Fury said "Coulson is down", not dead, and a medical team had arrived for him. He later lied to the Avengers team. For what happens to Phil afterwards, see season 1 of the "Agents of SHIELD" TV series.
I love that you took to the "Son of Coul" joke so gleefully. It's one of my favorite stupid little jokes that the MCU has had. Almost a throwaway line, but still hilarious.
Yeah it was quit similar to her earlier introductory scene, where she said the guy was giving her everything she wanted to know. Play to their ego letting them believe they are in complete control and let them spill all the info.
Yeah. Before the movie came out, I had friends joking about her and Barton being on the team ("bringing a gun to a god fight"), but once the movie showed her manipulating the God of Mischief, they got it.
So awesome, the cheap Black Canary rip-off that has to bite someone to get out of a fight? GTFOH. And they did exactly what he wanted, so she only played herself.
I think Coulsons last line there too often gets overlooked: "It's okay, boss. This was never gonna work if they didn't have something to..." Avenged, he was about to say avenged ... they are the avengers after all, it was never gonna work if they didn't have something to avenge.
This is the first MCU movie to be produced by Disney since they acquired Marvel Studios in 2009. It has the Paramount logo for labeling reasons but it's the first Disney produced and distributed MCU movie
Notice how every time Tony finds a fault in a suit, he corrects it in the next film. Whiplash messed up his suitcase armor with electricity. Now this suit absorbed the lightning from Thor.
I think it's interesting what you said about it being cool for Cap to meet Howard Stark's son. I feel like maybe Tony was always a little jealous of Steve because Steve probably spent much more time with Howard than Tony did.
The first Avengers movie is what really made MCU so popular. All the individual previous films did good, but this was the 2nd highest grossing movie of it's time, only after Cameron's Avatar. Seeing all these heroes coming together and forming this team is always so hype! Can't wait for part two! It only gets better from here all the way to End Game, especially Captain America movies! Hope you have a merry Christmas and that 2023 will be kinder to all of us than 2020's have been so far.
Not sure if you caught it. A lot of reactors miss "Loki's Play". It was Loki's scepter that was making everybody angry with each other. This tactic is especially useful on Banner, although Steve & Tony were mixing it up quite a bit as well.
Right. We saw earlier that it can affect minds, when Loki turned Barton and Selvig to his side. Just being in the same room it was making people angry and arguing with each other. If the heroes weren't united, he could beat each of them individually.
I've mentioned this before and I will say it again: I love how you're paying attention and enjoying these movies so much. I'd rather not see them fight one another but at the same time it gives us a great highlight of everyone's abilities both offensively and defensively in a very entertaining way. Also love how some are "basically gods" and others are "only" humans yet everyone is able to hold their own given the chance. Fury, Coulson, Natasha, to name a few.
I really like that you’re curious on Hawkeye! He’s a great character with an ever greater arc in my opinion! People underrate him in this movie but he is still my absolute favorite avenger. :) amazing reaction 😊
It is actually highly suggested that Loki was tortured after he fell from the bifrost and that the scepter influenced his emotions and amplified them . Even Thor , when he meets his brother says " who controls the would be King "
Bruce Banner’s actual origin story is super dark. Child of abuse, multiple personalities manifest to shield his mind. Hulk is one of those (which is why he protects Bruce), but I wish they would explore that and his other gamma enhanced personalities.
it's why i dropped she-hulk after she bashed on Bruce when he was talking about anger and she was all demeaning saying she has it sooo bad compared to him because she gets cat-called and mansplained .... She's his family and should know how bad Burce has had it all his life...

Yay! Another Hawkeye fan! Thank you. I feel so lonely sometimes.... I mean, think of it... dude with a bow and arrow and he almost brought down a helicarrier full of Avengers.
Kinda of a comic book tradition that the first time 2 superheroes meet, they have a fight. This is especially true of gigachad heroes like Thor & Iron Man.
Fun reaction! You mention about the heroes fighting each other. Remember, these stories all originate from comic books printed back in the 60's, 70's etc. Back then the way to pump up sales was to have a cover that caught the eyes, something like "Spider-Man fights Captain America!". Even though the readers knew they were both good guys, the story had them meet for the first time with a misunderstanding or maybe one of them gets mind controlled or any other contrived way to get them to fight. Lots of kids would buy the books to see which character would win. So its not a surprise that they play on that trope here. Its fun to see The Invincible Iron Man fight The Mighty Thor, then Thor gets stopped by Captain America's shield. Then they start working together. (Until the scepter starts making them argue again).
