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.
55:39 ..in “wa yaumal qiyamati “ what makes yaum take a fathah and not a damma??
Yawm is a ظرف an Adverb of time, it is a type of Object (not yet covered) in the series of lessons, I have posted.
An object is always Mansub
Jazakallahu khairan kaseera for replying. I request you to pls cover the above zarf topic also.
This will be covered in detail in Book 2 In Sha Allah
