Looking forward to the plugin for Serato DJ now, this is absolutely awesome and being able to send this over the network is great news as like to run Quickshow on a different machine. Also loving the support for up to 40k scanners as well, will now be able to get the best out of my projectors scanners. Thank you Pangolin I'm now eagerly awaiting release of Quickshow 3.0.
This is a big evolution I have always wanted, but I wonder if it would be possible to make a sync show in the quickshow timeline over a track and when I play this track on Virtual Dj (actually on TRAKTOR), a plug in recognizes it and send the signal do QuickShow, loading on it the correspondent pre made show, responding to pitch/tempo changes, loops, hot cues, and all the other commands on traktor. For single Dj's who make their own shows, without somebody to control the lights THIS WOULD BE A PERFECT SOLUTION! Controlling all your lights, synced on a pre made show for each track, while you play live a real set, not a pre recorded one (what you already can do on quickshow timeline). This could even change the way djs play at clubs, bringing a new concept on audio and visual effect. A Dj could use the amazing laser magical properties to take his crowd on a trip with his music. Come on this would be amazing! Also a full support plug and play on Akai APC 40 mk2 would be great.
I had the opportunity to test with a beta version of Quickshow with the beta VirtualDJ plugin. This is so easy. Just activate the plugin and you're ready to go! You don't have to do any configuration or whatever. I really can't wait to upgrade to version 3.0 and make my laser waves follow the music without any programming!
Way to go Bill, congratulations on Pangolins 30th anniversary!! QuickShow v3 is certainly looking the goods :) I'm hoping to do some master class vid's myself - covering one of the best features "Synthesized Cues". Will keep you posted
Finally had a play with this, absolutely excellent as always from Pangolin, nice to have the option to run my scanners at 40k as well. I know you are hoping to bring the beat sync stuff to Serato as well, I'm not sure if this helps you or not but the latest beta version of Serato DJ 1.9.3 supports Ableton Link, this may be a way of getting beat sync to work with Serato.
the virtual dj plugin reminds me of my lsx experiments with sound to light spec2 function 4 years ago ( v=koBeCZjafZY :) can the plugin take also external sound input? e.g. not playing music on the laptop but taken via audio in jack?
+spdzodzo In fact QuickShow itself also has "sound to light" function since 2009, in the form of our Virtual Laser Jockey. Options are selectable by right-clicking the VLJ button in QuickShow. Nevertheless, sure you can direct live audio into a "deck" in VDJ and then have that flow through to QuickShow. Everything you see here (and more) is also available in BEYOND...
+fred sfmevent Great question and thanks for the enthusiasm!! We too are excited about the release, but shortly after this we started working on yet another exciting feature. Really amazing stuff actually!!! So we have delayed the release of 3.0 a bit longer while we work in this new technology. However, we'll be happy to send a pre-release version to anyone who writes directly to us and asks.
It has built-in and plug-and-play support for the APC Mini only. It may be possible to get other consoles to work, since QuickShow allows you to "train" how the MIDI works, but this is limited, and things that require what's called "System Exclusive Messages" (for example flashing the buttons) can't be done with QuickShow, and require our more advanced software BEYOND.
If you mean Serato, I'm afraid we don't have any updates. However, if you know of a Serato developer please send them our way. I do believe we could get it working pretty quickly if we had a developer with decent experience...
Hello, can you help me, i have QS 3.0 and a APC mini, i can access the quick FX tab by holding the shift button down, BUT, i can only use the first 7 of the FX... how do i get access to 8-12.
Great question and we appreciate you asking! The APC Mini only has a limited number of buttons. As such, it only allows you to access a limited number of QuickFX. I'm sorry to say that this is one of the limitations of this small and inexpensive console...
Thank you for your reply, i realize for the price of this little controller it was asking too much from it.. but hey... Love your software, the perfect companion for my laser...
You will need to be using QuickShow 3.0 in order for APC Mini to function properly. You can learn more about QuickShow 3.0 on our forum here: pangolin.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2965
you said you can trigger the cues, can you trigger the pages from the APC as well.?? Do you have any plans for a plugin to use with Traktor Pro.? Thanks in advance.
Yes indeed, the APC Mini allows you to change pages and a whole lot of other things. We have another video on our UA-cam channel that covers QuickShow 3.0 in greater detail, as well as the Pangolin Cloud.
Quite possibly... QuickShow supports a MIDI input which may be used as a link, and also supports separate audio input. However, we do not yet have a plugin for Resolume, and so any linking would need to be done separately.

The number of QFX that you can access is indeed limited by the number of buttons on the APC Mini.
i have the latest QS 2.8 and i recently bought a apc mini but the pads stay turned of and its mapped right. What do i do?

+Pangolin Laser Systems But when is QS 3.0 gonna release??
Very soon but on some level it doesn't matter. Virtually anybody can take advantage of the BETA and thus, receive 3.0 now.
+Pangolin Laser Systems Woah, thank you
any news on a release date?
If you go to our forum you will find out how to obtain a pre-release, including the new Cloud feature not even discussed in this video.
Hi.
Is there any pangolin software for mac available
Hehe. All of it! Pangolin exclusively uses Mac in our office!