LOL! Sorry, but... Hearing you describe HAWKEYE as "That guy who almost shot Thor while he was trying to pull his hammer outta the DIRT" just.... cracked me the HECK UP, Kaiielle! xD
Much, much, MUCH appreciated. Besides, whenever others release a movie reaction in two parts I usually wait for the second one to come out before watching the first so I can enjoy the whole movie in one go, as should be. By releasing both parts today I feel like I got an early Christmas gift so thank you very much. As unexpected as appreciated to be honest, so few people do it that way.
FWIW, Barton and Natasha are my two favorite characters, mostly because they have no powers or upgrades other than sheer grit and force of will. Love em.
In the early 2000’s Marvel launched an alternate reality version of their comics line called the Ultimate universe. Because the vast majority of Marvel’s character’s were created in the 1960’s and 70’s they had a lot of backstory that made it hard for new readers to jump in. So this new line was an attempt to introduce new readers to all of Marvel’s hero stories by placing their origin stories in our current time the early 21st century. Captain America was still from the 1940’s but he woke up in our time. The Avengers or Ultimates as they were called in this new line were a group run by SHIELD and not a Tony Stark funded group of vigilantes. The manner in which the characters are all drawn made them look like famous actors. Nick Fury looked like Sam L. Jackson, Cap looked like Brad Pitt and Natasha looked a bit like Linda Hamilton from the Terminator. The storyline of the MCU Phase 1 - 2 very closely matches the Ultimate line. For example the scene in Thor where Loki visits his brother while he is in SHIELD custody was right out of the Ultimate Thor storyline. But there are quite a few exceptions: * Natasha is not Tony’s girlfriend or mildly genetically augmented. Nor is she a sleeper agent who kills * Hawkeye’s archery skills are 100% natural talent and not the result of cybernetic enhancements. * Two founding members of the comics Avengers/Ultimate are not present until Phase 3. Also one of them doesn’t look like Lucy Liu 😉 * Captain America isn’t a jingoistic jerk who likes to bully weaker people Ultimately (no pun intended) Marvel ended this line. But as you watch these movies play out you can definitely see it’s blueprint.
Are you planning on watching Agents of Shield? It's, in my opinion, the best superhero live action tv show. The events of it start right after Iron Man 3 and happen concurrently with the movies over time. I'd highly recommend it.
Love that you are showing our favorite Bad-Ass Archer some love! Clint has been a favorite character of mine since his first few lines in Thor. He is so sassy.
@@radicalreactions1633 Yeah, no, I meant what I said about Clint Barton of the MCU. Comparing superhero characters has never really been my thing. Especially when they exist in two different franchises, that are managed by different companies/studios/overlords. I also don’t see the point of applying most real world rules to that of fantastical, fictional, comic book type movies and shows. Clint is a cool character and has proven his worth in the universe he resides in, that’s good enough for me 🤷♀️😜
It's speculation, of course, but it seems logical that the line Phil Coulson didn't finish was, "This was never going to work unless they had something to... avenge."
The septor was controlled by Loki He caused the fighting amongst each other, to get Banner to turn into The Hulk. Destroy the ship, Then Shield is no threat. Loki's scheme.
Fury's speech at the end of bringing together a remarkable group of people to fight the battles that we never could, you could switch out "fight the battles" with "make the franchise" and just apply that to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it kind of fits "There was an idea to bring together a remarkable group of people so that they could become something more. So that they could make the movies, that we never could""
Question: do you plan on watching (maybe not posting reactions, but at least viewing) Agents of SHIELD? It does tie into the first 2 phases a bit but isn't considered official canon with the MCU as it was produced by Marvel Entertainment, not Marvel Studios. It is definitely worth a watch though, IMO
@@kaiielle This is in no way a spoiler. "Agents of Shield", in the MCU timeline, starts after the movie following "Avengers". I don't want to name the movie in case you're trying to keep yourself in the dark until you watch it.
It's not JUST Steve's 1940s brain that couldn't make heads or tails of that control panel. Even a mind of modern soldier without scientific training would't be able to figure out how that control panel works.
