      Hey, unhearted55! Thank you for watching! I got you! I had myself also some of those issues especially streaming, however, with Avermedia I don't have it anymore, but Avermedia doesn't have a nice program like 4k utility to save all your recordings if you use a lot. I don't use so for me was good tho.

      @@unhearted55Oh yea, the stutter is still there. I ordered a 4k x day one and have been trying to figure it out since i got it. I've been awake for the last 3 days trying to figure it out non-stop before I send that piece of junk back. I had the hd60 X briefly right before that and mine had the same problems as well. It just so happened the 4K x was coming out a week later so I returned it and waited for the 4K X only to to be disappointed. Seriously I've been awake for 3 days straight doing everything and anything to make the stutter go away. I thought I had it solved and determine the cable it came with was bad because I used a USB c to USB a 10 gb cable and it fixed it but it won't stay connected with that cable. It no longer stutters with that cable but won't stay connected. So I have no idea how to fix that nonsense so it's getting sent back. I probably won't be buying another elgato product. You can look on my channel to see the stutter on my videos. All of them were captured with the 4k x.

    I've had an HD60X since the end of 2022 (to replace the old HD60 that I was using because my footage was getting seriously messed up while recording), and it worked with my laptop just fine. Ten months ago (March 2024), I bought a desktop, and there are sporadic frame drops when recording with Elgato's 4K Capture Utility. I tried to remedy the problem with different cables, using a different port, etc. Nothing worked, except using OBS instead of using 4K Capture Utility, which is more of a short-term solution. In my opinion, OBS audio monitoring is a hot pile of garbage, because while you're recording, there might be no latency, and then there might be an increasing amount of latency as you go on. Not a good look. Other than that, OBS works exactly the way it should. Any thoughts?

    • @RodiBroGamer
      @RodiBroGamer  5 днів тому

      @@FanaticGuide Thank you for watching! So I had also the HD 60x from elgato but I was never a heavy user on the 4K utility since I was using OBS for everything. I don’t usually record game play specially long periods but for everything I do while recording my UA-cam videos using the 4K can link for my camera and PC and some game footage I have not had any problems but since I got the Avermedia 2.1 capture card I still have no issues . I usually record at 1080p60. What is the resolution output while recording? And what resolution are you recording from?

    • @FanaticGuide
      @FanaticGuide 5 днів тому

      The resolution output while recording is 1080p60 HDR (I turn off HDR when recording games that don’t support it), and-if this if what you were asking about-I have two monitors (excluding my laptop), one of which is 4K HDR, the other of which is 1080p SDR. Because I have the one HDR screen, I can plug in the HDMI output for the consoles (specifically my PS5 and Xbox Series X), and switch the input so it displays that console. It also allows the consoles to see the resolution, refresh rate, etc. of the monitor, and will adapt to that.

    • @RodiBroGamer
      @RodiBroGamer  5 днів тому

      @ ok so you are recording 4K HDR to 1080p60 right? If so have you try to record at 40k60 to see if you have any issues while downscaling ? In my case I do play in 1440p and record everything in 1080p and sometimes I need to tweak things on OBS but is fine for me .but again I don’t record gameplay a lot only while stream for a 30s clip . Are you doing any passthrough with the capture card or just capturing normally

    • @FanaticGuide
      @FanaticGuide 5 днів тому

      @ the HD60X only allows for 4K60 passthrough, so the highest I could go at 4K resolution would be at 30fps, and because of that I record at 1080p60 HDR when using the capture card (HDR is, of course, dependent on whether the game supports it). However, I looked through my past recordings (before I started using OBS regularly), the HDR recordings were the ones that had the frame drops and the SDR recordings had none of those problems. When I went through those clips, a lot of questions began floating around in my head, mainly pertaining to the capture card, because when I screen record 4K HDR video using OBS (separate from the capture card), this does not happen 95% of the time (the other 5% of the time was me recording Horizon Forbidden West and trying to see what graphics settings would work better with what I was trying to do). I typically don’t do any passthrough, something to think about.

    • @RodiBroGamer
      @RodiBroGamer  4 дні тому +1

      @ ok so look like can be the implementation of the HDR on the HD60X. I don’t have that card anymore otherwise I would try to test it out to see if I got any wierd things. Best thing to do is probably check with Elgato community to search if anybody have same issue and maybe a fix for that. It also could be that the new Elgato capture card had a HDR better implementation or upgrade that could solve this issue.

    Hey RodiBroGamer.

    I'm new to recording and streaming. Which of the two capture cards do you recommend for recording PS5 games when the PS5 is connected to a 65" TV? Unfortunately, I can't find anything about it online or what settings are needed. ^^'

    • @RodiBroGamer
      @RodiBroGamer  9 місяців тому +2

      Hey HP_gamenoob! Thank you for watching! I would recommend the elgato 4K X. The reason is that you can use the 4K utility to record your games from ps5 on the 4K utility software and in there is super organize to keep and manage your recording videos. The avermedia doesn’t have that on the software so since both cards are great the elgato will be better. Also to record your games , when you add the capture card between the PS5 to the TV use the pass through meaning connect the HDMI from ps5 to HDMI in on capture card the run another HDMI 2.1 cable to your tv. The Usbc cable from capture card will go to your pc to send the videos. Also when you connect the USBC cable that come with elgato to your PC make sure you are connecting to a USBC Port 3.2 gen 2 because if is not you will be limited in the quality. For more info look on elgato 4K X website as well ok? Hope I could help you with some info . Let me know if I can help you further 😁👍🏻

    Hello, do you know if having this capture cards will solve problem with obs stutter. I just have one pc with RTX 4090 where i play and record and 4k tv with 120hz and vrr but my games runs at 4K 90-100fps so when i record videos on obs at 60 fps it makes video stuttering i guess because of out of sync frames, but when i cap my games to 60fps I don't have video stutter anymore... I heard its VRR problem with obs...I want smooth video at 60 fps and want to play on 120 fps.
    What should i do? How you manage to record 120 fps games without stutter? Thanks a lot in advance!

      Hey Tebroni! Thank you for watching! For what I understand your setup is a single PC correct? So if you are having problems as a single pc those cards won’t help your setup or issue. I’m having recently some issue related to that but not as bad sometimes with the avermedia card while playing on the PS5 but not as bad. I believe OBS is having some of this issues . Did you try to change your Frame rate to 120 on OBS video settings for output?

      @@tebroni187 So yes you can have a 1080p monitor on streaming Pc no problem to stream in 4K. On OBS only think you do is have your CANVAS resolution 1080p and when sending to UA-cam ( if that’s where you stream ) you can send in 4K resolution. UA-cam will upscale from your 1080p meaning you don’t need a super powerful GPU on the streaming pc side. I think a RTX2070 GPU or newer will be fine . Only thing you need to check is your internet speed for uploading ( not downloading) to send a good bitrate for 4K streaming.

      @RodiBroGamer No I think you were actually right. I just looked at the AverMedia documentation (Cant paste the link) and it also states that HDR Capture only works with up to 4K30. I think it's a bandwidth issue with USB 3 and we need to wait until USB 4 for external 4K60 HDR. Until then, only PCIe capture cards like the Elgato 4K Pro will be able to capture in 4K60 HDR.
