This is one of the first commanders I ever built from scratch. My buddies could figure how to make the deck work, so I was on my own. Before I was trying to stop combat but with this it is working better than ever! Thank you so much!
I just watched the part where you mention Curse of Misfortunes but didn't mention it's often best to enchant YOURSELF with it, because you can stack the triggers so Curse of Misfortunes tutors up a Curse for you attached to you, then Lynde's trigger lets you attach that Curse to an opponent and draw 2 cards. That's usually way better than just attaching Misfortunes to an opponent, unless you just can't keep Lynde alive so you can't reattach the Curses. But that's kinda what Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves, and counter spells and reanimating spells are for lol
That is true enough - Curse of misfortunes can be a good way to get card advantage when equipped to yourself, but like you mentioned - its a bit too scary to get it stuck on yourself if our opponents are able to deal with Lynde (and this build lacks protection to keep her alive). Still - it is a valid option if we need that card advantage. Good point!
Not sure if it was mentioned already but you wouldn't be able to Draw 5 with Curse of Obsession if you intend to pawn it off with Lynde (16:39). It triggers during the draw step, which would happen after your chance to give it away. You can keep it and give something else away for the draw 5 but you'd need a sac outlet to get rid of Obsession before it makes you discard your hand.
It was not and good catch! You are indeed correct, with Curse of Obsession procing on the draw phase and Lynde procing on Upkeep it wouldn't work. Thank my bad. It can still work as a draw option if we're already top decking or low on cards, or in the event we can blow it up before our end step. Thanks for pointing that out!
Wow you read my mind, I have been holding cards for this deck and want to mix in the goad stuff too. Having a blast with the Piru deck. Voted for ludevic he seems like can be a fun cmdr.
No plans as of yet - have my hands full with keeping up with the weekly releases ATM - but maybe further down the line older commander can be revisited.
Hey Grazzet, remember The Deck of Many Things card I tried to brew with last week? I think I found it a home... with this Lynde deck! I was leaning heavily towards Grixis colors and although there's not so much support interaction from Lynde as commander for TDMT, almost half the deck has things to help get the -Deck- rolling. Clone effects, Curse of Obsession, a Lithoform Engine upgrade option, plus TDMT's 20 result is thematically connected with curses. If anything, I found out through playtesting that card that it's very great at card draw/recursion if the d20 doesn't hit 20.
True, but it was included in the upgrades more to get more curse triggers on our opponents, though it can be cast on ourselves if we really need it. But I suppose Sphinx of the Second Sun could be included if we want more upkeep steps for ourselves in that case.
NYEHEHE! This deck will definitely be a treat during testing, and not just because of the Doofenschmirtz impression I will be constantly making. For real though, this build of yours might be my favourite so far, since Grixis Pillowfort is such a simple yet brilliant idea. There's just one pet peeve of mine that is bothering me - showcase section. What would a player's turn look like if you attached all curses in your deck to them? How screwed will they be? Seeing that would have been glorious, but I digress. Amazing video regardless! My vote goes for Ludevic, Monster Masher Incarnate. I want to see how horrid of an abomination you can create. Day 80 of waiting for Grazzet's face reveal. If you were a black-bordered Legendary Creature, what would your effects be? Cause at this point we might get a blackbordered GrazzetMTG Secret Lair, given what is happening with the Stranger Things one.
Glad you enjoyed them build! Personally, I like to stay away from the Select Layer stuff, but it would be interesting if the had a secret layer featuring community figures. But folks like Mitch, Josh, Jimmy, and the Prof. all have dibbs way before me. Regarding abilities, maybe an ability focused around legends specifically could be fun - cost reduction or draw is always good but maybe something more interesting that value related could also work. Hard to say really.
Yeaaaah! this is awesome! curse and goad! exactly what I wanted! what kinda power lvl would you rate this deck ? gonna start building it now! keep up the nice videos!
Was this a fun one to pilot during testing? Because it looks like it could've been lol thanks for another cool build bro hope you're having a good spoopy month
Yep, it was fun for me at least, a bit less so for my opponents. Months going good and thier will be no shortage of spooks with this set and Crimson Vow next month brining a new wave of commander with it (hopefully) - we may have to extend Halloween into the winter!
Would you recommend swapping out one of the creatures with Ghen? Feels like Ghen and Lynde work exceptionally well together, and either of them can serve as the commander while the other remains as a regular creature.
Sadly while Ghen would make a good addition, because he's in White we would be unable to add him to the 99. Still, we does make for a interesting curse themed deck for Mardu (as white has some pretty nasty curses).
@@GrazzetMTG Oh geez, I totally overlooked the color difference in the cmc /facepalm Thank you for saving me from potential future embarrassment on that one, lol. Keep up the great content, good sir! You've earned yerself a new sub :D
Yeah - removal had to be at a premium and counter spells just didn't make the cut in this build. But if you feel like cutting some of the existing removal to add them, feel free to do so.
Its all from Dark Fantasy Studio - I obtained a royalty free set of music from them through a humble bundle and have been using it in my video ever since.
Interesting suggestion! It would certainly let us redeploy all our curses immediately, but it also gets rid of our commander and our lands along with everything else - so I would consider it far to niche to be used effectively in this build.
I'm still not seeing a win condition (duh?). Also, I love your quickfire presentation style, but please slow down when it comes to quite complex rules interactions. I must have repeated that section 5 times.

Another great upload! I really appreciate your pacing in these videos.
Glad you enjoying the build! I've been working on the pacing a bit so its good to get some positive feedback!
Excellent content, well done!!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Great minds think alike! Thanks for voting and glad to hear that you're enjoying the Piru build! And don't think I missed your pun.
Would you ever do a build from past sets? I’d love to see a Kokusho build

Hmm, I would not have thought of that. Goes to show that there are multiple ways to get a card to work, it all depends on the persons creativity.
Paradox Haze could be good to include to double up on that upkeep trigger of our commander. ;)

another very interesting deck-tech ! love the sly memes included haha
Glad you enjoyed the build and my dry wit.
Loved the video!!

Love your channel. Keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoy my work and thanks for the support!
I was curious about this commander and this playstyle I like, Goading my friends while cusing them!
Then I image you would also like to that while playing this deck! 😂
Congrats on cracking 1600!
No, thank you for all the support!
Forced Combat AND Curses? Now we're talking. Great deck!
Glad you enjoyed it!
LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!
Hope you enjoyed the build!

Glad you enjoyed the build! Most of my builds fall around power level 4 - 5, which I would say would be a fair assessment of this build as well.
@@GrazzetMTG btw the buy me a coffee link is not working, giving a 404 error :(
@@mokutonwow5693 Going to have to check with their support later this week. Thanks for letting me know!
@@GrazzetMTG yeah wanted to donate some but sadly it did not work! let me know when its up again!
Our opponents would’ve gotten away with it , if it wasn’t for our meddling commander and our draw too.
Curses! Foiled again!
Going to use this as my base and upgrade it a bit with some spicey things I have! My play group wont like this hahaha

I noticed a lack of counterspells in this deck. Is it because you want to get as many curses asap?
