- Get ready to feel nostalgic! Because you're about to watch Fantasmic! exactly as it appeared before the change. This is the last and final show of the original Fantasmic! which saw its final performance on January 11, 2016. It has since been replaced by the new Fantasmic! on July 15, 2017. I recovered this video from my old laptop and also found additional footage of the Fantasmic! crew on their final night. I hope you enjoy this old but new video!

Even though I know the show still exists as Fantasmic! 2.0, I'm still a little sad that this version doesn't show anymore. It's always the highlight of my trip to Disneyland and I'm always impressed with the perfection of stage magic that only exists in shows featuring live performers (yeah, World of Color is cool in its own way, but it's all on timers and the fact that there is no room for human error makes it a little less impressive to me).
It still *kinda* exists in the new Disney World edition. Now if they could get a new dragon, that would be the definitive version for sure!
Even though I do like the NEW version of "Fantasmic!", I also really miss the OLD version of it as well!

wait why did it close due to construction of Galaxy’s Edge? was it wasting too much electricity or..?
The railroad and adjacent Rivers of America were rerouted to make room for Galaxy’s Edge. Basically, they had to minimize the size of the train route and river to make more space for it. The river was partially drained during this time and hence why it needed to close.
