Great video! I really appreciate that you talked through why you kept what you kept and why you are purging others...very helpful . So glad to see so many new videos from you again recently 🥰🥰🥰
Since March there have been so many new videos!! I am doing 3/week while we still have Confessional videos. For the Summer it will be 1/week. Then September will probably be 2/week. Then October I am probably doing another big event.
We organize the same way. My categories are different - I have people, shapes (circles), shapes (squares), other shapes, collage/multiple, nature, and other (including words). I love the scrapbook binders - I have one for 12x12 and another for 6x6. I use the 6x6 pockets in a 12x12 binder for my 6x6 stencils. I use black paper as a background so I can see them better. You've reminded me that I have SO MANY stencils to dig out and use. :)
I have just did this myself, but used regular binders which doesn't fit the 12 by 12"s, I will get a scrapbook binder for that. Much easier to find what your looking for!
Just love your plastic doilies. I have been hunting the thrift stores for them, but have only found one so far. Would you believe that I asked a young female employee where they would have doilies and she didn't know what a doily was? Laughed to myself. Showed my age on that question! 😊
Hi, Christine. Thanks for another video showing your much loved stencils... you kept and/or added more stencils since your de-stash video - I’m glad because the amount you actually use your stencils warrants a large collection. Me... I apparently LOVE stencils or at least love to collect stencils. I definitely need to use my stencils more often although my anal mind needs to clean my stencils asap after use but I’ve accepted some inks stain them. LOL I’ve been using the 6x8 albums for a while now - one has TCW 6x6, one for Other 6x6, one for 4x6 & 5x7’s (mostly Dylusions); my 9x12’s (mostly Dylusions and Joggles), 8x8’s, and 6x8’s are still in their packaging in a ‘magazine’ holder - I cut the top edge of the package so they easily slide in & out. I don’t have very many 12x12’s and so they don’t have a designated space at present so I currently have them sitting on top of my 12x12 gel plate package. I tend to store stuff by brand... but... I’m liking the idea you shared about having categories so I’ll check it out. As I’m writing this I’m thinking there are a few stencils that I go to quite often so I’m considering pulling them out and grouping them together somehow or maybe keep those in the front of the albums. Anyway... you’ve given me much to think about. Thanks for sharing your time and energy creating videos. Have a great day! 🙂
I'm the kind of person where I have to see it to remember I have it/use it. I put my 6x6 stencils into a Taylored expressions stencil stand/holder, but alas, I ran out of room (coughcough). Kinda waiting for their holder to come back in stock so I can keep organizing. :D
Cool to see how you've organised your stencils. :) I had all of mine in a 12x12 album that had different sized pocket pages in it (from project life I think) as well as the large 12 inch ones. I found all the flipping kind of overhwelmed me, plus I didn't have that many 12x12 stencils. I have a lot of StencilGirl 9x12s, so I put them in 9x13 job ticket holders that have a ring at the top centre, and have a couple of bundles of those on large binder rings. I've got my 6x6s in 7" sleeves, and 4x4s in 5" sleeves. Flipping through them sorted by what size sleeve they fit in works well for me and the way my brain processes design, but it would probably drive other folks up the wall. :)
I do find the big album big and heavy. Currently I am using more of my smaller stencils - they are much easier to handle. But the binders do keep them better organized and they don't get caught together.
This is almost exactly how I store my stencils, but I have small and large in the same 12” x 12” binder and I used black paper instead of white because I can see the design better against black. The only exception is my Tim Holtz. Those I have on a large key ring because they have that convenient hole at the top.

The 2nd stencil you got rid of (round floral) was SO beautiful! I hope you gave them away/sold them rather than threw them away!
I still have it but will probably sell it soon.
I am getting started right now! Thanks.

Thx for sharing your organization and storing techniques for stencils! Great ideas!! :-)

I like the idea of putting the 6x6 stencils into a container to flip through. I hate putting them away.
Such a great idea! Thank you! 👍🏻
Perfect idea! Thank you, that’s how I’m going to be organise mine now! 👍
I just recently put all my stencils back into albums and it's so much easier to see what you want to use
Great motivation, must do mine now although haven't as many.
Christine, THANK YOU!

Happy you found a way that works for you. I will probably sort the same way. And maybe find some categories in their binder. 😊
Great idea!
I would love to know where you got the Paris Stencil
Is it this one? www.scrapbook.com/store/cf-tcw626s.html?t12-13=the+crafters+workshop
Yes thank you so very much.
Have you any ideas with the clear stamp words would you do the same?
I didn't make a stamp storage video, but next Saturday is my Craft Room video and I show you in that video how I stored my stamps.
You like circles!
Doesn't everyone!!
Are you sales the stencil you didn’t want no mire
I haven't yet. I will probably sell stuff soon.
I hate purging...
