Just made this...I also added a stick of cinnamon after the boiling stage but throughout the simmer and then removed it - wow!! It's an awesome umami flavor. I was making prawn sushi and instead of soy and wasabi I put this over the prawns and rolled them up...nothing else needed. A real flavor 💣. Thank you for sharing this.
That looks so delicious and thank you. I think I would’ve added a little ginger but like you said every recipe can change cording to taste and thank you.
I just found your site yesterday. Thank you Chef for sharing your talents with us, my daughter yesterday told me she has been buying this and loves it. I will surprise her on her next visit with a Jar of your recipe. I know she will prefer this to any store bought. God bless you, Houston, TX
I’ve just found your channel and I am now obsessed 🤩 love every single video! You make cooking so simple clear and easy to understand!! Thanks for such great videos!!
I was listening to a chill playlist today while studying, and a song came up that was super familiar, then I realized it's one of the background songs you use in your videos!!
Another great vid, I tried making garlic oil, didn't know what to do really so just put some cloves of garlic in the bottle of oil! it kinda worked but I think I'll do this next time lol
Mate awesome recipe thanks very much.. Bro not sure if your aware but you say 2 tablespoons of salt or 8g when it should be 2 teaspoons.. lucky I checked the ingredient list..
That looks delicious! I want to try this one! I freeze in the oil i make in cubes. I was warned about dangerous bacteria in garlic oil and informed to only keep it for about 4 days in the fridge. Im curious, is that not needed? Or how come you can store it for so long?
Great question. I have a note in the description about this. Long story short. If adding garlic, you're right, it does only last 4-7 days. If not using garlic it lasts a lot longer. Botulism is very very rare but its good to be cautious
Oh this one sounds interesting... Gonna try this one. The chilli flakes you used look hot -- want to try making sambal ikan bilis? Basically translates to a local thingy we have -- spicy anchovies. Just that I think our anchovies aren't like yours. If I'm not mistaken ours are baby setipinna taty. Don't take my word for it though haha. Sambal ikan bilis has chilli, anchovies, onions, garlic as main ingredients. The "dry" version isn't very dry but is is very nice. Maybe when you eventually go globe trotting. haha Hmm. I should make some and take a video. We're out of sambal.
You really should, it has so much flavour. Yes the chillies I used are really hot 😁. I will look into the sambal ikan bilis, it sounds interesting! Thanks for letting me know.
Yummmmyyy....iam surely gonna try this.... Just one question, can I use sesame seeds instead of peanuts, will it taste nice?.. Also, congratulations Jack...you rock as always.... Cheers from India...💕💕
I wanted to point out that in your written recipe it says : 2 teaspoons salt. Yet in the video you say: 2 table spoons. Unfortunately I added 2 tablespoons of salt and only later realised why it was waaaay too salty xD
I’ve seriously been meaning to do this. I’m waiting on my oven to be fixed as it decided to stop working a couple of weeks ago. As soon as it’s fixed, I’ll get onto this!
Yes I do! I have planned this week to start designing the website and will try and launch it as soon as possible. This will feature full print off recipes as well as instructions and so much more!
To those who have made this recipe, is this similar to the S&B Crunchy Garlic with chili oil you can buy? I am looking for a recipe closer to than than other seriously hot garlic chili oil recipes... I'm a weeny when it comes to extra chili and the S&B is perfect for me, but imports of it are horribly expensive now where I live.
Jack, you need to add a note where you said two tablespoons of salt instead of two teaspoons, otherwise some people are going to have their faces turned inside out if they follow the recipe by the video rather than the written version! 😂
I love this one. It's a nice change from people making full recipes, to make an ingredient to use over time.
I’m glad you think so. This recipe is a great addition to so many dishes.
Congratulations on the 100k Jack!! I'll be here for the 200k!
Thank you so much! Your support is amazing! 🙏🙏

Just made this. The addition of brown sugar at the end and how it melds with the garlic, so frigging delicious! Keep up the good work!
I’m so glad you enjoy it. The brown sugar really changes it and creates the most amazing partnership with the other ingredients.
I used 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp salt and added about 1/8c oyster sauce at the end. This recipe is. 🔥 LOVE IT!
Good stuff! Thank you!
Ommmmg🙊I literally had a chat today with my mom about making homemade chili oil. YOU'R A WIZARD🧙♂️

@@ChefJackOvens Success! I keep them all (sorry, had to tell the World 🤣)
Yeah! You hit 100k subscribers!
It’s crazy!! 🙏
How amazing! Is it dark or light brown sugar?
For how long can we store this and is it safe to be kept outside? Or should be refrigerated?
Last for 6 months? WTF are you talking about?!!! That won't last a week in my house. GREAT VID. Super thanks.
Haha thank you 🙏

It really has and I have some great things planned that are coming very soon. Thank you so much for your support, it means the world to me!! 🙏🙏
Vietnamese people love this kind of thing.
It’s such a great flavouring to so many things.
Jack can i use Olive Oil instead of Canola?
You can however you will taste the oil slightly. Canola has a neutral flavour.
@@ChefJackOvens yeh i might stick with Canola. Thanks heaps Jack.
💕💕💕"NICE & DELICIOUS"💕💕💕
Glad you think so! Thank you 🙏
Chef, is this stored in the refrigerator?
You can store it in the fridge or freezer 😊
Chef, can you please address cooking Garlic in Chili Oil, keeping it at room temperature or refrigerated and the risks of Botulism.
Yummmmyyy....iam surely gonna try this.... Just one question, can I use sesame seeds instead of peanuts, will it taste nice?.. Also, congratulations Jack...you rock as always.... Cheers from India...💕💕

I am seeing this everywhere. How is Chill oil consumed?
Peanuts in chili oil?
They add a nice toasted nutty flavour. They can also be left out if you prefer
This would go well with noodles
MMMMMM.......
StOCK GANG!!!!
You know it Han! STOCK GANG 👌👌😁
I'm so early. Can we get some good Aussie meat pie recipes?

Just can't do the peanut thing. Looks good though.
Chilie garlic oil
My sugar never dissolved, why is that?
I burned the garlic. Damn it!
I'm still watching at nearly a Million followers and have to say so glad you lost the pathetic Gloves 👏👏👏
I used the gloves at that time because I was working in commercial kitchens and my hands were in a very bad shape
