I may not understand the lyrics, but this song was special to me when I was a kid watching Macross for the first time. Nice to finally see the original artist perform this song. Up till now, I've only heard it when I re-watch the movie.

such a nice song even if its 30 years old as of last year in 2014, she was the first seyu from an anime to also be the voice on the english dub when they did a release of the origional macross, she is much older now though, I dont understand much of what she is singing I know a few japanese words but its not like if it were in spanish, or maybe one of the romantic langanges that have many cognates to english, or other european languages, still it sounds soo nice kind of happy, and the muffled kind of qualty remindes me of the origional sailor moon theme music for intro and ending, which takes me back to when I saw the uncut on dvd for the first time 10 years ago, and makes me sad I did not see it when it first came out, and makes me sad not ever knowing or being there, like when I would look in an old yearbook from a local highschool or newspapers of events I wish I could have been there to see it first hand, even if it was during my lifetime, like when I used to get programs from the races I would go to and they would have pics from several weeks ago in a place not too far away or near by in the next state, seeing things happen first hand, but that is just how my psychy workes, been that way since I was very young, should not matter to me much, but my wonderment does not cess to be, or those fragments of memories at christmas from childhood that I used to know so well know now I struggle to remember even if I see photos or video, and I am only 34, or the weird feelings I had that I could not explain backthen like my ears kind of hearing noise or rinnging, and feeling kind of lightheaded like this one time we did christmas cookies, and I remember looking out the kitchen window and seeing the pink sky of winter or so and the weird emotions and puzzlement to me at the time after doing that walking into the livingroom and seeing the cheap little village we used to put up that was plastic and had see though figurines on a village scene as well as some on a kind of frozen lake of molded plastic with a mirror background representing ice for the figures to skate on, its not the nice detailed ceramic village we have now but dont use since mom passed away, takes too much time to set up on the shelf and too many buildings we collected over the years, heck we used to deco for christmas heavy and seemed like more people did even if it was just a few cheap decorations, seems less do it now then the past, we used to string lights and put up cutouts up, and had iccicle lights as dangerous as they were for sparking up and overheating in the splice they had, and we would have green and red lightbulbs in the porchlights, and deco all the oramental trees out front, now we jsut have a wreath and friends of my dad usually put out something doing with flamingos, or palmtrees due to the running gag that everyyear my dad would end up with some sort of representation of a pink flamingo from his family at the white elepant gift exchange, ok I know I got off on a tangent but the music remindes me of what it was like in a differant time if I were seeing it in its origional showing, and wondering about it as I would have on learning about it.

I met Mari IIjima once at one of the original AnimeCon/Expos in the early 1990s in California. I told her that I loved her as Minmay and her songs. She immediately said "I'm not Minmay" and went on a rant about how she didn't like only being known as Minmay. I just said "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you" and walked away. It was weird to meet someone that you respect and love, in a way, but to be treated like crap. I still care, but I would never want to meet her again.

Yes, she is hellbent on "going her own unique way," so to speak, and vehemently tries to distance herself from Minmay's songs (even though she still attends animecons and sings them; they bring money, after all). What she seems to not get is that many very talented musicians and producers worked together with her voice to create the time-withstanding quality songs everybody loves so much; after she started self-producing her albums, her songs simply pale in comparison because she refuses to let any collaborating musicians have any say into the music whatsoever-plus she produces her music without another producers' input. I remember a Facebook post of hers ranting about it, how it was "her" music, and that she wanted it to be "pure," so it was a process that only she could do. It's just sad at this point.

マクロスの特番だから仕方なかったんだろうけど、オリジナルの吉田美奈子アレンジバージョンではなくて、マクロスバージョンであり、飯島さん個人のテイストとはかけはなれている衣装と極めつけは最後のライン。このあとどれ程足を引っ張られるか全く想像出来てなく、メチャクチャ笑顔で歌っているのが見ていてより悲しくなってくる。
飯島さんはアップテンポでデモ製作をしていたのを吉田さんの意向もありアルバムのカラーに合わせてスローにしたようですね 劇場版マクロス公開直前のライブでの この曲を披露する前のMCでは"私はこの夏 この曲で爆発します！"と言っていたり 当時の飯島さんにとっては福音であり その後は呪いでもあるマクロスだったようですが願わくば そういう事情とは離れた所で新世代に純粋にこの曲が評価され聞かれていくことを望みますね いきなり失礼しました

Actually, she the second Japanese seiyuu to reprise a role in the English dub of the same anime. The first one was Miyuki Sawashiro.

私もすきで昔はファンクラブに入っていました、マクロスも好きでしたし、彼女の歌もすきでした。単純に歌は今でも好きです。
+haro yamada 今みたいにアニメの仕事していても、アニメのイメージがついて回って邪魔になるなんて事が無いのなら良いだろうけど、彼女の場合は実際に邪魔になったんだから仕方ない。歌バサラの福山みたいに、キャラに引きずられずに済む方が珍しいんだからさ。
高校ころにイタリア語で『愛覚えていますか』と言うアニメの映画を見ました。その時にアニメが好きだっている人は現在にアニメの重要さと役者の映画の重要さは同じくらい成ろうと信じました。このアニメの筋は非常に真面目です。つまりアニメの話しは大人もためです。アニメが好きだっている人はこのアニメの映画後で前より色々な会社は『愛覚えていますか』と言うアニメの映画のような映画をもっと多い生産すると信じました。つまりその時から多分このアニメの映画の種類を増やします。そして多分皆のヨーロッパの大人も今時々アニメの映画を見ると思いました。飯島真理のような上手な歌集はアニメの映画の間も歌うので大人はアニメの映画を見始めると思いました。このアニメの後で飯島真理のせいです。残念ながらこの出来事は起こりませんでした。今この歌を偲びます。飯島真理に話したいでしょう。嬉しいなるでしょう。私の日本語をすみません。イタリア人です。前に日本へ行ったことはありません。

確か日本青年館が初のコンサートだったと思う。音源も出たけど確かにあれは酷かった。でも、それ以外のテレビとかスタジオでのライブなんかだときちんと歌えているんだよね。
あの時は激しい動きと歌唱のバランスが取れてなかっただけなんだと思う。特に彼女は聴かせどころでファルセットを多様するスタイルだしね。
