The Alligator-Gar, seams to be, from a time when the planet Terra and its original sibling moon, posthumously called: Theia; used to go together, around the youngster Sun; that used to be an Orange K type of star. And all that; around 77M years ago. Where, the metallic type of planetoid, called Theia, generated a constant high geological and climacteric processing; onto ancient also metallic type, planet Terra.
Which meant, that: only the most versatile animal species, that were already above 1m long;; managed to survive and endure: some of the ancient higher frequency earthquakes, volcanos, and quick floods; out of a certain monsoon or tsunami.
And that's, how that Alligator-Gar, just recently, managed to survive, from being hooked temporarily out of the water; for the scientific-natural-study and Ytb entertainment purpose; as well.
Plus, the equivalent land animal to the Alligator-Gar; is probably a medium-sized Spinosaurus.
