I’m not even sure the harness was used with JCVD, appears it might only be for this remake. Difficult to hear though, since they speak in German over the English conversation between the team from Volvo and the team from RTL. Might be that they say it was used in both instances
I'm pretty sure in the original JCVD did bend forward for a little while and relied on the harness. But it's quite understandable - the trucks are still moving and shaking.

If you watch the video of making the original you can see that JCVD had some serious worries at first as they didn't tell him about the safety procedures. This is genius. I think this commercial touches, relates or just amazes anyone watching it. I don't care for either trucks or Van Damme, but this is my favorite commercial all-times. It's more than about the product, the message from Van Damme is very inspiring and beautiful which works for both himself and the trucks. Love that track to that beautifully trick during the sunrise. Everything is simply awesome.

Die Trucks sind andere als im Originalvideo! Im Original war es eine zweiachsige Zugmaschine und ein dreiachsiger Sattelauflieger! In diesem Video hatte das gesamte Gefährt nur drei Achsen! Und keinen Drehpunkt wie ein Sattelzug! So ein Truck wie hier ist leicht rückwärts zu fahren. Bei einem Auflieger ziemlich unmöglich!
Falsch es ist möglich sieht mann ja aber mann richtig gut fahren kann und deswegen hat sich ja nur der gliederzug verändert weil beim sattel wäre das viel viel schwieriger gewesen als beim glieder deswegen ist der sattel nur auf einer line gefahren es wäre unmöglich bei einnem gliederzuganhänger mit 2 lenk achsen und kein tandem zu fahren, aber es ist möglich das zu schaffen. Achso und volvo kann auch mit einen sattelzug so Präzise rückwärts fahren volvo ist ein und bleibt ein geiles,Schönes und hammer Fahrzeug hab dagegn nix einzuwenden weiter so Volvo.

Beim Video mit Van Damme musste ja alles geplant werden, und RTL macht es nur nach. Also man Plant da ja nichts mehr, die Vorgaben sind ja schon da und die Experten die beim Van Damme Video dabei waren wissen ja wie sie da vorgehen da sie ja schon beim Van Damme Video mitgewirkt haben. Es wurde ein Sattelschlepper benutzt und ein 3 Achser aber im Versuch sind es zwei 3 Achser. Und ein Sattelschlepper ist sehr sehr schwer rückwärts zu fahren ohne das der Hänger nach links oder rechts geht.

aber fahr mal n Drehschemel rückwärts dann weißt du wie einfach n Sattel ist :D
