    Sometimes it just comes down to genetics. I've always been told I had a pleasant sounding singing voice and a unique tone for a male, pretty similar to Michael Jackson and Adam Lambert. However I tried and tried, never giving up, I practiced every day for hours, wasted thousands of dollars and spent 10+ years trying to become a professional singer, but doing stuff like healty belting or singing relatively loud in mixed voice or expanding my range always felt impossible .
    It turns out I was born with sulcus vocalis (one vocal fold is way smaller than the other) and congenital vocal fold scarring. My speaking voice sounds "normal" to regular people, but it's not efficient.And many doctors have told me what no vocal teacher had the guts or integrity to say "Your voice isn't strong enough to handle singing for more than a few minutes a day, and they aren't strong enough to handle the pressure required for belting or even shouting"
    So if you can afford it, try going to a good ENT doctor who specializes in the larynx and voice production, get an stroboscopy or any other good procedure so that they can inspect your vocal folds, it will save some of you, time, money and frustration.

    Oh yeah, it's definitely helping allot.
    I remember how I was using a lot of air for singing, and I was so loud and got horsey after 2 hours and so on.
    Now I use just as much air as I need to get the sound, I learned about resonance about the position of the mouth and how it feels to sing with open throat and with my own voice.About different styles and much more than that .
    The results: I sing way more beautifully 😍, I don't get horsy anymore and have allot of funn doing it.
    All this because of smart training and being focused on learning.
    Thank you so much for all your beautiful shared teachings 🙏❤️!
    I wish you all the best, Victoria 😊.

    I have an amazing voice teacher and I am in training to sing in an advanced choir. Choral singing is very hard and that requires a vocalist to be trained on both sight singing/music theory as well as vocal technique. In addition, in my situation, I also need to know how to correctly pronounce Latin and Spanish words when I sing. It's quiet a heavy load for what I want to do with regard to singing. That's my journey but your journey may be to sing better at a karaoke or some other event. My vocal teacher also goes for voice training because she performs on a professional level and she has to stay on top of her vocal technique. You never stop learning and growing when it comes to singing.
    These videos are a significant help along my journey in between my vocal lessons and they'll help you too.
    Vocal teachers give you that personal attention which really helps you with your technique. Let me put it another way. Ballroom dancing is another artistic activity. You can watch a video with a teacher instructing you on how to dance a foxtrot. The video will teach you basic moves, and you can learn some basic dance steps with your partner at a dance by practicing what is shown in the video. However, a ballroom dance teacher will give you that individual attention, which will really polish your technique. This will give your dance a much better technical look and style .
    With regard to singing, every healthy voice has its own unique beauty and to simply put it, how much are you willing to invest in your singing? There are no shortcuts in both the journey of singing and dancing when it comes to the requirements to sing or dance in a higher capacity. I heard that Luciano Pavarotti went to vocal training for 8 years. How do you think he became a professional opera singer? 😂
    I encourage everyone to fulfill your dreams. Sometimes it requires sacrifices. I had to take on a second job to pay for the teacher and give up going on vacation. It paid off because last September, I sang in an advanced choir at an event which sold 1,500 tickets and sold out. That was one of the greatest days of my life. To me, it made it all worth it. It was amazing !
    These videos are a great help. Victoria is right, any improvement is a positive step and towards your singing. You will get better!
    Thank you, Victoria for all that you do. ❤

    I don't know if I speak for most guy's but in reality the main thing that you need to practice is to smoothly transition into a mixed voice up to around a A4. That is about as high as you really need to go to sing most popular mainstream classic pop/rock/soul over the 1960's-90's.

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  3 місяці тому +1

      While a smooth transition is certainly important for all singers, there are many more things to learn. The 3 elements of singing - respiration, phonation, resonation. 😊

    Hello! I've been watching your videos for a few weeks now and I have to tell you that I've never made as much progress as I have during this time.
    Singing and teaching to sing are two different arts and it seems to me that you have mastered both.
    All right! With my love declaration over, here’s a question:
    I'm also practicing the clarinet, and after I finish practicing, I try to sing my voice just “explodes”! Thhere is a dramatic change that happens in every aspect, timbre, projection and especially in ease and good time (;
    Could you explain what happens, physically speaking?
    I understand that this is a private question and I will not be offended if you do not respond.
    Have a nice day!

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi Gabriel,
      You probably sing better after practicing clarinet because of the body engagement and breath support required to play it! Great observation! Next step: try to sing just as well without the clarinet! 😀. The amount of breath support needed depends on the sound you want.

    I have a question, I feel like I have improved a lot my singing, but when I go to sing live, either karaoke or at an event, my voice sounds totally different, especially in open areas, I can't hear myself, I avoid shouting but I still think I sound out of tune. I have a music card, and when I sing online with my headphones, I hear myself and sound better. the microphones are different in different places. Does that have anything to do with it? What advice would you give me? What can I do?

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  3 місяці тому +3

      We will sound different, depending on the acoustics of the room or if outside. Try to practice without your headphones. What you describe is fairly common for singers who only practice with headphones. Also, record yourself to see if you are really out of tune and how much. You can do this!

    Could someone please help me out. Well I am a 16 year old female and my range goes from A2 to c6. Now I divide my range into low, medium and high. When I sing low, i am restricted from singing medium or high, when I am singing medium, I am restricted from singing low or medium and when I sing high, I am restricted from singing low or medium. When I am singing low, my way of going to my higher part of my range, I do vocal exercises but then I am not able to go back to medium or low as easy. Can someone please tell me how I can switch from my lowest note A2 to my highest c6 without any problems?

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  3 місяці тому +1

      It’s impossible to give you advice without seeing and hearing you. It sounds like you need to work on your mix throughout your range. If you are pushing up too much vocal weight, squeezing, and letting your larynx jump up as you go higher, and then flipping into disconnected breathy voice, you can bet that your transitions will not be smooth. See my playlists on Mixed Voice and also the Vocal Bridge (Passaggio).
