The Tremors TV show was criminally underappreciated. Christopher Loyd is a lot of fun to see in the Tremors universe. Anyways Michael seems like such an all around class act. Thanks for doing this Q & A!
@@darkerdaemon7794 there are only 13 episodes but they are 45 minutes at least. It got screwed over as the sci Fi channel aired the episodes out of order and it got cancelled halfway through the first season.
The TV show is definitely the dark horse of the franchise! Really enjoyed it, and thought it captured the tone while expanding the mythology. Tyler Reed was also one of the best co-lead characters, and did admirably during the Burt-less tail end of the show. It was a treat to discover and boost my spirits after the end of Shrieker Island.

Not once have I failed to smile whenever this man does something related Tremors. He is what makes it what it is and carried the series. Admittedly the past 3 movies were not great (that has everything to do with Universal cutting out Stampede Entertainment and the original writers of the series) but I came back every time for Burt. Always a character we will never grow tired of. Always a stellar performance.
The movies aren't necessarily done. Sure, Burt my have been eaten, but it's not the first time. Alternatively can anyone else outside of Nick Fury who is more likely to fake his death?

Yeah that would be great, Kevin Bacon was trying to do a soft reboot of tremors that I guess would be set after the first movie. It got declined for production, but the trailer looked pretty good.
They did. Tremors III: Back to Perfection was intended to be the wrapping up of the trilogy. This is the main reason Tremors IV was a western prequel, to preserve the ending that III gave. But if you wanted more, Tremors: The Series continued after the events of III.

@@brandonangstman I always pictured the ending being that El Blanco was dying from old age, and Burt finds him on the surface with labored breathing and he just sits with him until he dies and then he has a moment of lamentation before the final scene shows him moving on with his life for...some reason.

Maybe they could get Reba to return as his mourning ex who's just found out about his death. Oh and his son keeps hallucinating Burt is there talking to him! ( that way Burt can still kinda appear and steal the spotlight.)
Every time I hear the name 'Burt Gummer' I chuckle and smile. A perfectly styled character for the work, and brought to life by a mild mannered TV dad. Also, he's really the only reason to watch most of the sequels.
When you can go word for word for the first 3 movies, I watched them over and over and over again day and night as a kid growing up. Acted like I was killing graboids and all of it! Thanks for all the great movies!

#1 is my favorite and not just my favorite Tremors movie, but my favorite movie of all time. I can watch it over and over and over again and I never get tired of it.
i feel like they could make another sequel. wipe the slate clean, make a direct sequel to the original film and ignore the other films, bring back the original cast and set it 31 years after the first film. it worked for Halloween it can definitely work for tremors. most importantly Michael would HAVE to be back. its not tremors without him. he's always given the franchise 110 percent and it wouldn't still be around without him.

My mother and I watch the Tremors films quite often. It is usually our "family get together" movie selection during the holidays. Gross is definitely right when he says it is a family film. The most recent film, i will not lie, had me in tears. Burt really did do what he could with what he had. Thanks for all the happy memories and many more to come with this franchise Mr. Gross.

While the subsequent movies were not as good as the original, Michael elevated all of them and entertained me without fail. Always wished that Hollywood would have used him a lot more in diverse major projects, but alas to no avail.

From the height of Gummer in T2: "Two pounds of C4," a rock plinks his helmet "is a bit excessive." Though I think the scene in his rec-room also more than qualifies. To the low of his walking way, covered in Graboid blood & entrails after having to get cut out in T3. Probably the 2 extremes.

Burt was the reason I kept up with the series. Michael's acting made the series from just a B movie world to a A+ franchise.

One of the greatest film franchises and one of the best actors I've ever seen, and one of my favorite characters. I look forward to the future of Tremors!