One thing that they never really emphasized about Steve is the way in which the Super Soldier formula enhanced his mind and senses. In the regular Marvel comics and in the Ultimate line from the 2000’s it’s mentioned that his brain’s problem solving faculties have been augmented as well. If you throw a military situation at him he can formulate a counter strategy in minutes. That is why Cap is always The Man with a Plan. In an early 2000’s Cap story he was asked how he almost always managed to avoid gun fire. Captain smiled and explained that when he sees where a gun is pointed at him he can map out the probable trajectory of bullets in real time. He then uses his enhanced reflexes to dodge out of the way or at least put the shield in front of him. Finally there is a Captain America tv show from the 1970’s that out about the same time as the Incredible Hulk. In that show they portrayed Cap’s hearing, eyesight and sense of smell as being amplified. Not to the level of a Daredevil or Wolverine but he could definitely utilize those senses far better than a normal person.
Fantastic first start. Really picks up where all characters were when they last appeared. Thor coming back to collect Loki and save the Earth from more of his destruction. Steve trying to find his way in this new world but rather than deal with his loss he’d rather just jump into his next fight. Bruce trying to live a quiet life until SHIELD recruits him. And the backstory between Natasha and Barton the reveal that Barton was ordered to assassinate Natasha because she was a national threat and instead of killing Natasha Barton recruited Natasha to do good. Biggest twist was Natasha playing Loki like a fiddle getting him to show his hand this is her greatest strength her cunning its so well that she can fool even the god of mischief. I always love the scene where Bruce mentions he tried to kill himself and it immediately zooms in on Tony and Steve and their expressions given they both had near death experiences Tony nearly died in Afghanistan and lived only because others died for him Steve made the sacrifice play he was willing to die to save the world from Red Skull’s bombs and then for both of them to hear Bruce a brilliant man who didn’t sign up for any of this wanted to die because of what the Hulk cost him it really shook Tony and Steve.
I knew Banner was recast but unaware of who replaced him, yet I was able to figure it out by the dialogue. Just pointing out solid writing in telling you without explaining to you.
Ig you wondering why Tony eating he used to hid snack around the set so the blueberries was improvised. Don't if you seen the show Hill is from How I Meet Your Mother which in that she plays a character called Robin
They've all got self-control issues (EDIT: The super-powered ones, I mean, not Nat and Clint), but Thor really stands out to me. Even more than Banner, he's aware of (and rues) his power and its potential destructiveness, but he still can't stop himself going overboard in a fight. If Cap's shield were steel rather than vibranium, Mjolnir would've smashed him to paste.
No, the hammer would've bounced off of the shield if it was made of steel too, it's just a reverb effect from two forms of steel hitting each other. Same thing happens in the comics with Thor Vs Superman, he's called "Man of STEEL" not vibranium and yet has the same effect.
They don't know each other so it makes sense to be on the defence and fight each other. That's what I loved about marvel with these avenger movies, everything felt realistic and not just jolly and perfect from the beginning. They had to earn each other's trust.
I had an archery phase back in the day, not seriously. Just something fun to do with friends was going to the archery range. I wasn't great at it, so yeah I have huge respect for people super talented at it!
Another Starkism: calling Thor "Point Break." The joke here is that Thor does, in fact, resemble Patrick Swayze's surfer dude in the movie Point Break. Hey reactors, there's a movie to react to.
Interestingly, when Tony was snacking while him Banner and Steve were talking, that was just Robert Downey Jr. improving 😂 He hid snacks all over the set and the crew couldn’t find all of them

Unfortunately I was spoiled on that recast (and I talked about it in one of the previous MCU reaction videos of mine). I also talked about Mark/Edward in my thoughts and review portion of this video.
@@kaiielle I'm sorry it was spoiled since I know you don't want that. However, I think both the Rhodey recast in Iron Man 2 and tis one are one of the few things best made as a spoiler to reduce confusion. I can't really think of other 'spoilers' that someone watching for the first time would need to get.
Not sure if it's on your agenda, but the TV series' (there are several) that come to be as a result of the movies fill in a lot of plot holes. Of course, now you're investing some serious time. Just wanted to mention it in case no one has. Loving the reactions!
Cap's hammer isn't nowhere near's strong as Thor's hammer, the shield reflected the energy from the hammer, if Thor actually put more strength to it then the shield would have been broken.

Yes! Loved the showcasing of everyone and how the movie really balanced out featuring everyone.
I really love agent phillip son of coul :(
Of note; they don't actually say Hulk or mention Banner's name untill they're on the Helicarrier 😲
I was spoiled in the past that Mark Ruffalo replaced Norton as the Hulk, which explains my lack of confusion.
I knew Banner was recast but unaware of who replaced him, yet I was able to figure it out by the dialogue. Just pointing out solid writing in telling you without explaining to you.
