    So I've been following you guys since before you got the Storyteller - just so much "questionable van life content" :) - and I put a deposit down on a Storyteller with Cathy at LaMesa RV in FL before you got yours! I'll be picking mine up until next month. But imagine my delight now at watching you guys dive into the features of the exact same van I'll be driving in a few weeks! The shower. The cab. Love it. Do both front seats have that odd little seat extender? I could see someone traveling with a small child might turn the seats facing each other and pull them out as an extra bed perhaps.

    • @ChadandPaul
      @ChadandPaul  3 роки тому +1

      Yup! They both do. Not a bad idea! I'm not sure if there'd be a gap in-between. Will have to do some experimentation.

    • @BlueDulac
      @BlueDulac 3 роки тому

      @@ChadandPaul I'm super curious. I tried searching stuff like Sprinter seat pull out or extension and ha no luck finding more info. The only other thing I can think is that someone tall might want to lengthen the seat base. As a parent we're always looking for extra spots to cram in another kid. We only have the one, so the groove lounge would work great to her, but it's always nice to have options. I could see making a thin hinged board to go across the seats of there is a gap. Then they could just throw a sleeping bag on top.

    Thanks for the visual tutorial on your new Mercedes Sprinter features. Like you, Paul, I too am a techno geek and love to know all the things I can access by pushing a few buttons. I've even educated some sales professionals on features that were hidden in the new cars they sell. Adaptive cruise control and 360 degree cameras are the only way to go... Hey Guys nice review on the new van features. The crumb collecting feature on the seats is absolutely brilliant. If your 6"5 like myself the extra seat length will support your legs just that little bit more so your lower back muscles don't have too. It makes a long drive so much better when you can take the tension out of your body.

We have the two-wheel drive, The Overhead storage compartments are great. As for DEF Old models seem to need more after 5 or 6 fill ups. You talk about the van applying the brakes when you try to leave the lane unintentionally to the right. The van actually applies the brakes on only one side slightly to drag the vehicle back into the appropriate lane. Especially important, it does that going left over a yellow line too, to avoid head on collissions.

    Very cool vehicle, and a nice walkthrough of the cockpit. One thing that I’ve wondered about is how it performs in mountainous areas. If I’m not mistaken, it weighs something like 9,000 lbs, right? The specs say that the engine is 188 hp or in that area. Of course, diesel hp is different than gasoline hp. Have you driven it at altitude in places like the sierras in CA, or the rockies in CO? Just curious about the performance.

      Hi Henrik! Yes we’ve been up to around 9k ft and she drives great! We’ve noticed a big difference from the gas promaster we had previously.

    Superb! Why can't manufacturers provide something similar? Instead , we get multi-hundred page manuals with all kinds of warnings and excess verbiage. Thank you!

    Thanks so much for this! We have a small Class C RV but are looking to custom build a Class B on a Sprinter so I was curious what tech features came with a luxury van base. Even better that this is from the perspective of an RV/campervan usage but focused on the stock vehicle features. Also, much better info than some crappy dealership video.

    Can you use Apple CarPlay wirelessly or does the phone need to be connected to the Usb-c jack?

      Hi Frank! It has to be connected to the jack I believe (I wish it were wireless!). Otherwise you can use Bluetooth but just for audio.

    Hey guys have you worked how to get the dash instruments lights to turn off straight away when you turn off the van? Mine stay on for about 3min after locking the van🤨

    Hello, do you know where you can view your tire pressures? I have a 2021 and can't see the option to view the tire pressure anywhere. It's not in the service area.

    Lol you say drawer like my old roommate. She was from Boston. She was trying to tell me where something was and had to say it like 10 times. I couldn’t figure out she was saying drawer. She was leaving off the “wer” part. Odd thing was that’s about the only “Boston” I heard in her.

      Yes! I (Chad) always remind Paul of that final “wer” lol!

    1) Cruise Control-The main toggle SET+ and SET- will adjust set speed up and down 2 ways! slight touch will change 1mph up or down AND hard touch and hold slightly will set speed to the nearest 5mph increment then increase/decrease by 5mph and long old will step up/down by 5mph until you release.
    2) Volume control on right side of steering wheel controls volume up and down AND if pressed in it Mutes the system!
    3) Climate Adjustment - If you have AUTO it sets fan speed and vent direction for you. Pressing fan direction or fan speed up or down turns off AUTO and fan set all the way down shuts off the system.
    4) DEF gauge can be set on full time at bottom of dash screen
    5) Tire Change Tools are under the passenger floor mat, maybe 2 layers deep. You have to pull the whole mat and floor pad out and you'll find a loaded tool tray and under that more fuses as well. The jack is in a more obvious compartment in the door step.
    6) Wireless Key Fob - This key can be finicky and unless you know the secret below you need to push it into the key slot down on the center consul (pain in the butt!) If sliding door is used key FOB is most likely to not (86.3% of the time) be recognized and you'll be asked to put FOB in the forget-about-it slot. Just open and close the drivers door and presto it works. You may also cycle the lock/unlock door button and sometimes those keys on the FOB.
    7) Key FOB can control the window up and down remotely. Just hold in the lock position and both windows will close to fully closed but you have to hold the button down all the way, they open the same way.
    I'm sure there are others but you got most of it.
    Thanks C&P

    That was a pretty impressive demo of the Sprinter cab’s features! Definitely more to it than your last RV. Love all of the safety features on the Mercedes.
    Hope Orlando is feeling better. 🐾

    Error in video... speed limit on instrument clustering is not from camera, its from the built in navigation system.

    Easy to modify that nasty horn, remove it install a horn relay and its place then connect a real horn to the relay with positive line to a battery post. Inline fuse if you want. Great for RVs.