@@rodentnolastname6612 Agree, the writing was good!
Working here
I just wanted to spoiled that you’re amazing n beautiful. Lol great reaction.💯🌹🔥🔥🔥
He will get his dance…eventually…
Woohooo Avengers!!! 💕💕❤❤
Ig you wondering why Tony eating he used to hid snack around the set so the blueberries was improvised. Don't if you seen the show Hill is from How I Meet Your Mother which in that she plays a character called Robin
A character called Robin Sparkles, I think you meant.
😉
They've all got self-control issues (EDIT: The super-powered ones, I mean, not Nat and Clint), but Thor really stands out to me. Even more than Banner, he's aware of (and rues) his power and its potential destructiveness, but he still can't stop himself going overboard in a fight. If Cap's shield were steel rather than vibranium, Mjolnir would've smashed him to paste.
Iron man doesn't have superpowers
No, the hammer would've bounced off of the shield if it was made of steel too, it's just a reverb effect from two forms of steel hitting each other. Same thing happens in the comics with Thor Vs Superman, he's called "Man of STEEL" not vibranium and yet has the same effect.
"I didn't think he'd be a recurring character!!" ...ma'am, that's Hawkeye. HES AN AVENGER lol
Didn't know, obviously! First time viewing, remember. 😅
The cheap Green Arrow clone, HE'S AN AVERAGER, because that's all these dopes. They're watered-down AVERAGE, bad clones of the Justice League.
Hawkeye was and still my favorite avengers since day 1.
💛💛💛💛💛
If yo uwant to know more about the son of Coul you should watch Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ;)
It's on the list!
So many questions raised in this movie will be answered eventually
That's my hope! I always have questions.
@@kaiielle Just be patient
@@technopirate304 I definitely am LOL
Yes, listening to you asking questions and making comments, we're halfway through the movie and already so many things I can't say...
They don't know each other so it makes sense to be on the defence and fight each other. That's what I loved about marvel with these avenger movies, everything felt realistic and not just jolly and perfect from the beginning. They had to earn each other's trust.
31:12 is a call back to the same scene in Iron Man with Pepper being chased by Stane/Iron Monger
@30:05, I'm an archery enthusiast so Hawkeye is one of my top five Avengers. Wish I could shoot a half as good as he can.
I had an archery phase back in the day, not seriously. Just something fun to do with friends was going to the archery range. I wasn't great at it, so yeah I have huge respect for people super talented at it!
Then you should know that he's not shooting the arrows right, so don't bother comparing, maybe that's why you're having problems.
This was a great reaction and I really hope you check out the show Agents of Shield.
I will eventually!
I really think you should check out Marvel's Agents of Shield tv show. At least the first episode.
Another Starkism: calling Thor "Point Break." The joke here is that Thor does, in fact, resemble Patrick Swayze's surfer dude in the movie Point Break. Hey reactors, there's a movie to react to.
the fights are the best parts of marvel movies and it seems like you don't care hahaha
Next time I will fake my reaction and scream at the top of my lungs in excitement during the fight scenes for you. 👍
Interestingly, when Tony was snacking while him Banner and Steve were talking, that was just Robert Downey Jr. improving 😂 He hid snacks all over the set and the crew couldn’t find all of them

I was shocked there was no mention of recasting Banner since you avoid spoilers.
In my opinion the Barton trail is the best one all up to the end so far.
Not sure if it's on your agenda, but the TV series' (there are several) that come to be as a result of the movies fill in a lot of plot holes. Of course, now you're investing some serious time. Just wanted to mention it in case no one has. Loving the reactions!
Surprised you didn't catch the Channing Tatum cameo xD
Wanna throw me a timestamp?
He ain't that memorable.
i watched these movies a million times, I dont think Channing Tatum is in this. Let me know where he is in case I am wrong
Should check out Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., or, as I call it, The Agent Coulson Show. It's fun.
Hi, KL! Here we go with the comments:
- Say hello to Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye! 😅
Do you plan on watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., either on your own or for your channel?
I am going to watch it! Not sure about reactions yet, but if I decide to they wil go on Patreon just because of how many episodes there are.
Cap's hammer isn't nowhere near's strong as Thor's hammer, the shield reflected the energy from the hammer, if Thor actually put more strength to it then the shield would have been broken.
Bull. It's a reverb effect for steel hitting steel, same thing that happens in the comics when Thor hits Superman with the hammer.
